Attention Libtards - The 'tax breaks' to 'millionaires and billionaires' that you're whining about in the Republican healthcare bill...

Are the same tax increases that were put in place with Obamacare on people making $250K per year and above and on medical equipment.

I'm literally right.

"The tax cuts include a repeal of a 3.8 percent investment tax — such as capital gains — and a 0.9 percent Medicare payroll tax. Both of those apply to individuals earning $200,000 or more a year and couples earning more than $250,000."

No, they don't.

And it's carefully not mentioned by any of the libtards whining about it who do.

The fact that you're oblivious to how stupid you are and sound makes you look even dumber. Like you had an epiphany you heard on talk radio and had to rush and create a thread about. A real game changer there OP.

Gerry's comments are so wackily off-base and insulting I'm starting to think he's an undercover Republican trying to prove Liberals are angry nut jobs.

That's certainly the effect he's having.

Hm. Are you a double agent, Gerry?

If so, good work.

libtards are jealous, hateful people. the top 5% earners in this country pay 75% of all taxes. so of course cutting taxes will benefit the people paying the vast majority of those taxes. well over their "fair share" considering half this country doesn't pay any taxes. how about we all pitch in our fair share? do you think people might start seeing the importance of holding our big-spender politicians accountable? just a thought...

Let me ask you a question shit face? Whats the fair share someone is born with in terms of wealth? What is the fair share of resources someone utilizes with the trucks they have on the roads and the ports they use to import and export products and the people they have as employees whom need benefits like Walmart. Are you saying Walmarts fair share is no more than the average of the sum of all people?

The funny thing is, this fair share argument only becomes more extreme the more poverty that is created and the more wealth that is concentrated.

Lets say we have one trillionaire and the rest of the people are poverty stricken with no ability to pay taxes even though they all work for the trillionaire. What's his fair share in taxes that should be paid? The same as theirs?

Gerry, you didn't answer my question as to why crony capitalism and transfer of wealth to elon is OK with you.

I have a new question: shouldn't we throw out Beyer? He's filthy rich, because of inheritance (i.e., he's not a producer), and he proudly focused on estate tax reforms - for the family farmer, of course, not car salesmen.

only a ignorant libtard would fret over silly shit like that. you people live in complete denial of the reality of human nature. there's always going to be some asshole with more money/power/bitches/fame/etc than you. you can be as jealous as you want, but thats no reason to give more money and power to the government. (pssst... those government assholes have more than you too)

Even if they are the same - which they probably should be as a matter of principle, everyone should have skin in the game - then the more wealthy still pay far, far more.

15% x $10,000 = $1,500
15% x $1,000,000 = $150,000

We run the government on dollars not percentages. Which is the real reason that we have a 'progressive' tax system. Not for any moral reasons but because that's where the money required is.

Ahhh, now we're talking paying percentages in taxes. This whole discussion began with the proclamation that the top 5 percent pay 75 percent of that taxes with no thought paid to how much percentage of the income they make whatsoever. I doubt that figure is accurate but the more reasonable analysis would take into consideration the percentage of the overall income the top 5 percent receives.

What libs like Gerry who majored in art history don't understand is that all wealth is relative. If you increase wages at the low end artificially, then all that you really do is devalue that level of earning. It then chains up so that they're just paying more for the same goods and services, people above them are paid more, those at the top make more and still are at the same relative advantage.

Worse yet, it doesn't matter what system you're in, democratic, some socialist nirvana, a native tribe trading shells. There will virtually always be those at the top and those at the bottom and the relative value of wealth will adjust accordingly so that 3 sea shells become effectively the same as $1,000,000 or whatever unit of value is used as the measure.

Wealth is relative! Rather than asking why the American standard of living is declining and the wealthy keep getting wealthier with a higher portion of the national wealth, you should focus on making others poorer than yourself.

And since wealth is relative, what's so great about being wealthy when there aren't hoards of poor people envying your wealth?

You can measure it however you want. It still will come out that the wealthy pay virtually all of the taxes in this country.

45% or 77 million household pay nothing.

About 40% are a net drain, meaning that they get more out than they put in.

The top 20% pay 87% of the taxes paid.

Income level/Share of total federal individual income tax paid/Average income tax bill per person

Lowest 20% -2.2% -$643
Second lowest 20% -1.7% -$621
Middle income 4.2% $1,743
Second richest 20% 12.9% $6,285
Richest 20% 86.8% $50,176

lmao, the bottom 60 percent of the people only make 8.1 percent of the income. There's you're fucking problem. What's causing that? And you want to blame these people. Americans are the hardest working most productive most innovative workers ever known to man. Yet you treat them like shit.

The standard of living is not declining. In fact, it has increased. You've mixed up talking points because you don't really understand them.

What has changed is the *relative difference* because of greater wealth at the top mostly related to assets held, the largest difference being primarily home ownership and stock holdings in 401Ks and similar accounts.

While that may be the case, on an *absolute basis* everyone in this country still is better off, have more "stuff" of value, etc. There is virtually no real poverty in this country.

No, about half of them don't work at all. A big chuck of them are young and have little to no experience. A significant number and older and no longer working. Etc.

Trying to talk economics with you is like trying to talk sports with a chick.

You can thank Democrats for better economic indicators. Now we have 20 trillions in debt too. What are Republicans doing to balance the deficit. Not a motherfucking thing. They don't give a fuck. Meanwhile we're paying 350 billion dollars in that tax revenue now every year just to service the debt. And they say that we're receiving more revenue than ever and that spending is the problem. While the shortfall is from the interest from the debt their wars and financial meltdown caused. Now they're back and haven't learned a fucking thing.

And they want to lecture us on how there's no poverty in America all of a sudden. Just a couple of months ago America was ruined and had to be made great again. It's amazing how quickly America is so great when Republicans are in power.
