At the time Steele was working for Fusion GPS on Russian-sourced dirt against Trump, he also was lobbying on behalf of Oleg Deripaska, a Russian oligarch with ties to the Kremlin.

First the mainstream media laughed and called Trump nuts for saying he had been spied on..

Then the mainstream media acknowledged there was spying but it was to find evidnece of "Russian Collusion"....

Then the mainstream media changed it's story and said the spying was to "protect" Trump from the "Russian Collusion"....

Now the media admits there was no Russian Collusion, just an attempt to set Trump up....

Let's see how long it will take them to admit who instigated this phony investigation and how high it went. Strzok and Page said it came from the White House. Will be interesting to find out what this means.

Couple of interesting tidbits. A lot of these wacky low level Trump advisors/consultants have been on TV a lot (George Papadopoulos, Carter Page, Michael Caputo). Quite frankly their interviews have been extremely disjointed, rambling, unimpressive and hard to follow. Very poor communicators. Perhaps clever people but just poor advocates for themselves. Very clear why they were targeted by the Deep State.

But all three have had lengthy interviews with Byron York on his new Podcast. And York has patiently done yeoman's work in extracting real information from these stooges.

https://ricochet.com/podcast/byron-york-show/

Shows #9, 10 and 11.

About an hour each but well worth the time if you got nothing else to do.

Hasn't made news yet but Michael Caputo claims that the Deep State also sent an FBI informant trying to frame him as well. I have attached the story from the Mueller Report about this incident.

Michael Caputo makes an interesting claim that this "Russian" was a documented FBI informant for 17 years.

If true, these means up to 5 of the major Russia Hoax "Contacts" were actually Deep State plants which certainly discredits the idea that the Trump campaign was actually reaching out to Russia or Russians.

Instead, what mystery remains around Greenberg — who’d bounced around Russia and the U.S. and tried unsuccessfully at one point to open a restaurant on the Miami River — is whether he was actually working with the FBI, as Caputo suggested. Documents from California immigration hearings in 2015 show that Greenberg was at one point, at least, working with the federal agency despite racking up arrests for violent offenses.

Moffa’s congressional interview was private, and no transcript has been released. But National Review has obtained a copy. The interview transcript reveals that the FBI’s use of Confidential Human Sources [spies] and other counterintelligence assets was far more extensive than has previously been acknowledged.

Moffa was asked in the closed-door Capitol Hill interview, “How many CHSs did you have working on this investigation at the time?”

Moffa again conferred with his counsel off the record.

“Okay,” he replied, back on the record. “So I legitimately do not know the total number of CHSs. That’s an operational side decision, but I also don’t want to imply to you that I don’t — I’m not aware of any CHSs, right. So that’s what we were just talking about. But I legitimately can’t tell you the overall number that are engaged. I just don’t know it.”

So many [spies] the Deputy Assistant Director of the FBI didn't know how many...

This is an interesting angle.

MARIA BARTIROMO: This is so extraordinary you can't write this, so LinkedIn, they reach you on LinkedIn, they give you a job working for the center for law practices, then you say you are going to quit you want to work for Trump, they say no wait, meet Mifsud in Rome, they send you on a paid trip to Rome, you meet this guy Mifsud who we find out is also tied to intel agencies across the world, Mueller talked to him, talked about him in the report as you a Russian spy, but in fact he is very connected to Italy, then others reach out from other countries: Australia, Britain, U.S. agents, all reaching out to you in the Summer of 2016. And then somebody gives you money on one of your trips, explain that, this is now, fast forward to 2017 when someone dropped $10,000 in cash in your lap, what happened?

PAPADOPOULOS: This element you just raised is probably going to actually provide evidence that I was part of an entrapment operation by Mueller's team, not even the politicized FBI under Comey.

Was ANYTHING in the Russia Collusion Hoax story real? ANYTHING?

In a key finding of the Mueller report, Ukrainian businessman Konstantin Kilimnik, who worked for Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, is tied to Russian intelligence.

But hundreds of pages of government documents — which special counsel Robert Mueller possessed since 2018 — describe Kilimnik as a “sensitive” intelligence source for the U.S. State Department who informed on Ukrainian and Russian matters.

Curious. Does anyone know who the NYT source(s) were on this story? This is February of 2017 and these supposedly in-the-know IC officials told the NYT that they "had seen no evidence of such cooperation." This being the case then why did the counter-intelligence investigation begin and why did the Mueller investigation begin? After all, no investigation has shown any provable clear-cut cooperation or collusion between Trump or Trump officials. Makes one think this was all political.

So this story quietly emerged and while not making news it is a legit BOMBSHELL.

It clearly shows that Democrat Party operatives (Hoyer’s aide Silverberg) and the Obama White House (ASS Nuland and DOS official Winer) played key roles in the production of the Steeler Dossier.

Nothing more really needs to be said. This is the definition of a scandal. Coordinated from the highest political levels and then pretending that it was the FBI that started and handled the investigation. This was a corrupt political operation directed by Obama.

Short summary: Another fake document (besides Steele Dossier) that the FBI knowingly used to get warrants for surveillance of Trump campaign personnel.

https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/449206-fbi-warned-early-and-often-that-manafort-file-might-be-fake-used-it-anyway

There’s just one problem: The FBI’s public reliance on the ledger came months after the feds were warned repeatedly that the document couldn’t be trusted and likely was a fake...Ukraine’s top anticorruption prosecutor, Nazar Kholodnytsky, told me he warned the U.S. State Department’s law enforcement liaison and multiple FBI agents in late summer 2016 that Ukrainian authorities who recovered the ledger believed it likely was a fraud.

