need help from a geek.....

Having issues with my Microsoft Outlook 2010 inbox.

As emails are received I am notified and the Inbox registers 1 email received.

Another email received and Inbox now registers 2 emails received.

Does same thing for subsequent emails.

PROBLEM IS that the emails "disappear" from the Inbox folder without me doing anything or being able to read the emails

Like it never happened.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

ps... I've been on the forum for a long time so please don't try to get me to erase my hard drive or any other stupid responses.

Do you have more than one profile on your MO2010?

NO, not as far as I know.

I wouldn't have set up a second one.

Try turming off your machine and rebooted. It should help. Than try again if necessary.

Did that 3 times yesterday...no effect.

Apparently all my emails are received by Verizon email account FIRST after which Outlook gets the email also (after Verizon does).

All emails are visible on Verizon and I can read them. Verizon tech guy was stumped as to why Outlook was not showing them and could offer no advise other than stating everything way o.k. as far as they were concerned.

I could just blow out Outlook and start using Verizon email but don't want to.

Like(d) Outlook so far until this bullshit started.

If I sort the inbox by "date received" nothing shows.

If I sort the inbox by "From" (or any other criteria) everything looks fine.

Any thoughts.

Sorting by anything other than "date" is tedious.

You're not holding your mouth right.

Make it kind of a sneer.

How big is your .PST file?

When you get close to the limit - I think 1.9G maybe - Outlook starts doing weird shit before cutting you off for the file max limit.

Filtering perhaps? Look in your Junk/Trash folder. I might delete the configuration for Verizon and recreate it.
