Jump for Trump is correct. Trump had these people figured out too. He was just able to capitalize on their insecurities after waiting for 8 years with a black Muslim named president. He was able to call their rejection of Republican outreach to the Latino vote.

Trump never intended to win though. He wanted to compete at first, then he wanted to challenge the nomination, then he wanted to take the nomination. And even until election night he didn't think he'd be President.

That's why he thinks it's so amazing even though he got 3 million less votes. Because he went against all the expertise on what it would take to win.
