Trump Tried to Sue for $100 Million for Loud Plane Noise Over Mar-a-Lago

Palm Beach County estimates that airport-related legal tussles with Trump through the years have already cost local taxpayers more than $600,000.

The public cost could get much higher if Trump wins the latest lawsuit, which seeks $100 million in damages for "creating an unreasonable amount of noise, emissions and pollutants at Mar-a-Lago."

A judge last month ruled against most of Trump's latest arguments, but possible re-filings and other legal maneuvering could allow the lawsuit to linger into a potential Trump presidency.

"It's serious that there's a lawsuit, but ... it's like funny-peculiar to still have ongoing litigation with somebody who could end up being the president," County Mayor Mary Lou Berger said.

The lawsuit is still active in 2017. Trump can go right back to suing for $100 million after his presidency is over.
