US spy agencies secretly surveil Republican Presidential candidate
Posted by: The Real Reporter ()
Date: February 15, 2017 09:03AM

US spy agencies admitted today that they secretly listened in and recorded telephone conversations of the staff of Republican Presidential candidates and then leaked the information to US news media and Democrat Party operatives in an attempt to influence the US elections.

In a desperate attempt to discredit Trump and win the election for Hillary the NSA, FBI and other Obama-controlled agencies conducted a secret operation attempting to find dirt on Trump and ensure a Democrat victory in 2016. They admit they operated under the pretext of investigating national security concerns while continually leaking the information to the press.

Concerns continue to grow that the dark agencies are really the people controlling our government and not elected officials.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/14/us/politics/russia-intelligence-communications-trump.html?_r=0

Oh, and The intelligence agencies then sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election.

The officials interviewed in recent weeks said that, so far, they had seen no evidence of such cooperation.

That sure is one way to spin the story. Only goes to show how the take on a story can be manipulated.

This is what needs to be investigated:

The intelligence agencies then sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election.

What techniques and methods did the "intelligence agencies" use to surveil the Trump campaign? Who authorized this? Did they leak their findings to the media or Trump opponents? Was this really a legitimate concern or a political witchunt?

In fact, as this article points out - Obama specifically issued new rules regarding NSA spying on Americans in order to make it easier for Obamabots in the spy agencies to carry out their coup against the new government. It's an attempted coup folks. Plain and simple.

good thing they did - look what they are up to - using encrypted phones to negotiate against a sitting President Obama in secret. That doesnt even consider the fact the Russians definitely were spying, hacking against the Democrats and promoting Trump.

Thanks for having our back President Obama

Wow. Great details on how the attempt to influence the US Election by the spooks was done.

The first [FISA] request, which, sources say, named Trump, was denied back in June, but the second was drawn more narrowly and was granted in October

Basically this means as far back as June 2016 the Obama administration was secretly recording Trumps communication's. This is a bombshell. BOMBSHELL.

This is diabolically evil and dangerous stuff. Domestic spying for political purposes. Banana Republic.

Dude. If they had any of the targets in an actual recorded conversation doing anything illegal - we would all know about it. Would have known about it months ago. They would have leaked it. They have leaked everything else. The fact that they have no evidence of anything is all you need to know.

http://nypost.com/2017/02/16/bogus-times-scoops-on-trump-russia-are-recycled-propaganda/

Hostile, hysterical reporting based on anonymous leaks provides no hard facts — just “narratives” that could come out of a creative writing class.

Take Wednesday’s breathless New York Times story, “Trump Aides Had Contact With Russian Intelligence” — which was remarkable for containing the same facts the Times reported back in October as “Investigating Donald Trump, FBI Sees No Clear Link to Russia.”

Both reports say various Trumpites talked to figures in Russia’s government — but that US investigators found nothing to show they’d discussed the US election, or that anyone on Team Trump was even aware of any effort by Moscow to influence it.

Oh, and the Times also reported Jan. 19, “Intercepted Russian Communiques Part of Inquiry Into Trump Associates.”

How many times can the Times recycle the same stuff and still call it news?

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-02-16/civil-war-control-us-government-has-erupted-between-deep-state-and-donald-trump

And now that this “civil war” has begun, it is being reported that there are some within the intelligence community that are absolutely determined to destroy Donald Trump. In fact, one former NSA analyst says that he got a message from a friend still inside the intelligence community that stated that Trump “will die in jail” once this civil war is over…

Finally someone asking the right questions.

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/445045/general-michael-flynn-national-security-adviser-fbi-investigation-phone-call-russian-ambassador

There appears to have been no foreign-intelligence or criminal-investigative purpose served by the FBI’s interrogation of General Flynn. It is easy to see why Democrats would want to portray Flynn’s contact with the Russian ambassador as worthy of an FBI investigation. But why did the FBI and the Justice Department investigate Flynn — and why did “officials” make sure the press found out about it?

The stories currently are three-fold:

first, that Obama’s team tried to get a warrant from a regular, Article III federal court on Trump, and was told no by someone along the way (maybe the FBI), as the evidence was that weak or non-existent;

second, Obama’s team then tried to circumvent the federal judiciary’s independent role by trying to mislabel the issue one of “foreign agents,” and tried to obtain a warrant from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act “courts”, and were again turned down, when the court saw Trump named (an extremely rare act of FISA court refusal of the government, suggesting the evidence was truly non-existent against Trump); and so,

third, Obama circumvented both the regular command of the FBI and the regularly appointed federal courts, by placing the entire case as a FISA case (and apparently under Sally Yates at DOJ) as a “foreign” case, and then omitted Trump’s name from a surveillance warrant submitted to the FISA court, which the FISA court unwittingly granted, which Obama then misused to spy on Trump and many connected to Trump

No, the real 3-fold story is:

1) Obama and his administration are guilty once the evidence is released.

2) The Marx-0-Progs are liars.

3) The Fake News is just as fake and lying as always.

Backpedaling begins:

Clapper was also asked on "Meet the Press" if he had any evidence that the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russian government while the Kremlin was working to influence the election.

"Not to my knowledge," Clapper said, based on the information he had before his time in the position ended.

"We did not include anything in our report … that had any reflect of collusion between members of the Trump campaign and the Russians. There was no evidence of that included in our report," he said. "We had no evidence of such collusion."

https://www.wsj.com/articles/trump-accuses-obama-of-wire-tapping-in-october-1488637355

Strange though - he also says:

When Todd asked him whether he could confirm or deny if a FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court Act) order for this existed, Clapper declared, "I can deny it."

Asked again whether there was a FISA Court order to monitor Trump Tower, Clapper said, "Not to my knowledge."

Clapper said that if any wiretap like that occurred, he would "certainly hope" that he would be aware of it.

"I can't speak for other authorized entities in the government or a state or local entity," he added.

So was the Fake News Media lying are is Clapper lying? Or do we need a lawyer to parse through what he is denying. I suspect all three. He appears to be making a very narrowly constructed denial of the FISA order.

So are you saying that the FISA tapping happened and that there are recordings and transcripts of Russian collusion as lib media and Dems have been claiming for months or that there was no tapping and no evidence as they're now saying after Trump raised the rather obvious related question of, if so, then how and where the tapping was done? It's getting hard to keep track of the various directions that you're backpedalling in lately.

Democrats’ efforts to raise suspicions about alleged — and, thus far, imaginary — links between President Donald Trump’s campaign and the Russian government may have backfired spectacularly.

The spotlight is now on President Barack Obama and his administration’s alleged surveillance of the Trump campaign, as well as his aides’ reported efforts to spread damaging information about Trump throughout government agencies to facilitate later investigations and, possibly, leaks to the media.

... it cannot be glossed over that, at the very time it appears the Obama Justice Department was seeking to surveil Trump and/or his associates on the pretext that they were Russian agents, the Obama Justice Department was also actively undermining and ultimately closing without charges the criminal investigation of Hillary Clinton despite significant evidence of felony misconduct that threatened national security.

This appears to be extraordinary, politically motivated abuse of presidential power.

The White House acknowledged Tuesday there are people working in the government who are likely part of what has been called the "deep state" – an inner core of Obama loyalists seeking to stop the Trump presidency.

During Tuesday's White House press briefing, Newsmax's John Gizzi asked White House press secretary Sean Spicer about David Horowitz's new book "Big Agenda" and claims Horowitz has made that a "deep state" has been seeking to undermine President Trump.

"This has been widely repeated on social media: Does the president himself believe in this deep state?" Gizzi asked.

Spicer replied: "I've been asked this question before, and I'll give you the same answer I've given before. This has been going on since the country came to be, where people burrow in after an administration into a civil servant job."
He added, ominously, "But, sure, there are people after eight years of Obama that found their way into government, so it should be no huge secret."

Last week, Trump confidant and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich also said the deep state is real.