...the FBI and Mueller’s office did not cite the actual ledger — which would require agents to discuss their assessment of the evidence — and instead cited media reports about it. The feds assisted on one of those stories as sources. For example, agents mentioned the ledger in an affidavit supporting a July 2017 search warrant for Manafort’s house, citing it as one of the reasons the FBI resurrected the criminal case against Manafort.

There are two glaring problems with that assertion. [only one cited here]

First, the agent failed to disclose that both FBI officials and Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, who later became Mueller’s deputy, met with those AP reporters one day before the story was published and assisted their reporting.

An FBI record of the April 11, 2017, meeting declared that the AP reporters "were advised that they appeared to have a good understanding of Manafort’s business dealings" in Ukraine.

So, essentially, the FBI cited a leak that the government had facilitated and then used it to support the black ledger evidence, even though it had been clearly warned about the document.

Rot at the FBI.

Another good story here:

But lest anyone be tempted to think Steele’s 2016 dossier is about to be mysteriously revived as credible, consider this: Over months of work, FBI agents painstakingly researched every claim Steele made about Trump’s possible collusion with Russia, and assembled their findings into a spreadsheet-like document.

The over-under isn’t flattering to Steele.

Multiple sources familiar with the FBI spreadsheet tell me the vast majority of Steele’s claims were deemed to be wrong, or could not be corroborated even with the most awesome tools available to the U.S. intelligence community. One source estimated the spreadsheet found upward of 90 percent of the dossier’s claims to be either wrong, nonverifiable or open-source intelligence found with a Google search.

In other words, it was mostly useless.

“The spreadsheet was a sea of blanks, meaning most claims couldn’t be corroborated, and those things that were found in classified intelligence suggested Steele’s intelligence was partly or totally inaccurate on several claims,” one source told me.

The FBI declined comment when asked about the spreadsheet.

… an audiotape containing professor Joseph Mifsud’s deposition has been given to both U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigators and to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“I can report absolutely that the Durham investigators have now obtained an audiotape deposition of Joseph Mifsud, where he describes his work, why he targeted George Papadopoulos, who directed him to do that, what directions he was given, and why he set that entire process of introducing Papadopoulos to Russia in motion in March of 2016, which is really the flashpoint the starting point of this whole Russia collusion narrative,” Solomon told Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

“I can also confirm that the Senate Judiciary Committee has also obtained the same deposition,” he said.

If Mifsud was an FBI asset sent to entrap Papadopoulos, then there are no real Russian agents anywhere in this entire Trump-Russia collusion story.

Obviously the intelligence agencies intercepted Russian connections and traced them back to Trump enterprises and to the Trump campaign. Once mentioned in intelligence intercepts, perhaps for years before the Trump campaign -- there is probable cause for further investigation under the law, and maybe if Trump were not President of the United States, arrest and prosecution.

I know you don't really believe this but I guess you have to say shit because politics. Facts are the evidence is the exact opposite. Everything indicates that the investigation into Trump was not a result of anything initiated at the lower levels of the FBI or CIA - field operations, surveillance, etc. All indications are that this whole operation was initiated and operated from the upper echelons - the management of the Deep State.

In any case, the Mueller Report did not mention anything at all about the ridiculous conspiracy theory you postulate. Nothing. Perhaps instead of stretching credulity with some inane spy movie plots it is more realistic to succumb to the reality that this was corrupt politicians spying on Trump. And others they wished to control.

Well, literally everything that the Deep State was accused of doing is true and far worse. Until now we didn't know the FBI deliberately altered documents to manufacture evidence. Horowitz Report here:

Can you imagine what the Intelligence Communities would be be doing by now if Hillary had been elected? We'd be a virtual police state and not know any of this information. The police state thing is still hanging in the balance.

No, it only takes a small subset of FBI agents to lie and obtain a FISA warrant which causes this entire fiasco.

The CIA has overthrown free nations at the direction of American corporations.

It's insane how the FBI manipulated this entire situation to imply Trump did something he didn't.

I don't like Trump. I don't want him as a president, but my dislike of the President doesn't justify this farce. It's horrible that it even happened in the first place.

Margo has written a really great piece detailing the extremely extensive spying and meddling into the Trump campaign by the Obama administration-led Deep State.

If we were living in a country where the rule of law was still in affect there would be dozens of people going to jail. I suppose we will in the end only be left with knowledge of what grotesque crimes were committed.

Highlights:

The IG report also did more than confirm the Crossfire Hurricane team accessed some Trump campaign communications: It established that accessing Page’s communications with the Trump campaign was the goal of the FISA order.

...agents may also have accessed hardcopies of campaign materials Page kept.

...the FBI tasked informant Stefan Halper with targeting Page.

Halper also used Page to connect to a senior member of the Trump campaign, Sam Clovis.

...when Halper spoke with Clovis on September 1, 2016, in a recorded conversation, Halper posed several questions about sensitive campaign strategies.

The FBI also tasked Halper with targeting foreign policy advisor George Papadopoulos.

...the FBI dispatched a supervisor of the Crossfire Hurricane team, known broadly to be FBI Agent Joe Pientka, to a private security briefing for then-candidate Trump and Flynn.

...the FBI viewed the briefing of candidate Trump and his advisors as a possible opportunity to collect information potentially relevant to the Crossfire Hurricane and Flynn investigations.

