A married high school teacher in Connecticut accused of having sex with an 18-year-old special education student told another student that she wasn’t getting any action at home after the alleged affair, according to court documents.
Laura Ramos, a 31-year-old special education teacher at Central High School in Bridgeport, began telling a student at the school her issues at home about a month to six weeks ago, according to an arrest warrant obtained by WFSB.
The student told school officials that Ramos initially started texting him “as a normal teacher helping a student,” but then shifted to more personal topics.
“Ms. Ramos would complain that her ‘man’ or ‘guy’ does not want to have sex or do anything with her,” according to the arrest warrant.
While Ramos never identified the victim, the student witness believed the other student involved with Ramos was an 18-year-old special education student, a junior at the school.
“Witness 1 noticed the victim would hang out in Ms. Ramos’ class and … would watch them make eyes at each other like flirting,” court documents said.
The student witness let detectives take photos of the text messages with Ramos, some of which included the mother asking about buying marijuana for her and her husband, as well as other sexually explicit messages.
Ramos, of Milford, initially told police she was close with the student, but denied having a sexual relationship with him. However, according to the arrest warrant, Ramos later admitted to having sex with the teen a “handful of times” in her car from December 2016 through April.
Ramos, who was released after posting $50,000 bail on a second-degree sexual assault charge, is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Bridgeport on June 28.
