Here's a question for the wingnuts out there. Sarah Palin was an intriguing character when she was first introduced. A fresh-faced values candidate who seemed to embody what conservatives stood for. However, as she has been revealed as completely unqualified for high office and a hypocrite, the right has continued to stand by her. Carrie Prejean is a similar story. She seemed to be young, beautiful, and a Christian who espoused traditional family values. As it turns out, she is really shallow and truth-challenged--claiming that the wind was responsible for a topless photo shoot, getting a boob job to enhance her beauty pagent appeal, and making a homemade explicit video where she masturbates for a boyfriend. And yet again the righties seem to be standing by her. When a person turns out to be not who you thought they were, why don't the wingnuts just condemn them and move on? Don't you think you can do better than these two?

She isn't even going to run. She knows she could never be elected and is just trying to milk her high profile for all the cash she can. If she stops being relevant then the paychecks will dry up. She wants to stoke as much speculation as possible so she can sell books, go on the lecture circuit, etc. She has no interest in actually governing anything.

I think that is her motive now, and she may very well decide not to run in the end. But I think that once she makes her financial nut, the ego-stoking is going to sink in. She is going to want to be the first woman President.

I don't even really think I believe she believes all that Christian right bullshit. Nobody that sends stinky pinky vids to their boyfriend can be that uptight.