..."the FBI had several other CHSs with either a connection to candidate Trump or a role in the Trump campaign.”

"..."a different CHS who at one point held a position in the Trump campaign,”

"...the CROSSFIRE HURRICANE team has decided, at this time, it is best to utilize your CHS [Confidential Human Source aka spay] as a passive listening post regarding any observations [he/she] has of the campaign so far,”

Beyond Halper, the tasked and volunteer CHSs, Comey, and Pientka, the Crossfire Hurricane team also used “a few” Undercover Employees, or UCEs. But how those UCEs were used and what information they accessed is unclear because the IG report did not provide any details, leaving open the possibility that even more spying took place.

Key FBI officials failed to review an intelligence file identifying Christopher Steele's ties to Russian oligarchs and were later advised some of the information he provided agents in his dossier appeared to be misinformation planted by Russian intelligence, according to declassified information made public Friday.

The explosive revelations were contained in footnotes that had been originally redacted from Justice Department inspector general Michael Horowitz's December report on FBI failures in the Russia case. The information was provided to two Senate committees in recent days.

One of the newly declassified footnotes highlights a glaring misstep early in the Russia case, when key officials failed to review the intelligence control file for Steele, a former MI6 agent who approached the FBI with unverified allegations about Trump after he was hired to do opposition research by the firm working for Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party.

At some point in 2017, the precise month is not clear, the FBI obtained evidence that Russian operatives fed disinformation to former British spy Christopher Steele.

That stunning revelation came on Friday, and not through a leak, as did so many of the anti-Trump and pro-Steele stories that have come out since the dossier was published in January 2017.

Instead, the disclosure was the product of an intense GOP-led fact-finding campaign to force U.S. intelligence officials to declassify information that the FBI had on Steele and his notorious dossier.

Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson, the two Republicans who jogged loose the new information, noted the disparity in the type of information that has leaked out of the Trump-Russia investigation in the three-plus years since it began.

“For years, the public was fed a healthy diet of leaks, innuendo and false information to imply that President Trump and his campaign were part of a Russian conspiracy to spread disinformation,” they said in a statement upon the release of three footnotes from the Justice Department inspector general’s (IG) report on the FBI’s surveillance of the Trump campaign.

The previously-classified footnotes said that an organization not identified in the IG report provided the FBI evidence that Russian operatives fed disinformation that wound up in the dossier.

The disclosure is another stunning blow to the reputation of the FBI, which made Steele’s dossier a “central and essential” component of its surveillance warrants against Carter Page.

The disinformation involved two of Steele’s most explosive claims: that former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen visited Prague in August 2016 to meet with Kremlin operatives, and that the Kremlin was blackmailing Donald Trump with footage of him with prostitutes in Moscow in 2013.

This is a nice interview with Lee Smith discussing some of the latest exposes revealing exactly how the Deep State carried out their spying and disinformation operations against President Trump.

