Most people view Meade once out of curiosity and then never bother with him again.
He has spent the 20 years since high school pursuing a career in the entertainment field at the expense of getting a real job and what little he has to show for it is what is listed on his wiki page.
He isn't even a "has been" because he is a "never was".
He isn't to blame all by himself.
Those who encourage his pipe dream have some culpability of his failure for not caring enough about him to tell him the truth.
TIme for him to grow up and get a real job.
His father is elderly, imagine the joy he would have before he died knowing his son quit chasing his false hopes and settled down and actually planned for a realistic future...