"Of course, the deep state exists," Gingrich said. "There's a permanent state of massive bureaucracies that do whatever they want and set up deliberate leaks to attack the president.

"This is what the deep state does: They create a lie, spread a lie, fail to check the lie, and then deny that they were behind the lie."

Comey and the Deep State Spooks are liars. They have been dissembling and being disingenuous and lawyerly with their testimony.

https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-03-22/nunes-says-trump-team-communications-caught-in-u-s-surveillance

House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes said Wednesday that the U.S. intelligence community collected multiple conversations involving members of Donald Trump’s transition team after he won the election last year.

The disclosure may bolster Trump’s effort to back up his disputed claim in Twitter postings that former President Barack Obama tapped his phones, which his spokesman later said shouldn’t be taken literally and referred generally to having his team under surveillance.

IT'S NOT OK FOR SPOOKS AND POLITICIANS TO USE OUR INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES TO UNDERMINE AND CONSPIRE AGAINST THE DULY ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

WE HAVE THE RULE OF LAW FOR A REASON.

LAWLESS OBAMA AND HIS HACKS MUST BE BROUGHT DOWN!

Members of the Donald Trump transition team, possibly including Trump himself, were under U.S. government surveillance following November’s presidential election, House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) told reporters Wednesday.

Nunes said the surveillance appeared to be legal but that he was concerned because it was not related to the FBI’s investigation into Russia’s meddling in the election and was widely disseminated across the intelligence community.

Nunes said his new information appears to show that additional members of the Trump transition team — beyond former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn — were unmasked. This means they were identified in U.S. intelligence reports.

He said the information that he had seen and was disseminated across the intelligence community appeared to him to have "little or no apparent intelligence value."

You mean like when he let Hillary off the hook?

Saying, "Although there is evidence of ...violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case."

Yeah, by not prosecuting Hillary he helped Trump win. Sure.

This is why none of the data-collection and surveillance should ever be allowed. We are trusting the government and the spooks themselves to be honest players and subject to the rule of law. Now they show themselves to be political hacks and dishonest usurpers. Do away with these spy programs. Repeal the laws. Take away the spooks toys. We can't trust them.

And here it comes...
http://freebeacon.com/national-security/intelligence-reports-reveal-improper-political-surveillance-trump-transition-team/

House intelligence committee investigation took a dramatic shift this week after newly disclosed intelligence reports suggested the Obama administration improperly gathered and disseminated secret electronic communications from President Trump and his transition team prior to inauguration.

The explosive reports uncovered by Nunes contradict public testimony Monday by FBI Director James Comey and National Security Agency Director Adm. Mike Rogers.

But wait... there's more...

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/03/23/potential-smoking-gun-showing-obama-administration-spied-on-trump-team-source-says.html

Republican congressional investigators expect a potential “smoking gun” establishing that the Obama administration spied on the Trump transition team, and possibly the president-elect himself, will be produced to the House Intelligence Committee this week...

The intelligence is said to leave no doubt the Obama administration, in its closing days, was using the cover of legitimate surveillance on foreign targets to spy on President-elect Trump, according to sources.

Should point out that these "foreign targets" had NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA. These spooks knew what foreign contacts (non-Russian) Trump and his staff were calling and then monitored their conversations under the guise of normal foreign entity surveillance. Police state stuff.

Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense in the Obama Administration admits that Trump was spied on and that they tried to hide both the source and how the information was being disseminated to "the hill."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gapRNpEjXUo

The hubris is amazing.

I was urging my former colleagues, and, and frankly speaking the people on the Hill [Democrat politicians], it was more actually aimed at telling the Hill people, get as much information as you can – get as much intelligence as you can – before President Obama leaves the administration.

Because I had a fear that somehow that information would disappear with the senior [Obama] people who left; so it would be hidden away in the bureaucracy, um, that the Trump folks – if they found out HOW we knew what we knew about their, the Trump staff, dealing with Russians – that they would try to compromise those sources and methods; meaning we no longer have access to that intelligence.

So I became very worried because not enough was coming out into the open and I knew that there was more. We have very good intelligence on Russia; so then I had talked to some of my former colleagues and I knew that they were also trying to help get information to [Democrat politicians].

Now folks - that's how a police state works.

The Atlantic Council has been among the loudest voices calling for a new Cold War with Russia.

And guess who else is a senior fellow of the Atlantic Council? Dimitri Alperovitch – the founder and CTO of CrowdStrike! Alperovitch is head honcho of the Atlantic Council’s “Cyber Statecraft Initiative”.

CrowdStrike, aka Dimitri Alperovitch was the organization that initially claimed they had evidence the Russians were connected to the Trump organization. A claim they have subsequently walked back:

If you want to read a very detailed and reasonable non-Fake-News discourse of the current Russia Fake-News controversies – you won’t find a better read than this.

http://victorhanson.com/wordpress/the-russian-farce/#more-10024

Highlight:

The real scandal is probably not going to be Trump’s contacts with Russians. More likely, it will be the rogue work of a politically driven group of intelligence officers, embedded within the bureaucracy, who, either in freelancing mode, or in Henry II–Thomas Becket fashion (“Who will rid me of this meddlesome priest?”) with Obama-administration officials, began monitoring Team Trump — either directly or more likely through the excuse of inadvertently chancing upon conversations while monitoring supposedly suspicious foreign communications.

Added to this mess is the role of three unsympathetic characters who are on record as either not telling the truth, deliberately obfuscating it, or showing terrible judgement.

Obama CIA director John Brennan, who assumed that role after the still mysterious and abrupt post-election departure of David Petraeus, has a long history of political gymnastics; he has made many a necessary career readjustment to changing Washington politics. He is on record as being deceptive — he failed to reveal that the CIA intercepted Senate communications. He also stated falsely that the drone program had not resulted in a single collateral death. And, in the spirit of Obama’s new Islamic outreach, Brennan strangely suggested that jihad was a sort of personal odyssey rather than a call to use force in spreading Islamic influence. Brennan is also on record as critical of Trump: Trump “should be ashamed of himself,” Brennan said the day after the inauguration, in response to Trump’s speech to CIA staffers gathered in front of the Memorial Wall of Agency heroes.

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has in the past lied to Congress, when he assured that the NSA did not monitor the communications of American citizens. Likewise, he bizarrely asserted that the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt was largely a secular organization. And more than 50 CENTCOM officers formally accused Clapper of distorting their reports about the Islamic State. Like Brennan, Clapper has been critical of Trump, asking, “Who benefits from a president-elect trashing the intelligence community?”

During the 2016 election, FBI Director James Comey popped up to assure the nation that while Hillary Clinton had conducted herself unethically, and probably in violation of federal statutes in using her private e-mail server for government business and wiping away correspondence, her transgressions did not rise to the level of indictable offenses. It was as if the investigator Comey, rather than the appropriate federal attorney, was adjudicating the decision to charge a suspect.

Then in the final stretch of the race, Comey resurfaced to assert that “new” evidence had led him to reconsider his exculpation of Clinton. And then, on November 6, 2016, just hours before the nation went to the polls, he appeared a third time in front of cameras to reiterate his original judgment that Hillary’s transgressions did not merit further investigation, much less criminal prosecutions. The media contextualized Comey’s schizophrenia as see-saw reactions either to liberal Obama-administration pressures or to near revolts among the more conservative FBI rank-and-file. Just as likely was Comey’s own neurotic itch to seek public attention and to position himself favorably with a likely new president.

http://circa.com/politics/barack-obama-changed-how-nsa-intercepts-of-americans-like-donald-trump-could-be-shared

Dozens of times in 2016, those intelligence reports identified Americans who were directly intercepted talking to foreign sources or were the subject of conversations between two or more monitored foreign figures. Sometimes the Americans’ names were officially unmasked; other times they were so specifically described in the reports that their identities were readily discernible. Among those cleared to request and consume unmasked NSA-based intelligence reports about U.S. citizens were Obama’s national security adviser Susan Rice, his CIA Director John Brennan and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

Simply put – this is a CRIME. Heads must roll.