The premise of the investigation into Gen. Flynn was nonsensical from the beginning. It’s not just Gen. Flynn’s long track record, and it’s not just that Gen. Flynn was the director of the DIA [Defense Intelligence Agency] and that he served his country honorably in uniform for thirty-three years including two combat theatres, at least two combat theatres most recently Iraq and Afghanistan.
The fundamentally preposterous thing about it, and as I always try to explain to people who were curious but didn’t entirely know what to understand, I said, here’s what would really happen if you have a former director of the DIA who’s actually suspected of collaborating in some way with a foreign power, or especially an often adversarial foreign power like Russia, that’s it. Everything shuts down. That person goes away to Supermax and we probably never hear from him again.
Because that person has access to all sorts of different programs that would put the lives of hundreds of thousands of troops, at least, in danger. So the idea that what they [Deep State] were doing instead was running a counter intelligence investigation, based on what we now know is (based on what one of these documents show) the information of political operative/Confidential Human Source Stephan Halper (or it certainly looks like him) – this gives us more insight into what’s going on. But again, at the beginning, the very premise was outrageous and outlandish.
-----
It’s very important to remember who this operation was intended to help. In the beginning, before the election, it was intended to help Hillary Clinton. After the election, the purpose of this operation was a massive cover-up.
-----
I’m not sure if he’s [Bill Priestap] the fall guy … he’s been described to me as a boy scout. What he turns out to be is the person in that room (and we have to imagine this because that’s what happened, it’s in a room) … there are people who are clearly arguing saying like, ‘no we’re going to get him to lie, and we’re going to jam him up, that’s what we’re going to do,’ with the incoming National Security Advisor. So there is a room where this discussion is happening. And as it turns out, Bill Priestap is the one with some sort of conscience who says ‘Is this the right thing to do? What do we really want here? Do we want to get to the truth or do we want him to lie so we can get him fired? Do want to push the Logan Act so we can refer him to the Department of Justice? What’s really our point here?’
So you understand the state of the room now. Now the important thing will be finding out precisely who was in that room. And we are starting to get a pretty good idea that there are senior FBI officials in that room.
-----
… the momentum is going in a different direction. For the last three and half years Gen. Flynn has, I mean, it’s not just the DOJ and the FBI, the bad guys in these institutions, it’s also the press, it’s the legal experts, the talking heads you see on TV every night, and you saw them maybe recently after some of these documents started to come out on Twitter still heaping garbage and dung on Gen. Flynn. Because they themselves have something at stake in this. They themselves have something at stake in targeting Gen. Flynn and it’s despicable and disgusting behavior. Nonetheless, what we are seeing now is the momentum is shifting, the wind is blowing in a different direction and now it is at the back of Ms. Powell and Gen. Flynn.
-----
… we have seen the different things that we have seen are evidence of brazen corruption, a celebration of corruption, pride and contumely, the pleasure that these people take in corruption is repugnant. And it should make all Americans disgusted to see what federal law enforcement officers were doing, whether they could target any American citizen, never mind a retired three-star general.
-----
This is comical right? The defense of the people who are defending the dirty cops in the FBI and the crooked prosecutors who were part of the Mueller team, the defense is, ‘hey, they jam up people like that all the time.’
-----
The press has leased itself out as a platform for these vicious operations targeting Trump team officials, targeting Americans, also non-Americans like Svetlana Lokhava.
-----
At the end of the Obama administration they made the Russian ambassador radioactive. Anyone who spoke to the Russian ambassador, whether it was Michael Flynn, whether it was Jeff Sessions, they tried to jam up Carter Page on this, anyone who spoke to him was bad. Well, the Russian ambassador is in Washington for one thing, and that’s to speak to American officials, right. So they perverted the idea of diplomacy. That’s what happened with the Obama administration. They turned diplomacy on its head.
-----
They know that Michael Flynn is going to present serious troubles if Flynn starts asking for the reporting to open up all these investigation on Donald Trump. And as it turns out, January 6th (that’s January 4th when Strzok goes to check if that investigation is still open, because he sees an opportunity there), on January 6th when Brennan, Comey, Clapper, when they brief the Intelligence Community Assessment to Donald Trump and only Comey sticks around to brief him about the dossier, according to the IG report one of Trump’s national security officials wants to know about Steele’s sources. Right now, the FBI is starting to understand that they are in trouble, because people are going to start to look. It’s imperative that they go after Gen. Flynn, because Gen. Flynn is the biggest problem for them. It’s an enormous cover-up move, and I know we want to talk a little bit about the Russia disinformation aspect as well. This is also part of the cover-up. But what these documents show is that now they are starting to give us dates, right? Exactly when they started going after Gen. Flynn after the election because they knew he was going to be trouble.
-----
A massive cover-up operation to obscure what they did, to hide what they did. After they target Gen. Flynn and they get him removed from the White House, the next step is to have the then Attorney General Jeff Sessions recuse himself. Now they are on a roll. What happens next is James Comey goes and testifies before the House Intelligence Committee and he basically lays out an obstruction trap saying, ‘yes, we have an investigation going on in so many words against the President.’ He was very careful in his wording but he let it be known there was investigation against the President of the United States. At that point the President’s legal team would have said anything you do right now might lead to trouble. They might try to roll this into an obstruction charge. The next thing we have is in May a Special Counsel is appointed, after Comey is fired. So the reigns of the coup and the reins of the cover-up are handed from James Comey to Robert Mueller.
-----
It’s important for people to understand what mattered to these media organizations was not simply that they were motivated by an anti-Trump animus. It is essential to understand they were not merely complicit, they were not duped, they were not fooled into believing it [Russia Collusion]. They were platforms for this entire operation. Without the press none of this could have happened. They are the essential components of this entire operation targeting Trump and targeting Trump officials.
-----
These people [the media] will never admit, these journalists, especially those deeply involved in it, those who have covered this, those who have pushed this operation, are in their late 20s and early 30s – they may live for another 50 years – I can guarantee you they will guard this for the rest of their lives. There will be no time ever that they will ever reconsider what they did. Because it’s not as though they were fooled, they weren’t tricked, they participated in an operation with the Intelligence Community. It doesn’t get any more third-world than that. When the Ministry of the Interior [FBI] coordinates with the Ministry of Information [media]. And in the third-world they never say we were wrong. They just roll it into another operation.

1. On August 10, 2016 Jonathan MOFFA (FBI Intelligence Section Chief), Christopher BORT (ODNI National Intelligence Officer), Dennis THRASHER (FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst) and Matthew SMITH (Dept. Homeland Security, Director of Cybersecurity Solutions) held a meeting at the White House with Obama's Chief of Staff Denis McDonough).

2. Later that same day (August 10) MOFFA, THRASHER and the FBI Crossfire Hurricane team opened counterintelligence cases on Trump Campaign associates Carter Page, Paul Manafort and George Papadopoulos.

Obama knew. Not that there was any doubt.

JANUARY 3, 2016

"Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you," said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer Tuesday evening on MSNBC after host Rachel Maddow informed him that intelligence sources told NBC news that the briefing had not been delayed.

JANUARY 4, 2016

The FBI took steps in early 2017 to close its investigation into former Trump adviser Michael Flynn before abruptly reversing course... But messages later that afternoon [January 4] between senior agents and FBI officials show a last-minute reversal, driven by discussions at the bureau’s highest levels.

“Hey, don’t close RAZOR,” FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok wrote to an agent whose name is redacted but is identified in the conversation as the official case agent. He adds, “7th floor involved,” a reference to the highest echelons of FBI leadership.

Oh wait. Never mind - I knew nothing. I was lying and made it all up.

Why didn't Farkas' testimony given nearly three years ago leak?

---------------------

But Farkas sang a different tone under oath when questioned by lawmakers about what she actually “knew” about collusion.

“Why don’t we go back to that sentence that I just asked you about. It says ‘the Trump folks, if they found out how we knew what we knew about their staff dealing with Russians,” Gowdy said. “Well, how would you know what the U.S. government knew at that point? You didn’t work for it, did you?”

