No he didn't. He dropped out before getting expelled. He drew vivid pictures of naked children which he called "art." This violated terms of VCU and before he got expelled/arreated he dropped out.

He dropped out but was on verge of getting kicked out. Besides his bad personal hygiene, he had a very shitty attitude towards the other students and faculty. Whenever he bothered to show up for classes, he would either sulk and not engage with other people, or he would attempt to start petty arguments and be verbally abusive towards the other students about their artwork. He would always slack off on assignments, crying about how he needed more time to get them done. The only reason he lasted as long as he did was because his parents kept sending checks. It was almost like they knew he was a total fuck up, but would rather throw money at the problem and appease his sorry ass. I heard he went to some other fly by night cartoon school and couldn't even hack it there either.

The Joe Kubert School is hardly a fly-by-night cartoon school. It's meant for people who are serious about breaking into comics or other sequential art fields.
If you're talented, work hard and develop the discipline you need to be a professional, you're virtually guaranteed a job.
Working in comics is an actual, real job, though. You can't just fuck off for most of the day and then half-ass it for a few hours and expect anyone to actually pay you for your shit.
My only gripe about Kubert is that it should absolutely not be an undergraduate art school. The students should already have finished at least an associate degree at a more traditional art school or college, or done equivalent coursework, before they let you fork over $20K a year in tuition.

The Joe Kubert School is hardly a fly-by-night cartoon school. It's meant for people who are serious about breaking into comics or other sequential art fields.
If you're talented, work hard and develop the discipline you need to be a professional, you're virtually guaranteed a job.
Working in comics is an actual, real job, though. You can't just fuck off for most of the day and then half-ass it for a few hours and expect anyone to actually pay you for your shit.
My only gripe about Kubert is that it should absolutely not be an undergraduate art school. The students should already have finished at least an associate degree at a more traditional art school or college, or done equivalent coursework, before they let you fork over $20K a year in tuition.

Why would the Joe Kubert school even accept Moreno in the first place if it's so great. It sounds more like an extended summer camp that will take anyone as long as the check doesn't bounce. Is their application on the back of a matchbook?

I had literally never heard of the Center for Cartoon Studies until I read about it here.
Their tuition is even higher than the Kubert School, and CCS isn't even accredited.

Lol he didn't even go to the Kubert school, and couldn't hack it at an overpriced, uncredited diploma mill. He might have a better shot graduating from the South Hampton Institute of Technology.

Hey Mizzer, I thought you weren't posting anymore...like any other FFXU poster would know about Kubert. i know because I was accepted and did not go. Ironically the school is across the street from where my Wife's grandmother grew up. It was an estate.