Sounds like Clapper is the bad guy here...

1. The surveillance that led to the unmasking started way BEFORE Trump was the GOP nominee

2. The person who did the unmasking is very high up in the intelligence world and is not in the FBI

3. The people reported by the NY Times were not Nunes sources. They only helped him navigate the intelligence

4. Nunes was told about the unmasking of Trump’s team back in January BEFORE Trump’s tweet about Obama’s spying.

5. It took a while to coordinate Nunes seeing the intelligence reports in order to protect his source. They chose the White House because it was the only other location they could view the reporting without outing the source.

6. None of this has anything to do with Russia.

I'm tired of everyone just accepting the Dem/Media line that all these communications were obtained via “incidental collection”.

We do not know if all of this information is, in fact, incidental to the surveillance of a legitimate foreign national security target. We have been led to believe that the Flynn intercept was the result of legitimate surveillance of the Russian ambassador. However, what if that is not true? What if the information was acquired through surveillance of communications to and from Trump’s organization?

Further, what if they were monitoring foreign targets solely for the purpose of intercepting Trump and Trump associates communications? Is that legal? I.e. "we know who they are calling - so we will monitor that foreign person." That is what Farkas made it sound like they were doing. "We know who they are calling so we are listening in on those people."

Either way, it is stench.

Another nice summary here:
https://pjmedia.com/andrewklavan/2017/04/02/obama-spied-media-lied/

Once you wave away all the smoke created by our dishonest media, the story of this past week was pretty simple. The Trump-Russia-Conspiracy narrative is falling apart. The Obama-Spied-on-his-Political-Opposition narrative is coming together.

That the Obama Gang was using intelligence on Republicans to try to thwart a Trump administration from erasing Obama's legacy — that's a huge story, a scandal almost as big as the fact that Obama used the IRS to decimate the Tea Party movement. If there were even a single honest editor at the network news departments or CNN or the New York Times, this would end with some high-level Obama and Hillary cronies doing perp walks.

https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-04-03/top-obama-adviser-sought-names-of-trump-associates-in-intel

Eli Lake - who has been following the media talking points has finally cracked a little bit. He rather disingenuously states:

The standard for senior officials to learn the names of U.S. persons incidentally collected is that it must have some foreign intelligence value, a standard that can apply to almost anything. This suggests Rice's unmasking requests were likely within the law.

So Lake is revealing that Rice and the Obama administration will argue that they had a legitimate reason to spy on Trump and his staff. Of course, he makes no comment about whether it is also lawful to leak this information to the media.

But he can't deny the obvious:

But Rice's multiple requests to learn the identities of Trump officials discussed in intelligence reports during the transition period does highlight a longstanding concern for civil liberties advocates about U.S. surveillance programs.

Indeed, much about this is highly unusual: if not how the surveillance was collected, then certainly how and why it was disseminated.

Lake is full of BS though because he himself says that:

...the reports said they contained valuable political information on the Trump transition such as whom the Trump team was meeting, the views of Trump associates on foreign policy matters and plans for the incoming administration.

This is nothing short of outrageous. Nixon never did anything like this.

Tempest in a teapot. It’s pretty simple. There is a McCarthyite witch-hunt going on. Look what happened to guys like Sen. Stevens, Rep. Delay and Gov. McDonnell. Prosecuted by crooked AG’s, careers ruined and then all charges overturned and dismissed later. Who wants to deal with that? Nothing wrong with being careful.

Well, for starters no one knows what he is guilty of... someone made the mistake of thinking that feeding him to media would appease the vultures. Of course, it did not.

Rather predictably no one is denying anymore that Trump, Trump staffers and family were targeted for surveillance. The defense machine is already at work. The story is now being put out that this spying was justified.

So let's be clear. Everyone is now admitting Trump and his campaign have been spied on for over a year. But it's OK.

I hope for the sake of our country they don't get away with it.

If they had evidence of wrongdoing for over a year why has no one specified what crimes were committed and why no charge brought?

The rule of law. Correct. It is truly what makes civilized countries different than third world banana republics. I speak to many immigrants who all say the same thing.

Which is why we shouldn't be so excited that our government used spying for political purposes.

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2017/04/04/former-cia-analyst-susan-rices-nsa-demasking-denials-dont-add-up.html

Rice’s denials don’t add up. It is hard to fathom how the demasking of multiple Trump campaign and transition officials was not politically motivated.

My guess is that Rice’s demasking requests were on behalf of the Obama National Security Council and were part of a broad campaign that began in early 2016 to abuse U.S. intelligence to hurt the Trump candidacy and then his presidency.

It wouldn’t surprise me if former Deputy National Security Council Ben Rhodes was deeply involved in this campaign.

Despite determined efforts by the mainstream media to stamp out this story, the smoke of this scandal continues to grow.

Susan Rice’s interview Tuesday added more smoke.

HOWEVER - the unmasked information is still classified.

Unmasking of the information and names does not cause it to become unclassified.

So the spurious argument that the unmasking was legal still does not apply to the subsequent leaking of the unmasked information and the names of American citizens.

The disclosure of classified information remains a felony punishable by 10 years in prison under 18 U.S. Code § 798.

So basically they were listening in on all conversations, text messages, emails and any other communications he had with Trump. And anyone that worked for Trump. And any Republican politicians or staffers he communicated with. Or any policy analysts or think tanks he communicated with. And any emails or communications inbound from the same.

This is Police State tactics. Political power plays. Just like in Wisconsin.

The throwaway line: Page has not been accused of any crimes, and it is unclear whether the Justice Department might later seek charges against him or others in connection with Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election. The counterintelligence investigation into Russian efforts to influence U.S. elections began in July, officials have said. Most such investigations don’t result in criminal charges.

No matter, just like McDonnell, DeLay and Stevens - the damage has been done. Pure evil.

This is what systematic abuse of foreign-intelligence collection for domestic political purposes looks like: Intelligence collected on Americans, lawmakers, and figures in the pro-Israel community was fed back to the Obama White House as part of its political operations. The administration got the drop on its opponents by using classified information, which it then used to draw up its own game plan to block and freeze those on the other side. And—with the help of certain journalists whose stories (and thus careers) depend on high-level access—terrorize them.

HOW IS THIS NOT A STORY AND A CRIME?

In all, government officials conducted 30,355 searches in 2016 seeking information about Americans in NSA intercept metadata, which include telephone numbers and email addresses. The activity amounted to a 27.5 percent increase over the prior year and more than triple the 9,500 such searches that occurred in 2013, the first year such data was kept.

The government in 2016 also scoured the actual contents of NSA intercepted calls and emails for 5,288 Americans, an increase of 13 percent over the prior year and a massive spike from the 198 names searched in 2013.

The searches ultimately resulted in 3,134 NSA intelligence reports with unredacted U.S. names being distributed across government in 2016, and another 3,354 reports in 2015. About half the time, U.S. identities were unredacted in the original reports while the other half were unmasked after the fact by special request of Obama administration officials.

Among those whose names were unmasked in 2016 or early 2017 were campaign or transition associates of President Trump as well as members of Congress and their staffers, according to sources with direct knowledge.

Charges take time to develop after a thorough and complete investigation. Why are you so opposed to that process? Do you really want to live in some third world shit whole of a country that doesn't thoroughly investigate criminal wrongdoing before bringing charges? You have a warped view on how the criminal justice system does and should work. You have a very totalitarian viewpoint.

As pointed out earlier, you're in over you pea brained head. Graham cannot unilaterally subpoena her. There have been no regularly scheduled Committee hearings since Rice ducked Graham's request for her to appear on her own accord for the Committee to debate and vote on a subpoena. That lisping Sheldon Whitehouse can only provide her so much cover.

I know this is all way over your head because you know nothing about our government, let alone the nuances of Senate process and procedure. This is also called political theater - a term you're clearly not familiar with.

