Jesus save us from him. Another easy to verify story and Trump denies it outright. Cherry on top he wants to assault 1st amendment to cover his obvious lie. Worst of all is how poorly he understands nuclear weapons. He is mentally ill

Officials told the network that they were surprised by the president’s reaction and questioned his understanding of the issue. According to NBC News, officials said they heard Secretary of State Rex Tillerson call the president a “moron” after that meeting.

Officials present at the meeting told NBC News that Trump referenced a point when the U.S. had 32,000 nuclear warheads in the late 1960s and said that he wanted to have that many now. The U.S. currently has 4,000 nuclear warheads, according to the Federation of American Scientists.

The officials added that they then explained to the president why such an expansion, which would violate existing treaties and weapons agreements, would not be possible legally, nor in the country’s best interest.

Time to start attacking the free press who will report on Mueller's findings.

You all still don't get Trump after all this time. When he tweets that an NBC news story that "I wanted a ‘tenfold’ increase in our U.S. nuclear arsenal" is "Pure fiction" and "made up", he means that he actually wanted a nine point five fold (or some such number) increase. That makes it false in what there is of his mind.

Maybe this story will help you get it:

Suppose a reporter asks Trump: "Is it true that you are seeking a tenfold increase in US nuclear weapons?" Trump replies: "that's a lie, that's totally false, fake news, NBC should lose their license!". Reporter follows up with: "Are you seeking a 9-fold increase?". Trump replies: "No comment".

That's how he thinks.
