Another Satisfied Gun Owners, Guns- Killing Off Owners to Make America Safe

(CNN) -- Soccer mom Melanie Hain, who made national headlines last year by having a loaded, holstered handgun at her 5-year-old daughter's soccer game, has been found shot dead in her home along with her husband, police said Thursday.
Melanie Hain was found shot dead in her home along with her husband Thursday.

Information from 911 calls shows that it took a SWAT team nearly an hour and a half to gain entry to the Lebanon, Pennsylvania, home Wednesday evening. Inside, they found the bodies of Hain, 31, and her husband, Scott, 33, police Capt. Daniel Wright said.

Police have avoided labeling the incident a murder-suicide. However, they do not believe that another person was involved, Wright said. A full investigation is under way, he added.

A gun bought for "self-protection" ends up being used in domestic violence instead? Shocker!

Guns don't kill people. Gun owners do.

Yeah, and yesterday, someone died after being stabbed, someone died from a bad reaction to prescription medication, someone died in a car wreck, someone died from drinking too much, someone fell off a ladder and broke their neck, etc.

Same shit's going to happen today, too.

If you pussies want to live the rest of your lives in a padded room where nothing can hurt you, I say go for it.

Well, as much as Vince pisses people off, I imagine he's worried someone might use their gun on him.

It's called irony. Nobody claims to climb a ladder for self-protection.

It's also ironic when someone gets decapitated by their safety belt in a car crash.

Yes, but seat belts have saved infinitely more people than they have killed. I haven't seen any convincing data that guns have killed more intruders than family members as part of domestic violence.

Well, I guess we should not let private citizens own firearms because they might misuse them. It would be so much safer to allow only the police and military have them. I mean, that's how Iran does it, and look how happy their population is!

All these pseudo intellectual associations and a "free" society are totally ridiculous. Ever society has a history that has gotten it to where it is today. And somewhere along that historical path each has its armed uprising that overturned the oppressors. Its a rather un-unique formula for folklore , the building of statues and meaningless speaches and idiotic arguments on web sites.

What made our history unique and what makes us the great country we are is one...our tradition of the peaceful transition of power...two, the rule of law and the belief that no man is above the law..three, the seperation of church and state. Any association of our right to own guns to our freedoms is a false one.

THE REASON THE FOUNDING FATHERS HAD THE 2ND AMENDMENT WAS SO WE COULD DO IT AGAIN IF WE HAD TO. Now please, go move to Iran or North Korea you stupid fucking fascist scum.
2nd Amendment: the one that protects the others.

No where in the Constitution is there stated or implied the right to commit treason against the US Government. No where!

I've never said that people shouldn't be allowed to own guns. The Second Amendment protects it as a right. I just don't agree with the NRA's rationalization that people should have guns for self-defense when the statistics don't support it. It is a ridiculous argument. They should simply say, "It is a constitutional right. Period." And forget this other nonsense that can't be supported by the facts.

That's entirely inaccurate. The reason the Founding Fathers created the 2nd Amendment was that they didn't envision the United States having a very large standing army or navy. They expected the military to be comprised almost entirely of militias. As a result, they encouraged people to own firearms to be able to participate in these militias.

Now, I'm not going to argue against 2nd Amendment because, if anything, it ensures that NO laws should be written to infringe on the right...at all. But the reason the Founding Fathers put the 2nd Amendment in place wasn't so that the poor and angry could overthrow...THEM. Which is what they would have had in mind when they wrote it, if what you claim is true, which it isn't.

Owning a gun is not difficult or dangerous. Houseplants require more attention.

I basically subscribe to the theory of "live and let live". I don't go looking for trouble, so trouble isn't out looking for me either and for the most part, I also don't care how another person lives his/her life. And I definitely don't try to impress my personal beliefs or morals on others.

I may, or may not be, a gun owner. With that being said, how come people don't get all riled up about other deadly items/weapons? Some examples are: swords, knives, screwdrivers, and cars. If I was in such a heated argument with my wife that I snapped and decided that the bitch needed to die, I could just as easily stab her, run her ass over with my truck, or drown her in my toilet. But my truck, my buck knife, my toilet, or (perhaps) my gun aren't going to magically come to life and do it for me.

Almost everything has the POTENTIAL to kill a person, but it takes another person to use that item in that fashion. So let people own their guns if it makes them happy. I'd bet that 99% of the people that own guns, knives, (and toilets) are responsible and reasonable. And the other 1% are probably going to get their hands on a deadly weapon whether it's legal or not.

Just sayin....

The argument is, all of those other items serve a function other than murder. It's true; a gun is made for the sole purpose of killing something.

However, so was the first club, the first bronze-headed spear, and the first steel sword. Humans, having no natural weapons, have been making them since we first started walking upright. The entire modern world was built by the people who had the best weapons. Had firearms never been invented, people would still be walking around with swords strapped to our belts.

If someone else can get a weapon, legally or illegally, I think everyone else should have the right to get one, too.
