The Newark Mayor posted that YOUTUBE video as a joke.

He was basically going along with the joke, saying, "yeah, now that you made that joke about Newark, you better try JFK, buddy, because we'll no-fly list your ass."

The guy was being funny.

Apparently Conan and Booker have a running joke going.

They both have flagging ratings, after all.

That's was so slickly edited and well-written, I wonder if Conan's people prepared it.

I think it'll be a good on-going duel between the two. Not that Conan was wrong though, lol, Newark has always been trash (If it has improved, then good for it).

Oh, no question. This whole thing is nothing more than a skit for Conan's show.

I don't know if it started out that way, or if the joke spawned it after Booker called the show's producers half out of outrage, half not, and it became an ongoing skit.

Yeah, newark's improved.

If by "improved," you mean it hasn't completely devolved into Mogadishu on the hudson, then yeah, it's improved.

Because politicians and statisticians can twist the interpretation of the numbers to say that a trendline downwards that stops trending down or even improves slightly is "an improvement."