Only one post. The amount of restraint you used is remarkable!

Evidence takes many forms. Circumstantial, Direct, Forensic, Digital, Character, Demonstrative, etc. We know from past experience that Susan Rice has been flippant with the truth. We know that Susan Rice took it upon herself to undertake a mission to repetitively unmask Trump associates. Further investigation is needed to determine whether or not those unmasking requests were in violation of criminal law. If she requested the unmasking of these individuals under false pretenses (for political purposes only, e.g.) she would be in violation of 18 USC 1001.

In short, there is evidence, in fact, of an outward act that Susan Rice undertook that could be proven criminal if further evidence is uncovered.

Once again, you are quite welcome for the education you've received from me this morning.

I didn't read all that garbage. Next time keep the horseshit to a minimum. The only person that has lied is Mike Pence about knowing what Flynn talked to the Russian Ambassador about. We know the whole white house knew a full 18 days before he resigned. And Sessions about talking to the Russian Ambassador.

The traitors are the ones on the run here.

Speaking of lying Rice - I see she ducked an invitation from the Senate to testify in regard to the Russian Election Interference she was fighting so vigorously the last 18 months. A golden opportunity to explain the Obama administration's case and defend their domestic spy program. Not surprising. She will need to take the Fifth anyway.

In the latest strange twist in the investigation of Russian interference into the election, former Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice has declined to appear before the Senate Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism on Monday.

Strange but true. A top Democrat accidentally admits the truth.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday that there is so far no evidence showing collusion between Donald Trump's campaign aides and Russian officials.

Blitzer mentioned that Feinstein and other colleagues from the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence had visited CIA headquarters on Tuesday to be briefed on the investigation. He then asked Feinstein whether she had evidence ... that there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign.

"Not at this time," Feinstein said.

In dramatic testimony Monday, Obama holdover Attorney General Sally Yates testified that she warned the incoming White House its newly installed national security adviser, Michael Flynn, was “compromised” by a lie and therefore a potential “blackmail target” of the Russians. President Trump can be forgiven for ignoring her warning. It was Yates who was blackmailing him.

The principal problem for Democrats is that so many media figures and online charlatans are personally benefiting from feeding the base increasingly unhinged, fact-free conspiracies — just as right-wing media polemicists did after both Bill Clinton and Obama were elected — that there are now millions of partisan soldiers absolutely convinced of a Trump/Russia conspiracy for which, at least as of now, there is no evidence. And they are all waiting for the day, which they regard as inevitable and imminent, when this theory will be proven and Trump will be removed.

...

But with serious doubts — and fears — now emerging about what the Democratic base has been led to believe by self-interested carnival barkers and partisan hacks, there is a sudden, concerted effort to rein in the excesses of this story. With so many people now doing this, it will be increasingly difficult to smear them all as traitors and Russian loyalists, but it may be far too little, too late, given the pitched hysteria that has been deliberately cultivated around these issues for months. Many Democrats have reached the classic stage of deranged conspiracists where evidence that disproves the theory is viewed as further proof of its existence, and those pointing to it are instantly deemed suspect.

LOL. The funny thing is as Dershowitz so aptly argues - colluding with the Russians is not even illegal (unless something actually illegal was done). The whole basis of the Deep State surveilling the Trump campaign is on shaky legal ground.

“Nobody can point me to a statute that would be violated [by the Trump-Russia collusion],” Dershowitz said. “And a prosecutor is only allowed to look for evidence of a federal crime.”

It’s like the entire fabrication of a faux criminal case against former Gov. McDonnell here in the state of Virginia by the corrupt Democrat machine. Yes, McDonnell did things that on the surface were smarmy and possibly improper. But they were NOT illegal. And the Supreme Court ruled so 9-0.

Same thing with the Trump-Russia collusion story. Perhaps unseemly and inappropriate but again NOT illegal. It’s a political issue not a criminal issue.

E.g. Trump’s political opponents hired foreign companies to help them investigate and pursue anti-Trump stories. Now they weren’t Russian but they were non-US firms. Does that make it treason? Oh, they were allies of the US so it's OK. I get it.

Nada. It will be awhile until he's in the news again. Although he *might* be in trouble with the DOJ over misleading about his contacts with Russians AFTER the election - he is actually not part of the group of people suspected of campaign "collusion." It might sound confusing because the media just mixes and matches all their Russia stories into one huge lump. So it really makes no sense for Mueller to target Flynn. That investigation will stay where it is at.

This is a story that needs more investigation. Makes John Brennan's testimony and judgement even more suspect than I thought.

What happened to make 2013 so much better than the year before?

Amazon won a $600 million cloud computer contract from the CIA. That was the difference – more than the difference.

Later that year, Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post for $250 million.

To put that another way, Bezos used less than half the money he got from the CIA to buy the Washington Post.

the Washington Post often quotes unnamed CIA sources in its reporting.

Who was CIA director when this deal with the Washington Post was finalized?

John Brennan.

It was Brennan, a good friend of Obama’s, who said he believed the contacts were numerous enough to alert the FBI, which began its probe into Trump associates that same July.

Wouldn’t you like to see an investigation into the collusion between John Brennan, Jeff Bezos, Amazon, the Washington Post and the CIA?

The discredited Kushner-Russia story was a last-ditch effort to keep alive the narrative that the Trump campaign was in cahoots with Moscow. But it bombed. If anything, it showed they didn’t have substantial contacts during the election.

After all, if Kushner and Russia were arranging a “back-channel communication” in December, it means the Trump camp didn’t have one with Russia during the campaign. The WaPo’s “scoop” inadvertently blew up the media’s whole “collusion” theory.

Good News in this story. Thanks Obama, Susan, Clapper, Brennan and Comey. If not for your abuse of these powers they would not be overturned. America thanks you.

Indeed, some conservatives on Capitol Hill think intelligence sources could leak information on them too, as they did on former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and routinely flout laws sharply limiting surveillance on Americans.

“They are trying to strategize how best to attack this issue,” Rizer said, noting that he had met with several Freedom Caucus members and said that one spoke of his deep dissatisfaction with existing surveillance powers granted to intelligence agencies under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

“He said, ‘I will vote for sunset over re-authorization.’ I had never heard a Republican say that,” Rizer said, declining to identify the lawmaker.

Some lawmakers think re-authorization is in trouble without significant reforms.

“They don’t have the votes to pass it. It is that bad,” the Republican aide said.

Evidence is mounting that the entire Russia Collusion story was a plant by the Deep State eagerly utilized by the Dems.

By any balanced reckoning, the official case purporting to assign a systematic hacking effort to Russia, the events of mid-June and July 5 last year being the foundation of this case, is shabby to the point taxpayers should ask for their money back.

Unraveling of the fake story of the last 8 months.

The Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) have been investigating the now conventional wisdom that last year's leaks of Democratic National Committee files were the result of Russian hacks. What they found instead is evidence to the contrary.

The U.S. public didn't quite buy Clinton's "the Russians did it" line last year, and she lost the election. By now, though, many Americans are sold on it. That may be an Iraq-sized mistake, leading to a dangerous failure to recognize that Donald Trump's victory was an American phenomenon, not a Russian-made one.

The U.S. government under President Obama wiretapped former Trump campaign Chair Paul Manafort in New York's Trump Tower under "secret court orders before and after the election," CNN reported, citing "three sources familiar with the investigation." Assuming CNN's report is true, it means President Trump, who was ridiculed earlier this year for claiming that his iconic building had been wiretapped, has been massively vindicated. But don't hold your breath waiting for an apology.

Samantha Power, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, was ‘unmasking’ at such a rapid pace in the final months of the Obama administration that she averaged more than one request for every working day in 2016 – and even sought information in the days leading up to President Trump’s inauguration, multiple sources close to the matter told Fox News.

Two sources, who were not authorized to speak on the record, said the requests to identify Americans whose names surfaced in foreign intelligence reporting, known as unmasking, exceeded 260 last year. One source indicated this occurred in the final days of the Obama White House.

you are an idiot.