“I didn’t,”
said Farkas, a former mid-level Russia analyst who left the federal government in 2015.

“Then how did you know?” Gowdy responded.

“I didn’t know anything,” Farkas said.

“Did you have information connecting the Trump campaign to the hack of the DNC?” Gowdy asked.

“No,” Farkas admitted.

“So when you say, ‘We knew,’ the reality is you knew nothing,” Gowdy asked later during the deposition.

“Correct,” Farkas responded.

Gowdy didn’t stop there.

“So when you say ‘knew,’ what you really meant was felt?” he asked.

“Correct,” Farkas answered.

“You didn’t know anything?” Gowdy continued.

“That’s correct,” Farkas responded.

January 5: Yates, Comey, CIA Director John Brennan, and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper briefed Obama on Russia-related matters in the Oval Office. Biden and Rice also attended.... It was this meeting that Rice memorialized in a bizarre inauguration-day email to herself that claimed Obama told the gathered to do everything “by the book.” But Rice also noted in her email that the key point of discussion in that meeting was whether and how to withhold national security information, likely including details of the investigation into Trump himself, from the incoming Trump national security team.

January 6: An ostensibly similar briefing about Russian interference efforts during the 2016 campaign was given to President-elect Trump. After that briefing, Comey privately briefed Trump on the most salacious and absurd “pee tape” allegation in the Christopher Steele dossier... He did not mention the dossier was completely unverified or that it was the product of a secretly funded operation by the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee.

January 10: In an amazing coincidence, CNN found the excuse to publish the Russia claims after a high-level Obama intelligence operative leaked that Comey had briefed Trump about the dossier. This selective leak, which was credulously accepted by CNN reporters Evan Perez, Jim Sciutto, Jake Tapper and Carl Bernstein...

January 12: The next part of the strategy was the explosive leak to David Ignatius of the Washington Post to legitimize the use against Flynn of the Logan Act, a likely unconstitutional 1799 law prohibiting private individuals, not public incoming national security advisors, from discussing foreign policy with foreign governments...

January 23: Another important criminal leak was given to Ellen Nakashima and Greg Miller of the Washington Post, also based on criminal leaks. Their article, headlined “FBI reviewed Flynn’s calls with Russian ambassador but found nothing illicit,” was intended to make Flynn feel safe and put him at ease about the FBI stance on those calls the day before they planned to ambush him in an interview...

Just a broad inquiry. Who do you think is most likely to face criminal charges?

I appreciate your opinion on this.

I'll be completely honest. I don't think anyone is going to be indicted or criminally charged. I hope I'm wrong.

I would think that FBI agent Kevin Clinesmith is in the most danger because he clearly altered documents in order to bolster a FISA warrant. Second would be FBI agent Peter Strzok because he clearly edited and changed another FBI agent's 302 report in order to make Flynn look like he lied.

But I would be shocked if they get anything more than a reprimand.

Unless Durham can get someone on the inside to turn against the cabal of plotters I think everyone gets away with it. Or unless Mike Rogers has a ton of evidence about the illegal unmasking.

Was reading Susan Rice's (Obama's National Security Advisor) testimony to the House.

Like every other Obama official, when they testified under oath they all said there was no evidence of any collusion with Russia. Despite saying the opposite on TV. Why was Schiff saying they were all testifying there was evidence?

What was the evidence that Gen. Michael Flynn was a Russian agent? He thought China was a bigger threat than Russia. That was the pretext to spy on him. JFC.

Well then. The NY Times story that headed this thread is revealed to have been 100% fake. At least 85% fake.

1-Internal FBI doc:
FBI's Peter Strzok on NYT article:
"This statement is misleading and inaccurate as written. We have not seen evidence of any individuals in contact with Russians (both Governmental and non-Governmental)"
2-and FBI's Peter Strzok on NYT article: "There is no known intel affiliation, and little if any [government of Russia] affiliation[.]"
3-and FBI's Peter Strzok on NYT article:
"FBI investigation has shown past contact between [Trump campaign volunteer Carter] Page and the SVR [Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation], but not during his association with the Trump campaign."
4-Claim in NYT article: "... one of the advisers picked up on the [intercepted] calls was Paul Manafort, who was Mr. Trump's campaign chairman for several months ..."
Note by Strzok: "We are unaware of any calls with any Russian government official in which Manafort was a party."
5-Claim in NYT article: "The FBI has obtained banking and travel records ..."
Note by Strzok: "We do not yet have detailed banking records."
6-Claim in NYT article: "Officials would not disclose...how many of Trump's advisers were talking to the Russians."
Note by Strzok: "Again, we are unaware of ANY Trump advisers engaging in conversations with Russian intel officials"...
7-And note by FBI's Peter Strzok re: NYT article:
and "Our [FBI] coverage has not revealed contact between Russian intelligence officers and the Trump team."
8-Claim in NYT article: "The FBI asked the NSA to collect as much information as possible about the Russian operatives on the phone calls ..."
Note by Strzok: "If they did we are not aware of those communications."
9-Claim in NYT article: "The FBI has closely examined at least four other people close to Mr. Trump ... Carter Page ... Roger Stone... and Mr. Flynn."
Note by Strzok: "We have not investigated Roger Stone."
10-Claim by NYT: "Senior FBI officials believe ... Christopher Steele ... has a credible track record."
Note by Strzok: "Recent interviews and investigation, however, reveal Steele may not be in a position to judge the reliability of subsource network."
11-Claim by NYT: "The FBI's investigation into Mr. Manafort began last spring [2016]."
Note by Strzok: "This is inaccurate ... our investigation of Manafort was opened in August 2016."
12-Claim by NYT: "The bureau did not have enough evidence to obtain a warrant for a wiretap of Mr. Manafort's communications, but it had the NSA closely scrutinize the communications of Ukrainian officials he had met.
"Note by Strzok: "This is inaccurate ..."

