FiveThirtyEight recently outlined the rough road ahead for Democrats:
Even if Democrats were to win every single 2018 House and Senate race for seats representing places that Hillary Clinton won or that Trump won by less than 3 percentage points — a pretty good midterm by historical standards — they would still fall short of the House majority and lose five Senate seats.
That's brutal.

Republicans already won the Supreme Court majority.
Republicans already slowed illegal immigration.
Once McCain resigns/dies, Health Care will pass.
And no matter what President Trump does, Democrats have no chance of gaining a Congressional majority in 2018.
The non-polled silent majority is back in charge. We are not going away.