Most of the surveillance was done legally by our friends overseas who are allowed to spy on us and share information. They are actually obligated to share information. The Brits and the Australians have been feeding our people information about Trump camp and the Russians long before he announced he was running for President.

This information was part of what was presented to a FISA judge to get warrants.

A couple of months ago the head of the Australian version of the CIA, traveling to the US on a diplomatic passport, was cavity searched at LAX airport. You can't do that, and they did.

It's taking a long time but the Obama Administration and the Deep State's scheme to illegally spy on the Trump campaign and concoct the Russian Collusion deception is slowly emerging.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/two-senior-fbi-officials-on-clinton-trump-probes-exchanged-politically-charged-texts-disparaging-trump/2017/12/02/9846421c-d707-11e7-a986-d0a9770d9a3e_story.html?utm_term=.b44d2ea539e9

The former top FBI official assigned to special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s probe of Russian interference in the 2016 election was taken off that job this summer after his bosses discovered he and another member of Mueller’s team had exchanged politically charged texts disparaging President Trump and supporting Hillary Clinton, according to multiple people familiar with the matter.

Peter Strzok, as deputy head of counterintelligence at the FBI, was a key player in the investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server to do government work as secretary of state, as well as the probe into possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia in the 2016 election.

During the Clinton investigation, Strzok was involved in a romantic relationship with FBI lawyer Lisa Page, who worked for Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, according to the people familiar with the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.

Both Brennan and Clapper have shown themselves to be as virulently anti-Trump and partisan as Strzok displayed in his text messages. And let’s not forget, Clapper’s report on Russian involvement with the DNC hack and WikiLeak’s was the foundation of the fake “Seventeen Intelligence Agencies have concluded Russian hacking on behalf of Trump” talking point that emanated from the Obama Administration, was parroted by the Clinton campaign and became a montra of the New York Times, AP, CNN and most mainstream media outlets until they corrected their own record earlier this year.

Was the August 2016 decision to spy on a Trump associate based on a Clinton campaign screed’s claim of a corrupt Trump-Russia deal? Did FBI and Justice Department officials lose their professional objectivity because Steele’s information fit their anti-Trump bias? Was the Steele dossier, in effect, the “insurance policy” Agent Strzok had in mind? President Trump can provide the answers to these questions: He just needs to order the FBI and Justice Department, led by his appointees, to cooperate with Congress’s investigations.

Things are beyond brutally obvious in this entire fake news Russian conspiracy narrative.

It has been revealed that DOJ Assoc. Deputy Attorney General Bruce G Ohr was demoted because he had working relationships with Russian "dossier" author Christopher Steele and Fusion GPS, and did not reveal his October 2016 contacts with current officials.

The ongoing saga gets more sketchy as it is revealed Bruce G Ohr’s wife, Nellie H. Ohr, actually worked for Fusion GPS and likely helped guide/script the "Russian Dossier".

In October 2016, the month where a FISA Judge granted the warrant for wiretapping and surveillance, the FBI (via Agent Peter Strzok), and DOJ (via Deputy AG Bruce Ohr), were both in contact with Russian Dossier author Christopher Steele and Fusion GPS.

Nellie H. Ohr was working for Fusion GPS with expertise in Russian affairs at the time.

October 2016 is EXACTLY when The Obama administration submited a new, narrow request to the FISA court, now focused on a computer server in Trump Tower suspected of links to Russian banks. As Andrew McCarthy pointed out months ago: “No evidence is found — but the wiretaps continue, ostensibly for national security reasons. The Obama administration is now monitoring an opposing presidential campaign using the high-tech surveillance powers of the federal intelligence services.”

Are you seeing how the dots connect?

June/July 2016 a FISA request is denied. This is simultaneous to FBI agent Peter Strzok's initial contact with Christopher Steele and the preliminary draft of the dossier.

October 2016 a FISA request approved. This is simultaneous to agent Strzok and Assoc. Deputy AG Bruce G Ohr being in contact with Christopher Steele and the full dossier.

It would be EXPLOSIVE if it turned out the October 2016 FISA warrant was gained by deception, misleading/manipulated information, or fraud as a result of the Russian Dossier; and exponentially more explosive if the dossier was -in part- organized by the wife of an investigative member of the DOJ who was applying for the FISA warrant; the same warrant that led to the wiretapping and surveillance of the Trump campaign and General Flynn, and was authorized by FISA Court Judge Contreras – who was, until recently, the judge in Flynn’s case.

Don't think for a minute that those Deep State Spooks, James Clapper, John Brennan and Jim Comey were not in on this. They knew. Why do you think they were all so desperate to take down Trump quickly? Shocked that Hillary was POTUS and cover their criminal activity.

Criminals all. Just got to shake my head that smart people in the media didn't see through this. I did from day 1.

You just can't even make this stuff up:

Yet another key member of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe appears to have deep ties to the Democratic Party.

Aaron Zebley served previously as Mueller’s chief of staff at the FBI and as a senior counselor in the National Security Division at the Department of Justice. He also served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the National Security and Terrorism Unit in Alexandria, Virginia.

He is often referred to in the media as Mueller's "right-hand man."

Also, in 2015 when he was a lawyer, he represented Justin Cooper, the IT staffer who personally set up Hillary Clinton's unsecure server in her Chappaqua home, Fox News' Tucker Carlson revealed on his show Thursday.

Cooper, it so happens, is also the aide who destroyed Clinton's old BlackBerries with a hammer.

There is a growing belief among some congressional investigators that the Russians who provided information to Steele were using Steele to disrupt the American election as much as the Russians who distributed hacked Democratic Party emails. In some investigators' views, they are the two sides of the Trump-Russia project, both aimed at sowing chaos and discord in the American political system.

Investigators who favor this theory ask a sensible question: Is it likely that all the Russians involved in the attempt to influence the 2016 election were lying, scheming, Kremlin-linked, Putin-backed enemies of America – except the Russians who talked to Christopher Steele?

In one exchange, FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and bureau lawyer Lisa Page engaged in a series of texts shortly before Election Day 2016 suggesting they knew in advance about an article in The Wall Street Journal and would need to feign stumbling onto the story so it could be shared with colleagues.

Mostly though these text exchanges show that these FBI agents were partisan hacks not serious FBI agents. They were more interested in furthering the Democrats partisan agenda than anything else.

Thanks for posting this without all the "libtards" and "Trumptards" shit that clutters this forum.

It doesn't matter what you think about Trump, there is some seriously criminal acts going on from people who are supposed to have our trust.

I don't expect the CIA or FBI to be squeaky clean, but it is disheartening when they are involved in such shady political chicanery.

Thanks for posting.

Spying on the Commander and Chief of the USA Military is one reason why every illegal alien in DMV should be deported to NYC or LA, and every communist should be deported or even charged with spying*

It's for a communist to use "liberalism" and money in the USA to get elected, slime into DC, and spy on the USA.

spying on the military comes with a death penalty

In the year since BuzzFeed published the salacious dossier, we’ve discovered it was

a work product of the Clinton campaign,

commissioned by an oppo-research firm (Fusion),

compiled by a British ex-spook on the basis of anonymous sources,

and rolled out to the media in the runup to the election.

Oh, and it appears to continue to be almost entirely false.

When the best you’ve got is that a campaign orbiter made a public trip to Russia, you haven’t got much.

We do not know how many FISA-702 violations took place prior to NSA Mike Rogers initiating the full FISA-702 review in April 2016. Nor do we know who the insider FBI individuals were; or what results were passed on; or what was done with the results.

However, given the nature of what was taking place at the time (March, April, May, 2016) it appears likely this was part of the DOJ/FBI/Fusion-GPS collision to gather information on the candidacy of Donald Trump.

CTH received a tip that Fusion GPS (either ‘individuals’ or the company) were one of the “contractors” mentioned, additionally the “private entity” could also be inside the Fusion GPS network. Another “contractor” could possibly be CrowdStrike. From all appearances there were multiple people involved.