Welp. It's all over but the trials. The entire thing is/was a political hoax just as everyone suspected.

An FBI agent who played a lead role investigating Michael Flynn told the Justice Department there was never evidence of wrongdoing by the retired general or Russian collusion by President Trump, but the probe was kept open by Special Counsel Robert Mueller because his team had a "get Trump" goal, according to an explosive interview released Friday.

It's been a long time coming but Durham is now filing indictments proving that the entire Russia-Collusion Hoax was in fact a knowing and deliberate fabrication spawned by the Hillary Clinton campaign and then carried to maturity by the willing media and complicit FBI and IC.

Perkins Coie lawyer Michael Sussman, who represented and worked on behalf of the DNC, the Hillary Clinton campaign, and Fusion GPS, has been indicted for giving false statements to FBI General Counsel James Baker.

"Despite all this, this fraud — one of so many that formed the Russiagate scandal — played a significant role in shaping media coverage of the 2016 election. Spurred on by Hillary Clinton herself, the liberal sector of the corporate media used this fake claim to bolster their narrative that Trump and the Russians were secretly in cahoots. And the story of how they spread this disinformation involves not just the potential criminality outlined in this indictment of Hillary's lawyer but, even more seriously, a rotted and deeply corrupted media."

Charles Dolan [Clinton advisor] feeds story to Danchenko.
Danchenko feeds story to Steele.
Steele feeds story to Fusion.
Fusion feeds story to media.
Media accuses Trump of Russia collusion.

Special Counsel John Durham has now alleged in a federal indictment that Clinton paid shill Steele’s primary and only real “source” *fabricated* that Trump, Carter Page and Paul Manafort were involved in a “well-developed conspiracy of cooperation” with Russia.

The FBI literally cut and pasted that exact wording of a “well-developed conspiracy” into a FISA warrant and multiple renewals (Including one signed off after Robert Mueller took over).

The FBI then redacted the “well-developed conspiracy of cooperation” wording from the FISAs when they were released. Because by this time, they’d interviewed Steele’s “source” & *knew he was lying*. And wanted to protect the lie they’d sworn to in a secret court.

Adam Schiff also tried to cover for this by claiming that the FISAs didn’t really use much of the dossier - “narrow use” he said. Because of the redactions, you couldn’t tell he was lying at the time (or being lied to by the feds he was supposed to be doing oversight on).

If Durham wants to look into a “conspiracy” that actually exists - there is one right there. Between an FBI protecting fabricators because they’d used their lies in court, and folks like Schiff desperate to help hide the truth - all to keep the Russian Collusion Big Lie going.

Oh, and Steele’s fabricating “source” claimed the “well-developed conspiracy” lie came from “Source E,” (and also lied that this was Sergei Millian) - a lie the WaPo, NYT and virtually all media also ran with for years - usual story there).

Steele’s source ALSO attributed “confirmation” of the “pee tape” crap to “Source E” as well. So like we knew all along, but the entire media pretended not to know, that was always straight up made up. The guy has been arrested for fabricating this stuff & lying about it.

Durham’s also just helped make clear why the dossier is a total mess when it comes to Sources “E” and “D” and getting them mixed up. It’s not some “James Bond” spy craft deliberate obfuscation. Steele just couldn’t keep track of all of the lies he was being fed, creating, or both.

EYE ON THE BALL: Steele was the guy who paid this fabricator & had him on payroll. But he was just the cutout. It was Clinton’s campaign that paid Steele for the fabricated Collusion Hoax This *all* goes back to Clinton, and always did.

In the indictment and recent court filings that widen the case, Durham accused Joffe of exploiting Neustar’s nonpublic data to monitor Trump’s Internet activities even after the 2016 election – through early 2017. He shared the sensitive information with Sussmann, who in turn gave it to the CIA. The prosecutor said Joffe mined data from Trump Tower, Trump’s Central Park West apartment building and even the Executive Office of the President “for the purpose of gathering derogatory information about Donald Trump.”

According to court papers, Joffe cherry-picked data to create a "narrative” that Trump was secretly communicating with the Kremlin as part of the Clinton campaign’s effort to make the GOP nominee look like he was compromised by Russia, a foreign adversary. Before the election, Joffe led a team of computer researchers vying for a major Pentagon contract to link Trump to Russian Alfa Bank through private DNS logs. He handed off their findings to Sussmann who fed the data to the FBI to drive an investigation and bad press against Trump.

“The data was highly manipulated,” said Robert Graham of Atlanta-based Errata Security, an independent cyberforensics expert who examined the logs and debunked the link at the time. He suspects Joffe and his biased crew set out to invent a connection between Trump and Russia.

“A link between Trump and Alfa bank wasn’t something they accidentally found, it was one of the many thousands of links they looked for,” he added. “The purpose was to smear Trump.”

Though Graham as a Clinton supporter shares Joffe’s disdain for Trump, he said the suspicious server data were easily explained as innocent spam traffic. Graham noted that Trump didn’t even have control over the domain in question: trump-email.com. It was created by a hotel marketing firm that inserted Trump’s name in the domain.

