The thing is, it did win the "political war". In fact, Hillary beat Donald by 2.8 million popular votes. That's the largest margin in American history. The electoral college is what swung the election in favor of Trump. Everyone knows the electoral college is just a fail-safe to make sure that the poor, and minority voters can't swing a stale-mated election in their favor.