These ‘passed-along’ FISA-702 search results [violations] appear to be

the seeds which were fertilized by Glenn Simpson, Mary Jacobs, Nellie Ohr;

“unmasked” by Obama administration officials;

and enhanced/laundered by Christopher Steele – to end with a “Steele Dossier” returned to the FBI via Counterintelligence Agent Peter Strzok, DOJ Deputy Bruce Ohr, and DOJ/FBI lawyer Lisa Page, for their “insurance policy”.

The DOJ and FBI then took the dossier, full circle, back to the FISA Court to gain 702 surveillance authority and approval (media says ‘warrant’), upon the Trump Campaign (October 2016), and President-Elect (after November 8th, 2016).

A tour-de-force of the the illegal activity inside the Deep State.

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/01/19/the-evidence-inside-the-house-intel-committee-four-page-fisa-memo/

As the year-long story has unfolded, there are two central components at the heart of the political corruption and weaponization of the DOJ and FBI:

First, corruption within the DOJ and FBI that included their use of unlawful use of FISA-702 exploits;

and Second, how that intelligence information was extracted, passed along to those outside government, repackaged, and reconstituted into the “Steele Dossier”. The finished, albeit sketchy, intelligence was later returned to the FBI to request lawful FISA court surveillance authority. It is a circle of “intelligence laundering”.

The FISA ‘warrant’ request, against Carter Page, was made October 21st, 2016, under Title I of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Meaning the surveillance application was specifically stating, to the court, the U.S. individual was likely an actual agent of a foreign government, ie. “a spy.”

The DOJ (National Security Division) and the FBI (Counterintelligence Division) were not asking to review ancillary data collected on U.S. Person Carter Page as an outcome of surveillance on a foreign person, or foreign agent; that would be Title 7 (FISA-702).

In action outlined within the HPSCI memo, the DOJ and FBI were specifically telling the FISA court they had evidence that U.S. Person Carter Page was working as an agent of a foreign government. He was their target, and therefore requesting direct FISA Title 1 surveillance of that target on October 21st, 2016.

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/02/02/inside-the-hpsci-memo-a-key-distinction-being-conflated-title-i-vs-title-vii/#more-145380

Bottom line is the FBI flat out lied to the FISA court in order to spy on a US citizen for political purposes. We know this because the Page has not been charged with anything and Mueller hasn't charged him with anything. Meaning they had no real evidence back in 2016.

That is a stunning aspect. Nellie Ohr was hired by Fusion GPS in/around the end of April, beginning of May, 2016. According to the memo, while employed by the Clinton Campaign (via Fusion) to do opposition research on Donald Trump, Nellie Ohr’s findings were delivered directly to the FBI by her husband Bruce Ohr.

Mrs. Nellie Ohr’s findings were not only delivered to the FBI (likely to Peter Strzok) by her husband, DOJ Offical Bruce Ohr, but her findings were used in the FISA Court application and never revealed to the FISA Court.

As such, the Hillary Clinton campaign was funneling opposition research to the FBI through contracted agents of the campaign (Fusion) and their employees (Nellie Ohr).

The FBI then used the Clinton Opposition Research to supplement their ongoing FISA surveillance of Donald Trump campaign officials.

We suspected that was what was happening. We outlined the strong likelihood that was happening. However, yeah, that’s a big deal to see confirmed.

At this point, I believe that Trump and his campaign was never surveilled. However, they did surveil people in Trump's campaign. This requires careful legal parsing like what is "is" and what is "sex".

What did Obama know and when did he know it?

And to the point, when precisely was this human source operating? Because if it was prior to that infamous Papadopoulos tip, then the FBI isn’t being straight. It would mean the bureau was spying on the Trump campaign prior to that moment. And that in turn would mean that the FBI had been spurred to act on the basis of something other than a junior campaign aide’s loose lips.

Big story here. Finally breaking. Main thing to note is that it appears the FBI was running a sting operation. Not an investigation. That's the real reason they are trying to hide this.

The FBI formally opened its counterintelligence investigation into Russia’s efforts to influence the 2016 campaign on July 31, 2016, spurred by a report from Australian officials that Papadopoulos boasted to an Australian diplomat of knowing that Russia had damaging material about Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

The professor’s interactions with Trump advisers began a few weeks before the opening of the investigation, when Page met the professor at the British symposium.

Would lead one to believe that the Obama administration and the FBI are actually not being truthful about when and how the investigation started.

But it is backfiring. They started by telling the story of Alexander Downer, an Australian diplomat, as having remembered a bar conversation with George Papadopoulos, a foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign. But how did the FBI know they should talk to him? That’s left out of their narrative. Downer’s signature appears on a $25 million contribution to the Clinton Foundation. You don’t need much imagination to figure that he was close with Clinton Foundation operatives who relayed information to the State Department, which then called the FBI to complete the loop. This wasn’t intelligence. It was likely opposition research from the start.

More spying on an enemy political campaign. What a pile of stinking violation of law.

British and other European intelligence agencies intercepted communications between associates of Donald Trump and Russian officials and other Russian individuals during the campaign and passed on those communications to their US counterparts, US congressional and law enforcement and US and European intelligence sources tell CNN.

There are at least 2 possible scenarios:

#1 In 2016, before anybody thought Donald Trump would win, the FBI correctly anticipated the Trump campaign would be uniquely targeted by Russia & devoted extraordinary efforts to investigating it including placing at least one spy/informant close to Trump campaign & wiretapping or surveilling at least seven Trump associates— all while President Obama denied such election interference was possible— and yet in the end the FBI was still incompetent at preventing the Russian interference they'd investigated all year, and then found no grounds to open an investigation into Donald Trump until after he fired FBI Director Comey.

Or #2 The govt spied on Trump for political purposes.

Mifsud’s worldview, along with his array of European and American contacts, and the lack of response by those high-level figures to the spy charge, have led Roh to conclude that if Mifsud is working for any intelligence agency, it was Western rather than Russian. “I call him an asset, a person who cooperates in an operation, but is not a member of the team.”

If Mifsud was a Western intelligence asset, as Roh and Pastor argue, it’s still unclear what his role may have been in the Papadopoulos case. Congressional investigators on the Republican side speculate that Mifsud may have been part of a sting operation designed to open an FBI investigation on the Trump campaign.

We need to know if Mifsud was on the CIA or Deep State payroll.

Many people have noted the bizarre number of former Obama Administration DOJ, FBI and Intelligence Community officials who have gone to work within the U.S. media apparatus in order to protect their interests.

Former CIA Director John Brennan now working for NBC; former DNI James Clapper now working for CNN; former FBI Chief Legal Counsel James Baker now working for Lawfare blog; former FBI Supervisory Special Agent Josh Campbell now working for CNN; former Obama adviser Ben Rhodes now working for MSNBC…. the list goes on. All motives transparently political.

All of these pre-positioned forces are defensive in nature. All of their collective narrative constructs stem from a self-preservation instinct. The U.S. media has imploded onto itself and devolved into an Kafkaesque assembly of political narrative engineers churning out fake news 24/7.

What we are now witnessing is something far beyond Pravda and Baghdad Bob. What we now see is an even more severe distortion of media; an alternate reality created as if the Stasi and Tokyo Rose joined forces to take control of U.S. broadcasts.

If the head of the KGB was an analyst for Russia Today, people would laugh. The New York Times would continue pointing at the example as a reason never to believe the stories. Yet, identically, former CIA Director John Brennan is on TV daily and almost no-one gives it a second thought.

Damning damning damning information. 100% clear evidence the FBI was politicizing their spying on the Trump campaign. Partisan hackery at the FBI. What a damn shame. Shocking damn shame.

At a minimum, the letter provides us a pretext to interview,” Strzok wrote to Lisa Page on Sept. 26, 2016.

