the current state of neuroscience is hit or miss and for a small percentage it will even make things worse. so, you should switch to a different medication.
Cymbalta (Duloxetine) is a
SNRI.
there are many variations on the same idea,
reuptake inhibiting. they can have drastically different effects and even within each group they can have big differences.
it could be that inhibiting the serotonin, norepinephrine or perhaps just the combination of both is exacerbating your depression.
SSRIs have been around forever, so you may want to try some well known ones like
Wellbutrin XL (Bupropion).
i have yet to hear of someone that does not benefit from any of the anti-depressants out there. if at first you dont succeed, try, try again.
and seriously, if you dont see a positive change in a month or so, try a different anti-depressant.