The CIA reviewed the Trump/YotaPhone data (and the Alfa Bank data) in early 2017. The fact that the CIA accepted this data on President Trump is its own scandal. In any event, the CIA’s findings are significant, as they concluded that the data was not “technically plausible” and was “user created and not machine/tool generated.”

Newly released notes taken by high-level Department of Justice (DOJ) officials during a March 6, 2017, meeting with FBI leadership expose some of the lengths the FBI went to, to cover up its spying on the 2016 campaign of President Donald Trump.

https://www.theepochtimes.com/new-doj-notes-reveal-fbi-panic-after-trump-tweeted-he-knew-he-was-being-spied-on_4455950.html

Notes of an FBI briefing in March 2017 indicate since-fired bureau agent Peter Strzok spread incorrect details about the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation.

Strzok incorrectly claimed in his 2020 book, Compromised, that Australian diplomat Alexander Downer was spurred to inform the U.S. government about a May 2016 conversation he had in London with George Papadopoulos (in which the Trump campaign associate allegedly mentioned Russia might have dirt on Hillary Clinton) only after hearing then-candidate Donald Trump say in July 2016: “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails.”

It now appears he also made that false claim in March 2017 when briefing Justice Department and FBI officials about the Trump-Russia investigation. Strzok admitted in September 2020 he had gotten that detail wrong in his book, though he downplayed it.

The Russiagate saga began in early 2016 as a scheme by Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign to vilify her rival, Donald Trump, as an agent of the Kremlin. Clinton’s scheme comprised two prongs: former British spy Christopher Steele’s fictitious dossier and Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann’s false Alfa Bank data.

While special counsel John Durham’s Russiagate investigation, having focused on those two prongs, is now in serious jeopardy with the acquittal of Sussmann, very little attention has been paid to how the FBI weaponized Clinton’s scheme to turn up the heat on Trump.

Documents made public at Sussmann’s trial add to a growing body of evidence that Clinton’s scheme gradually converged with FBI leadership’s own scheme. What started out as a political smear campaign carried out by a political candidate became co-opted by the nation’s top law enforcement agency to not only damage a sitting president, but to try to remove him from office.

As nefarious as the Clinton campaign’s scheme was, the FBI’s conduct was much worse.

By the time the FBI opened its Crossfire Hurricane investigation into the Trump campaign on July 31, 2016—supposedly because of a tip it had received three days earlier from an Australian diplomat—the Clinton campaign’s scheme to vilify Trump as a Russian agent and the FBI’s own efforts against Trump had started to amalgamate.

Steele—who had been hired by Clinton operatives at Fusion GPS in May 2016—passed an early dossier report to his FBI handler on July 5, 2016. That dossier report established the narrative that the Kremlin had Trump compromised.

Steele’s FBI handler, Michael Gaeta, passed Steele’s dossier report to an FBI colleague in the New York office, who then passed it up the ladder to the FBI’s counterintelligence team. Later in July 2016, Gaeta received two additional reports from Steele that he also sent up his chain of command.

Officially, the dossier didn’t reach the FBI Crossfire Hurricane team investigating the Trump campaign until two months later, on Sep. 19, 2016.

Unofficially, Steele’s conspiracy theories had made their way up the FBI chain within weeks of Gaeta getting the first report. According to the inspector general’s report on the Crossfire Hurricane investigation, high-level FBI officials were already aware of the dossier’s existence, including at FBI headquarters.

Further evidence that an informal FBI investigation was well underway before the Australian diplomat’s tip arrived comes in the form of text messages between the FBI’s then-counterespionage chief Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, counsel for FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe. In one exchange dated July 27, 2016, Strzok and Page talk about opening a case on Trump.

On July 28, 2016, intelligence services shared intercepted communications with then-President Barack Obama claiming that Clinton had greenlighted a scheme to vilify Trump with false accusations of Russia collusion. During Sussmann’s trial, Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook confirmed that Clinton had greenlighted the leak of the false allegations to the media. But the FBI ignored the intelligence.

A day later, on July 29, 2016, the two prongs of Clinton’s scheme converged when the main protagonists met at the law offices of Perkins Coie in Washington. Attendees included Sussmann, Steele, the heads of Fusion GPS, and lead Clinton campaign lawyer Marc Elias.

It was at that meeting, according to testimony by Steele to a British court, that he was told about the Alfa scheme. These allegations were then included in a memo by Steele dated Sep. 14, 2016, just days before Sussmann would take the Alfa Bank data to the FBI.

Steele testified in a British court that Sussmann provided him with other claims about Alfa Bank’s purported ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin during a late July 2016 meeting.

While the two prongs of the Clinton campaign’s dirty tricks campaign against Trump had merged, they hadn’t yet been fully integrated into the FBI leadership’s own plans to pursue Trump.

That would happen two months later, on Sep. 19, 2016, the day when Sussmann took the false Alfa Bank data to the FBI. It was the same day the FBI officially received the Steele dossier.

Sussmann’s data was almost immediately dismissed by FBI cyber analysts. The day after Sussmann’s visit, lead cyber agent Scott Hellman mocked Sussmann’s data in text messages sent to his unit leader, Nate Batty.

In one of the messages, Hellman sarcastically wrote that if he wanted to open a secret communications channel, he would call it “Scott.Hellmann-email.com,” deriding the fact that Sussmann’s Alfa data had used the address “mail1.Trump-email.com,” an address that hadn’t been used since 2009, but suddenly saw a flurry of activity just before Sussmann took his data to the FBI.