Within weeks, that “pretext” — often a synonym for an excuse — had been upsized to a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court warrant, giving the FBI the ability to use some of its most awesome powers to monitor Carter Page and his activities.

...

“At a minimum, that keeps the hurry the F up pressure on him,” Strzok emailed Lisa Page on Oct. 14, 2016, less than four weeks before Election Day.

Four days later the same team was emailing about rushing to get approval for another FISA warrant for another Russia-related investigation code-named “Dragon.”

“Still an expedite?” one of the emails beckoned, as the FBI tried to meet the requirements of a process known as a Woods review before a FISA warrant can be approved by the courts.

“Any idea what time he can have it woods-ed by?” Strzok asked Lisa Page. “I know it’s not going to matter because DOJ is going to take the time DOJ wants to take. I just don’t want this waiting on us at all.”

...

“That’s what Bill said,” Strzok wrote back, apparently referring to then-FBI chief of counterintelligence William Priestap. “I suggested we need to exchange our entire lists as we each have potential derogatory CI info the other doesn’t.” CI is short for confidential informants.

It’s an extraordinary exchange, if for no other reason than this: The very day after Trump wins the presidency, some top FBI officials are involved in the sort of gum-shoeing normally reserved for field agents, and their goal is to find derogatory information about someone who had worked for the president-elect.

Amazing to watch. The Deep State had to admit yesterday that they got the "materials" that started the illegal and corrupt anti-Trump spying operation from a Clinton campaign vendor that was conducting opposition research on Trump.

Through the oversight process, Americans learned that the infamous “dossier” that laid out a case of collusion was secretly bought and paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee. This dossier was used to secure wiretaps against Trump associates (other surveillance methods, including human informants, were also used).

The most significant development in this whole spying scandal since it was admitted to by the New York Times:

https://grabien.com/story.php?id=183267

CLAPPER: "If it weren't for President Obama, we might not have done the intelligence community assessment that we did that set off a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today, notably, special counsel Mueller's investigation. President Obama is responsible for that, and it was he who tasked us to do that.."

OK, in an unprecedented move, the Department of Justice has released 412 pages of top-secret documents related to surveillance conducted against former Trump advisor Carter Page.

The applications show that in fact there was no actual evidence of collusion with Russia. In fact, the infamous "dossier" is the main point of evidence used to obtain the warrants.

Shocking. Absolutely shocking the level of mendacity and incompetence with our intelligence agencies.

The release of a redacted FISA warrant application exposes the fact that the spying on Carter Page, a figure associated with the Trump campaign, relied on no sources other than Democrats and media allies.

The FISA application relies heavily on news stories. Beyond the Yahoo News article, it cites allegations made in articles by the Washington Post and Politico. No effort is made to verify any of these allegations in media outlets famously hostile to Republicans in general and to Trump specifically. Instead the FISA application by the government bizarrely repeats claims about government investigations made in the media as the basis for launching a government investigation.

If there was any doubt the "Trump Tower meeting" was a sting operation run by the FBI and DOJ - take note: Transcripts released by the Senate Judiciary Committee say that Glenn Simpson, the co-founder of Fusion GPS, had dinner with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya both the day before and the day after she met with Donald Trump, Jr. at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016.

Ask yourself this - what are the chances that the person that was coordinating the production of the "dossier" just happened to meet with Veselnitskaya before and after the Trump Tower meeting. Consider also that AG Lynch had to force the State Department to issue a visa to allow Veselnitskaya into the US as an immigration judge had denied her request for a visa 3 times.

I mean, an middle schooler hides their tracks better than this. But the media blindly pretends nothing is amiss.

The NY Times admits there was DOJ/Fusion GPS/Steele Russian collusion as they try to play down this monster scandal.

The attempt to flip Mr. Deripaska was part of a broader, clandestine American effort to gauge the possibility of gaining cooperation from roughly a half-dozen of Russia’s richest men, nearly all of whom, like Mr. Deripaska, depend on President Vladimir V. Putin to maintain their wealth, the officials said.

Two of the players in the effort were Bruce G. Ohr, the Justice Department official who has recently become a target of attacks by Mr. Trump, and Christopher Steele, the former British spy who compiled a dossier of purported links between the Trump campaign and Russia.

The systematic effort to win the cooperation of the oligarchs, which has not previously been revealed, does not appear to have scored any successes. And in Mr. Deripaska’s case, he told the American investigators that he disagreed with their theories about Russian organized crime and Kremlin collusion in the campaign, a person familiar with the exchanges said. The person added that Mr. Deripaska even notified the Kremlin about the American efforts to cultivate him.

In September 2016, the FBI used an informant in an attempt to ensnare Papadopoulos and establish collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia’s hacking of the DNC emails. Then in January 2017, after Papadopoulos confirmed Mifsud was the source of his claim that the Russians had “dirt” on Hillary, and had agreed to cooperate and contact Mifsud, and after the FBI “located” Mifsud in D.C., the FBI didn’t use Papadopoulos to ensnare the supposed Russian-agent whose purported foreknowledge of the hack justified the launch of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.

The Deep State desperation to oust Trump has reached new crisis levels. Obviously, they are coordinating the timing of the current NY Times OP Ed to coincide with the Woodward book.

This tells me that they are not entirely confident about the Dems retaking the House. If the GOP holds the House and Senate there likely would be no impeachment effort and the investigations into the Obama DOJ and the Deep State criminal conspiracy against Trump will continue. In fact, after the elections Sessions and Rosenstein will likely be ousted and replaced by folks eager to defend Trump and prosecute the DOJ and Deep State criminals.

So one can understand why the hysteria about Trump and impeachment continues to be pushed to new levels of derangement every day.

"I had literally just gone to find this phone to tell you I want to talk to you about media leak strategy with DOJ before you go," Strzok texted Page on April 10, 2017...

This is just freaking unbelievable. While Trump is POTUS, the FBI and the Department of Justice are coordinating leaks to the Washington Post in an attempt to keep the Russia Conspiracy in the news. This same criminal - Strzok - was then put on the Mueller team to help head up the "Russia Investigation."

The question that needs to be answered is: WHO AT THE DOJ (working for Trump) was Page coordinating this with?

This woman openly admits, on live-television, that she actively encouraged all her Democrat colleagues to violate their security oaths, by copying, and widely disseminating intelligence documents, then proceeded to 'leak' the contents of those documents in an effort to support an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory only seen through partisan optics, because she feared the information would disappear, and wouldn't be used to delegitimize an incoming president?

She feared the collection of such information, and the methods of collection, or identity of sources, might fall under unwanted scrutiny which would eliminate access by her, and her colleagues, to future intel from those sources.

“It’s a reflection of us still not knowing,” Page told Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) when questioned about texts she and Strzok exchanged in May 2017 as Robert Mueller was being named a special prosecutor to take over the Russia investigation.

With that statement, Page acknowledged a momentous fact: After nine months of using some of the most awesome surveillance powers afforded to U.S. intelligence, the FBI still had not made a case connecting Trump or his campaign to Russia’s election meddling.

Page opined further, acknowledging “it still existed in the scope of possibility that there would be literally nothing” to connect Trump and Russia, no matter what Mueller or the FBI did.

“As far as May of 2017, we still couldn’t answer the question,” she said at another point.

It might take a few seconds for the enormity of Page’s statements to sink in. After all, she isn’t just any FBI lawyer. She was a lead on the Russia case when it started in summer 2016, and she helped it transition to Mueller through summer 2017.

Congressional investigators have confirmed that a top FBI official met with Democratic Party lawyers to talk about allegations of Donald Trump-Russia collusion weeks before the 2016 election, and before the bureau secured a search warrant targeting Trump’s campaign.

Former FBI general counsel James Baker met during the 2016 season with at least one attorney from Perkins Coie, the Democratic National Committee’s private law firm.

That’s the firm used by the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s campaign to secretly pay research firm Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence operative, to compile a dossier of uncorroborated raw intelligence alleging Trump and Moscow were colluding to hijack the presidential election.

