He has gold plated furniture in Trump Towers suite

Do you think he could be just as happy with just wood furniture? I mean nice furniture without the gilding. Does elegant corpulence make him happy?

A few years back, some time between 1999 and 2004, I was in an antique/used furniture store looking for a set of dining room chairs. I was looking for Victorian, but they had a set of hideous gaudy gold chairs with light blue upholstery and told me they had come from Donald Trump. My reaction at the time was that obviously money can't buy good taste. The chairs weren't particularly high-quality, just over-the-top gaudy/ugly.

Lying about provenance would not be good for their business and they had nothing to gain. This was long before Trump became President and the fact the chairs had been previously owned by him didn't add anything to their value at the time. The noteworthy thing about the chairs, apart from their garishness, was the fact there was a lot of them -- 8 or 10 as I recall. I was looking for a large matched set of chairs, but wanted something older and not so butt-ugly.

I have an old fashion Love Seat, two person couch, in the attic. It has a wavy wooden frame, very heavy, and carved on the back upward sweep. The fabric is still remarkably good. How much would a small couch like that go for? It is something you'd see in an old movie

An old love seat could be "worth" anywhere from $600 to $2,000 or more. You need to look at the asking and sale prices of similar items for comparison. Also look for any kind of stamp or markings of the manufacturer which could affect the value. Dealer's retail prices are obviously higher than auction prices.

Best place to sell? I noticed a site called "1st Dibs" that has a chair similar to mine. What do you suggest, and thanks for your feedback.
