Digital Peephole Viewer uses zooming camera

Only available in Australia at the moment - and it would certainly take care of that guy from the scary movies that is always outside the door who is just waiting for you to put your eye up to the peephole.

Or, you can do like I do and just put something over the peephole so they can't tell when you're at the door.

Well yeah, but then that kind of defeats the purpose of looking through it to see who is there?

My setup is a little piece of duct tape, folded so only a third of it is still sticky. It hangs over the peephole like a flap. If you get right up on it before you move it, nobody outside will be able to tell you're there.

Or do what I do, and never answer the door.

No shit. This is the cell phone age. Nobody ever has to answer the door to find a salesman or bill collector standing there.

Anyone that you want to see will either call ahead or will call you when you don't answer the door.

Doorbells and knocking are so 20th century.

If someone rings my doorbell, it is like an unknown number on my caller-ID. I just don't answer. Anyone I know will call me when they are just about to pull up and walk up to my doorstep, and I tell them to walk right in.

I even had to give my mailman my number, because he was the only one who would ring my doorbell unannounced who I actually needed to answer the door for when I needed to sign for registered mail and such.

The function of conservatives is not to meet every liberal program or scheme with a denunciation or a destructive counterscheme, but rather to weigh its advantages and defects, supporting the first and challenging the second. A declaration of ideological warfare against liberalism is by its nature profoundly unconservative. It meets perceived radicalism with a counterradicalism of its own.