Despite the fact that Sussmann’s Alfa Bank story was obviously fabricated, FBI leadership overruled their cyber experts and ordered their Chicago office—far away from their own cyber group—to open a full investigation.

Soon after, in October 2016, the FBI obtained a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign via foreign policy adviser Carter Page. That warrant was obtained on the basis of the fraudulent Steele dossier.

By this time, it was clear that the Clinton campaign and the FBI were pursuing the same goal. All the various schemes had merged into one big scheme to get Trump.

When Trump won the 2016 election despite the smears, the FBI’s actions shifted into overdrive. Trump may well have won because the corporate media—which at that time still by and large adhered to journalistic standards—never fully embraced the Clinton campaign’s dirty tricks.

Most media outlets refused to run with the Steele dossier because they couldn’t confirm any of its stories. The New York Times refused to endorse the Alfa Bank story for the same reason, even conceding that “there could be an innocuous explanation, like a marketing email or spam, for the computer contacts.”

FBI leadership understood that in order for any scheme to succeed, the media needed a new hook, and deputy director McCabe, who later admitted to lying about his media contacts, knew how to provide that hook.

When the intelligence community wrote its post-election intelligence community assessment of alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election, McCabe insisted on including the Steele dossier. Rank-and-file analysts didn’t agree, as nothing in the dossier had been confirmed. A compromise was reached whereby a summary of Steele’s dossier was included in the assessment. The thrust of the summary was that Trump had been compromised by Putin. This was good enough for the FBI. By including it in a formal intelligence community report, the FBI ensured that the dossier obtained legitimacy. FBI Director James Comey then briefed Trump on the dossier on Jan. 6, 2017.

The fact that Trump had been briefed was then leaked to CNN, which reported the story. From then on, there was only one topic for the media and that was the dossier, including all of its salacious lies.

The FBI had successfully weaponized the Clinton campaign’s dirty trick. Even the false Alfa Bank story made a comeback in the media. In fact, the FBI knew that both prongs of Clinton’s dirty trick were bogus. The Alfa case had been shut down in January 2017. At the same time, the Steele dossier was exposed as a fraud by Igor Danchenko, Steele’s primary sub-source. Yet FBI leadership persisted in their investigation of Trump.

On March 4, 2017, Trump wrote on Twitter that he knew he had been spied on. Two days later, a panicked FBI and their Department of Justice (DOJ) supervisors convened a meeting to discuss Trump’s Twitter post. It was at this meeting that FBI leaders such as McCabe gave their DOJ counterparts a rosy status report on their investigation, concealing the fact that all investigative leads had collapsed. Through their deceit, FBI leadership was able to convince their DOJ superiors to approve a public announcement that the Trump campaign was under investigation for Russia collusion. That bombshell announcement was made by Comey on March 20, 2017.

The FBI’s efforts culminated in May 2017 with the appointment of Robert Mueller as special counsel.

Ultimately, Trump hung on, but the damage caused by the FBI’s assault on him was immense. His first few years in office were consumed by Mueller and the fake scandal. Crucially, Trump wasn’t able to deliver on his campaign promise to seek better relations with Russia. Every time Trump tried to engage Russia, the media and Washington establishment lashed out.

When Trump met Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the White House in May 2017, he was immediately accused of passing along state secrets. National security adviser H.R. McMaster even had to hold a press conference to deny the story.

When Trump met Putin in Helsinki in 2018, the press coverage bordered on hysteria, to the point where the media pondered whether a soccer ball that Putin gave Trump as a gift might have been bugged. At no point during his four-year presidency was Trump given an opportunity to have a meaningful dialogue with Russia. A direct consequence of that is the situation we now see in Ukraine.

The untold story of Russiagate is how the FBI, by weaponizing the Clinton campaign’s dirty tricks, changed the course of a presidency.

And yet, other than a lowly FBI lawyer who got off with a slap on the wrist for doctoring evidence, no one from the FBI has been charged with any crime.

The significance of the FBI’s lies was accentuated this week at Sussmann’s trial when Scott Hellman, an FBI cyber analyst, testified that he knew right away in September 2016 that Sussmann’s data did not suggest any covert communications between Trump and Russia. Hellman added that he wondered if the person who put together the data was suffering from a mental disability.

Hellman’s testimony is the clearest evidence yet that the FBI knew from the start that one of the two major components of the Trump Russia collusion narrative – the Alfa Bank data – was false. As the March 6 notes show, they concealed this fact from their DOJ superiors.

The other major component of the investigation was the Steele dossier. The FBI knew from a January 2017 interview of Igor Danchenko, Christopher Steele’s “Primary Sub-Source” through whom all the allegations in the Steele dossier were originated or channeled, that the dossier too was false.

Danchenko’s most shocking revelation to the FBI was that he had never met Sergei Millian, the attributed source for the Steele dossier’s most inflammatory claims, including [1] the allegation that there was a “well-developed conspiracy of cooperation” between Trump and the Kremlin, [2] that Russia passed hacked Democratic National Committee emails to WikiLeaks, as well as [3] the infamous Moscow pee tape story.

FBI leadership also pushed the narrative on their DOJ counterparts that the dossier was “CROWN reporting,” implying that the dossier was an official United Kingdom intelligence product when it was actually made-up stories and gossip and paid for by the Clinton campaign
