Job interview question
Posted by: GTVG7 ()

If you have a phone interview on Monday and they tell you they will call you on Friday to let you know if you got the job, then they don't call at all. Does that mean you didn't get the job?

Yup. while it's real rude, if they're not going to hire you, they really don't care what you think about them.

Did you apply to work at Uber? they do that shit all the time. If you apply for a job that's anything more than minion, they'll ask you to come and "audition". You show up for the "audition", they give you every impression that it went well, they say they'll let you know when to start and they never call you. They were trying to see if you had any ideas they could steal.

Uber is totally unethical. Don't work for them,

No it was for an office job. I had a 50 minute interview and I thought it went well. I guess I will call him on Monday and see what he says.

Part of being a good employee...is following up and taking initiative.

If you have a client who is purchasing $5M worth of hardware and they will wire the money to you on Friday and then Friday comes and there's no money...do you just assume they no longer want the hardware? No. You re-connect and establish a new arrangement.

If you interview for a job and the hiring person says they will call you Friday and it's Friday after 2pm and you have heard nothing do you just pour a drink and assume you didn't get the job? No. You pick up the phone and get the score.

No need to be a dick. No need to say, "Hi...it's Friday and I haven't heard from you. What's up?" Just a simple...

"Hi there...we spoke earlier this week about the job opening and I am still very interested however I have some other offers that I am also considering. I was calling to find out when you'd like me to start and what my starting salary and benefits will be..."

If they get offended and tell you that they are not hiring you...you don't want to be working there. If however, they hire you at a competitive salary then you know you've found a place to go to work.

I wouldn't hire you if you said that crap. If you were still being considered you would no longer be. Bad advice.

Same here. There are enough arrogant tools in the world. No way would I knowingly hire one.

See...that's the problem with you fuckwits. You think the workplace is some kind of fuzzy place where nobody can get their feelings hurt and nobody can say offensive things and we should all be friends and attend the company picnic. The company is in business to make money. Are they getting theirs? Yeah...well, I sure as fuck am gettin' mine.

Neither one of you has the balls to even setup a multi-million dollar hardware deal, much less close one or handle the cash home...and I'm not talking about computer parts or nails and screws.

I have earned the right to say and do as I please when and where I want in the workplace. Because I make it rain. And when you make it rain, the people in charge don't give three fucks what you do.

Service from my wet bar in my office...any time I like. Strippers and whores on the expense reports...reimbursed. Banging secretaries two at a time...done and done. 911 GT3-RS company car...check.

Employers do not do us a favor by giving us work and pretending to pay us. Earners like me make themselves indispensable so that the company itself cannot exist without my efforts. I do my employer a favor by choosing to earn for them.

YOLO...so, you have to ask yourself...are you just going to go to college, get a degree and take the first job that comes along? Or are you going to go out and grab this world by the pussy...and earn.

And remember ask for forgiveness in life...never permission.

Just show up for work like George Castanza. They didn't call to say you didn't have the job so you assumed you did. Just go find an empty office and camo out there waiting for your assignments.

I honestly feel sorry for you. Your immaturity is obvious, and your arrogance is unwarranted - no matter how much you 'make it rain'. I have no doubt that you'll eventually be forced to learn humility and compassion either at work or in your personal life, and it won't be pretty. You don't have the inner resources to survive.

That might happen when employers want to check all the candidates, but in most of cases that means that you're not supposed to be hired, sorry. Don't waste time and go on searching, here are great free resume samples https://www.templatemonster.com/blog/30-creative-free-printable-resume-templates/ ( all printable and original ).
Good luck!
