US State Dept Is Now Advertising For and Promoting Mar-a-Lago - Impeach Trump!

On April 4th, The U.S. Department of State began officially promoting the Trump Organization's Mar-a-Lago Country Club on it's ShareAmerica website with a glitzy photo spread and flowery descriptions of the “ornate Jazz Age house,” which was “designed with Old-World Spanish, Venetian and Portuguese influences.”

On April 5th the State Department promotion of Trump's Mar-a-Lago real estate was pushed out onto the official websites and social media accounts of US Embassies around the world.

Norm Eisen, chairman of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, lambasted the State Department on Twitter, arguing that it was illegal for the government to essentially advertise the president’s personal property.

These are violations of 5 CFR 2635.702 - and they have gone viral thruout our embassies. Trump is gutting foreign aid and State Department budgets to convert embassies into Trump Organization Business Promotion outlets using US Tax payer dollars.

This kind of shit is blatant corruption - plain and simple.

§ 2635.702 Use of public office for private gain.

An employee shall not use his public office for his own private gain, for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity, including nonprofit organizations of which the employee is an officer or member, and persons with whom the employee has or seeks employment or business relations. The specific prohibitions set forth in paragraphs (a) through (d) of this section apply this general standard, but are not intended to be exclusive or to limit the application of this section.

(a)Inducement or coercion of benefits. An employee shall not use or permit the use of his Government position or title or any authority associated with his public office in a manner that is intended to coerce or induce another person, including a subordinate, to provide any benefit, financial or otherwise, to himself or to friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity.

(b)Appearance of governmental sanction. Except as otherwise provided in this part, an employee shall not use or permit the use of his Government position or title or any authority associated with his public office in a manner that could reasonably be construed to imply that his agency or the Government sanctions or endorses his personal activities or those of another. When teaching, speaking, or writing in a personal capacity, he may refer to his official title or position only as permitted by § 2635.807(b). He may sign a letter of recommendation using his official title only in response to a request for an employment recommendation or character reference based upon personal knowledge of the ability or character of an individual with whom he has dealt in the course of Federal employment or whom he is recommending for Federal employment.

(c)Endorsements. An employee shall not use or permit the use of his Government position or title or any authority associated with his public office to endorse any product, service or enterprise except:

(1) In furtherance of statutory authority to promote products, services or enterprises; or

(2) As a result of documentation of compliance with agency requirements or standards or as the result of recognition for achievement given under an agency program of recognition for accomplishment in support of the agency's mission.

(d)Performance of official duties affecting a private interest. To ensure that the performance of his official duties does not give rise to an appearance of use of public office for private gain or of giving preferential treatment, an employee whose duties would affect the financial interests of a friend, relative or person with whom he is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity shall comply with any applicable requirements of § 2635.502.

The above Trump violations of the law are impeachable offenses.

There will be full blown investigations. The guilty parties will be held accountable for their actions.

This is very bad for our country and our Government.

Using Government personnel, resources, computers, web sites, social media to promote your business interests for financial gain on Government networks and property is against the law.

It's right there on the fucking login screen of every Government computer - a warning that using the Government computer and network for anything other than official Government business is a felony punishable by up to 5-10 years in jail and/or a huge fine.

Running an advertisement for Trump's Mar-a-Lago Country Club on State Department Web Sites paid for by US Tax Payers is ridiculous.

The State Department has removed a blog post that touted President Donald Trump's personally owned private Florida club, Mar-a-Lago. The post was available to all embassies through Share America, a State Department program for US embassies.

"The intention of the article was to inform the public about where the President has been hosting world leaders," a small message reads on the Share America website. "We regret any misperception and have removed the post".

The Mar-a-Lago Club has already seemingly benefited from Trump's presidency. The club raised its initiation fee from $100,000 to $200,000 after Trump was elected and members and former members around Mar-a-Lago have said there is now an added cachet with frequently visiting the President's club.

"Aggressively begging foreign countries to funnel money straight into Trump's pocket is a clear violation of the Constitution's emoluments clause, but that's precisely what the State Department is doing by openly promoting one of the Trumps' private businesses," Shripal Shah, vice president of American Bridge, a Democratic firm, said Monday. "It's a gross abuse of taxpayer resources and flagrant violation of the law from an administration that thinks rules don't apply to them."

Both Norm Eisen, former President Barack Obama's ethics czar, and Richard Painter, the chief White House ethics lawyer for George W. Bush, said the blog post was a violation of federal law that restricts aspects of the government promoting a private business that benefits their superior, the president.

"This is outrageous, more exploitation of public office for Trump's personal gain," Eisen said. "Using the government's megaphone to promote Mar-a-Lago" is like when Kellyanne Conway, a top Trump aide, urged people during a television interview to buy Ivanka Trump's clothing line.

The Office of Government Ethics found that to be a violation, but Conway was not punished, despite being "counseled" on the matter.

"It's illegality run rampant," Eisen said.

We have a Major US Code violation here.

DOJ do your job. File charges. Make arrests. Do the Trump Perp Walk.

I have an erection. So does the media.

These are felony violations by Trump.

Impeachment charges should be pending.

He is president. He can't have conflicts of interest and the laws don't apply to him as president. More liberal tears.
