If the data you need to release to the public is potentially embarrassing, there's always classification review to the rescue.
The US Government Accountability Office deleted details of cost overruns on two of the Navy's littoral combat ships from a report on shipbuilding contracts, at the request of the Defense Office of Prepublication and Security Review.
The review referred to the financial tidbit on the USS Milwaukee and the USS Jackson as "sensitive but unclassified" in a footnote, according to Anthony Capaccio of Bloomberg News, who first reported the news.
The US Government Accountability Office deleted details of cost overruns on two of the Navy's littoral combat ships from a report on shipbuilding contracts, at the request of the Defense Office of Prepublication and Security Review.
The review referred to the financial tidbit on the USS Milwaukee and the USS Jackson as "sensitive but unclassified" in a footnote, according to Anthony Capaccio of Bloomberg News, who first reported the news.

If they balanced the budget that in itself would have a big stimulative effect, Republicans are too corrupt though. It will be another Democrats in power economic boom in the future.

By the time the new ships are built they obsolete. It's not just the cost of building the ships, it also cost billions to run the ships.
The reason we got rid of so many ships was they weren't needed and to save the taxpayers billions.

We don't need 100 aircraft carriers. Carriers cost a fortune to run and we can cover plenty of area with the existing fleet. That's why we reduced the number of ship years ago.

It costs $160,000,000 per year to run an aircraft carrier during normal "tours."
That's $500,000 a day of taxpayer dollars that could be used to fix roads and bridges.
That's after building the carriers and not including any mission costs.

The amount of money Trump is wasting is crazy. Navy's are obsolete. It's all drones these days.
The US has enough aircraft carriers. Even the NAVY recommended cutting the amount. Trump should listen the military and do what they want instead playing out his Hitler fastanies.

The amount of waste and scams the defense department does is criminal. When you see huge McMansions in NOVA just remember those are your defense tax dollars.
