Bullshit.
The Greatest Generation gave us the digital age, it wasn't invented in a garage by a couple of thieving assholes. They understand it a lot better than you do. For the most part, they choose to stand in the shadows (as they always did) and live their lives without it. They believed that if something was wrong, you righted it. You didn't wait for the government to fix all your problems and you sure as hell didn't put on pussy hats and bitch to the world how unhappy you were.
Ever heard of the Enigma Machine?
They took down Hitler and Tojo without a smart phone. You couldn't cross the street without an app.
Babyboomers simply took all that had been given to them and made it more productive. They evolved the digital age into redundancy on all fronts.
You've probably never known a time when you couldn't surf the internet from your refrigerator or Playstation or car dash board and the Greatest and babyboomer generations never knew a time when they weren't striving to give you that opportunity.
In summation, dear GerBear...........if you are younger than Google, shut the fuck up.
