I was thinking about renting a storage unit to live in

Rent has gotten astronomically high. I refuse to pay for it on my own but don't like having room mates so I thought about renting out some storage from public storage and living in it. I figure I can get a mattress, blankets an electric hot plate and my laptop with wifi hotspot and save tons of money towards a nice condo in the future. Anyone done this before?

You'd make it about two weeks, maybe a month at the most. Not because you'd tap out mind you, but because those storage unit owners come around and "evict" anyone like you who is living in their unit. It's a fire hazard, legally speaking they could be held liable but the bottom line is they don't want you hanging out, drinking and smoking meth in their unit.

It is technically illegal in fairfax county to rent out rooms in a private domicile. http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/code/property/overcrowding.htm

I wouldn't want to rent a room from dinks or sand niggers either way.
