accidently stoled something

I went to walmart today, and when I got out I noticed I forget to pay for something that value is $7 dollars. Do you think they will call the cops and arrest me for it?

Just go back and pay it. Problem solved. You don't even have to tell them you took it. Just walk in and go the nearest cash register.

It clearly states that they intend on prosecuting ANYONE who steals from them, regardless of the value, and you can face up to 5 years in jail, are subject to a hefty fine, and it will ruin the rest of your life!

A few years ago the person checking me out didn't scan the beer I had under the cart. The person at the door missed it too. I got a box of Heineken for free!
I didn't realize it while at the store. I wonder what would have happened if they approached me outside? I didn't steal it. They just didn't ring it up. so I wasn't charged for it, nor did I pay for it.

That sorta happened to me at Walmart. I put all my stuff on the conveyor, one of which was a tire brush from my car. When the cashier got to it he looked confused and said "is this yours?", and i said "yeah", and then he just threw it in my bag without scanning it. for some reason i think he didn't know it was a product, and thought it was something i carried into the store.
so i got a free tire brush out of the whole deal.

Better to return it, the sooner the better, I know what you are thinking "Will they feel I stole it and had second thoughts?" It is never easy, I did the same thing and it was very awkward to return it.
