Craigslist Real Estate

I'm just browsing for real estate on craigslist for when I move back to the area next may and unfortunately that great resource is plauged by people who violate the terms of use of the site. If you people dont have anything better to do, could you flag these as "spam" or "prohibited" when you come across them? Thanks.

They post their logo to get a "pic" tag next to their listing and they also use keywords in their "Areas served" at the bottom of the ads. Both are prohibited by the craiglist TOU.

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/search/rfs/nva?query=auction
Auctions are prohibited as per the TOU.

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/search/rfs/nva?query=cahoon
This whore reposts her link to a commercial site several times a day, against the TOU.

These are search links, so if there's no links one day, there's sure to be many the next.

Also, if you're just browing the general nova listings http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/rfs/ , if you see the dicks who claim a house is in woodbridge/fairfax/alexandria please flag them. Not necessarily that specific combo, but many asshole realtors decide to keyword the search system by listing a bunch of towns in the area. Even a lorton/springfield ad(my local area, subsistute any adjoining towns) would be prohibited b/c a house has to be in either lorton or springfield, any other uses are just keywords. Again, these are prohibited by the keyword rule.

Thanks.

That sounds like work. I'd rather just let some other loser spend time patrolling the interweb.

If you are looking to buy why not just go to realtor.com or something like that.
Even better if you are buying get a real estate agent. The seller is paying the costs for selling. That way you get the agents to earn their commission which is usually 6%. Also I dont agree with the 6% in this area since it can be somewwhat easy to sell in a good market. The average home is $500,000 which means the agents split the 6% or $30,000. And yes I know the companies get some of that and there are other things but they can still walk away with a good piece of change.

I just dont see how they would negotiate me a better price if that's taking money out of their pocket. Seems like a conflict of interest. That's why I'm looking to do this myself.

My real estate agent didn't negotiate. She facilitated. The owner made an offer, we made a counter-offer, they countered back over small shit, we re-countered. Thus, negotiation was on the two parties.

If anything the real estate agent would be inclined to perhaps not show you certain properties, but that wouldn't do her any good. Your price range is your price range and that's all there is to it.

I did my part I hate that shit on craigslist. I see it all the time in the auto section. I think its great to have place like this of other "like minded people" ...grin...that can help delete that crap from such a useful site.

I'm not quite sure what your first and third gripes are. As for the first, what is the pic tag? As for the third, it is not against the terms to post a link to someone's site.

Old search links, don't worry about it.
