Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis and P.G.T. Beauregard were not heroes. Sure, they've been treated as such. They should have condemned slavery as an institution. But they took the opposite view of things. They reviled those men who helped preserve the Union. They reviled those people whose emancipation was brought about by the Civil War. They chose to honor men who not only wanted to preserve slavery but expand it.

Yes, they are all coming down one by one. Everyone who counts understands why they must continue to come down. There will always be a few ignorant fucks along the way that will try in vain to stop it. Now fuck off.

Why do democrats want to erase their history? This is all part of American history and culture. It should be memorialized so that we never forget how far we have come. The facts are that democrats lost the civil war. They wanted to keep blacks as slaves. Removing statues will not change that.

My relatives were confederates - fuck them. They were on the wrong side of the war wrong side of history. Just because we share DNA doesnt mean I want to glorify them or their disgusting stance on slavery.

The leaders of the Confederate Army were once loyal military leaders all attending West Point in many cases in the same class. Then some made the choice to betray their vows to the USA and became traitors in the truest sense of the word. We should honor them? I dont think there is any rational argument for that any longer.