...

“This is a bombshell that unequivocally shows the real collusion was between the FBI and Donald Trump’s opposition — the DNC, Hillary and a Trump-hating British intel officer — to hijack the election, rather than some conspiracy between Putin and Trump,” a knowledgeable source told me.

Here is the investigatory evidence the FBI presented to the FISA court. Just cutting through all the crap and gobbledygook. In a nutshell, the FBI leaked their unfounded speculations (from the Steele Dossier) to the media and then when they applied for the FISA warrant they sourced the media stories as the evidence. Stories they (or the DNC/Fusion GPS) made up. Astounding.

BTW, what reason did the FBI have to believe Page was collaborating and conspiring with the Russian Government? Huh? Not only has their investigation found nothing - he's not been charged or accused of ANYTHING by Mueller. Could it be they just made it up? We can spy on US citizens because we "believe" they are committing a crime? But we don't need evidence? What the hell?

Well, I guess the witch hunt is over. Absolutely no one in the media is reporting the most significant thing Andy McCabe has said in the last week:

ANDERSON COOPER: Are there other things that haven’t been made public at this point that contributed to the opening of the investigation into the President?

ANDREW MCCABE: I’m not so sure there are things that haven’t been made public…

So there you have it. It was all based on the Steeler Dossier which was not an intelligence report but a political opposition research document.

So buckle up Trump haters. There's no easy road to getting rid of him. It's going to be an uphill battle. Van Jones had it right at the start - it's a NOTHING-BURGER.

It's going to be a daily brawl to control the daily spin now. Steven Bannon has it right. Buckle up. It's going to be a meat grinder and a civil war.

Final nails in the coffins

Nail 1 — The Steele Dossier: Cohen said, unequivocally, that he’s never visited Prague. That’s contrary to the now-discredited opposition research “dossier” the FBI presented to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to obtain secret wiretaps.

Nail 2 — BuzzFeed’s “bombshell”: Cohen said Trump never directed him to lie to investigators about the timing of a Trump Tower Moscow project during the 2016 campaign. That discredited the BuzzFeed “bombshell” and multiple anonymous sources that claimed Cohen had told special counsel Robert Mueller that Trump ordered Cohen to lie. Mueller also previously disputed the same report.

I see Judge Ellis let the Mueller team know what he really thought about their prosecutorial discretion and tactics. 47 months. That's basically a slap on the wrist - not unlike the 2 weeks that Papadopoulos got.

It would seem these judges are applying "judicial nullification" to the Mueller witch hunt.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/07/politics/paul-manafort-sentencing-virginia-case-russia-investigation/index.html

The coup de grâce?

Ellis said during Thursday's hearing that Manafort is not being sentenced for anything related to interference in the 2016 election.

"He is not before the court for anything having to do with colluding with the Russian government," the judge said.

More unethical behavior. Simply outrageous:

Newly released memos written by former FBI director James Comey indicate that an early 2017 briefing for then-President-elect Donald Trump about the contents of an infamous dossier was held so it could be leaked to media outlets eager to report on the dossier’s allegations.

There are two things in the memo that are worth highlighting as relate to that blockbuster CNN story from January 10, 2017.

First, Comey claims that briefing the president-elect was the brainchild of Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

Second, With Comey claiming that Clapper wanted him to brief POTUS, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence final report on Russia has something of interest. The report, which was downplayed and panned by CNN, included a finding of interest related to discussions of the dossier with the media:

Finding #44: Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, now a CNN national security analyst, provided inconsistent testimony to the Committee about his contacts with the media, including CNN.”

http://thefederalist.com/2018/04/20/comeys-memos-indicate-dossier-briefing-of-trump-was-a-setup/

If this doesn't prove the arguments that this was all a devious plot hatched by the DEEP STATE nothing does. The director of the FBI and the director of National Intelligence conspiring to plant false stories to the media in a blatant political effort to destabilize and bring down a duly elected President. And then lie to Congress about it.

Just nine days before the FBI applied for a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to surveil a top Trump campaign aide, bureau officials were battling with a senior Justice Department official who had "continued concerns" about the "possible bias" of a source pivotal to the application, according to internal text messages obtained by Fox News.

Yikes. They didn't disclose that to the FISA court did they?

Coming for Obama soon.

Can you guarantee to the American people, can you direct the Justice Department to say, 'Hillary Clinton will be treated -- as the evidence goes, she will not be in any way protected,'" Wallace asked.

"I can guarantee that," Obama responded. "And I can guarantee that, not because I give Attorney General Lynch a directive. That is institutionally how we have always operated. I do not talk to the Attorney General about pending investigations. I guarantee that there is no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department, or the FBI, not just in this case, but in any case.”

If there were a nefarious "Deep State," Trump's tax returns would have been leaked two years ago.

They are lying to you.

They lied to you about Obama's birthplace.
They lied to you about FBI agents wanted Comey to be fired.
They lied to you with fabricated Trump medical records.
They lied to you about the causes of the 2008 financial crises.
They lied to you about which President deregulated the airline and trucking industries.
They lied to you about Mexico paying for the wall.
They lied to you about Trump having no interest in Russia.
They lied to you about crime statistics.
They lied to you about the Trump Tower meeting with Russians.

Anyone wat to continue?

When is a special counsel going to be named?

The FBI, Justice and intelligence agencies can't investigate themselves. Corey Stewart would be a good pick. The staff needs to be Trump campaign contributors like Muellers was Hillary contributors or the system is rigged.

This is sort of a thread hijack. But no, it is not a given that the Deep State would leak Trump's tax returns. There are plenty of self-interested reasons bad actors in government might chose not to. Not the least of which is they may realize there is nothing of interest there.

The rest of your post is undocumented opinions that have little to do with this thread.

First the mainstream media laughed and called Trump nuts for saying he had been spied on..

Then the mainstream media acknowledged there was spying but it was to find evidnece of "Russian Collusion"....

Then the mainstream media changed it's story and said the spying was to "protect" Trump from the "Russian Collusion"....

Now the media admits there was no Russian Collusion, just an attempt to set Trump up....

Let's see how long it will take them to admit who instigated this phony investigation and how high it went. Strzok and Page said it came from the White House. Will be interesting to find out what this means.

Couple of interesting tidbits. A lot of these wacky low level Trump advisors/consultants have been on TV a lot (George Papadopoulos, Carter Page, Michael Caputo). Quite frankly their interviews have been extremely disjointed, rambling, unimpressive and hard to follow. Very poor communicators. Perhaps clever people but just poor advocates for themselves. Very clear why they were targeted by the Deep State.

But all three have had lengthy interviews with Byron York on his new Podcast. And York has patiently done yeoman's work in extracting real information from these stooges.

https://ricochet.com/podcast/byron-york-show/

Shows #9, 10 and 11.

About an hour each but well worth the time if you got nothing else to do.

Hasn't made news yet but Michael Caputo claims that the Deep State also sent an FBI informant trying to frame him as well. I have attached the story from the Mueller Report about this incident.

Michael Caputo makes an interesting claim that this "Russian" was a documented FBI informant for 17 years.

If true, these means up to 5 of the major Russia Hoax "Contacts" were actually Deep State plants which certainly discredits the idea that the Trump campaign was actually reaching out to Russia or Russians.

Instead, what mystery remains around Greenberg — who’d bounced around Russia and the U.S. and tried unsuccessfully at one point to open a restaurant on the Miami River — is whether he was actually working with the FBI, as Caputo suggested. Documents from California immigration hearings in 2015 show that Greenberg was at one point, at least, working with the federal agency despite racking up arrests for violent offenses.

Moffa’s congressional interview was private, and no transcript has been released. But National Review has obtained a copy. The interview transcript reveals that the FBI’s use of Confidential Human Sources [spies] and other counterintelligence assets was far more extensive than has previously been acknowledged.

Moffa was asked in the closed-door Capitol Hill interview, “How many CHSs did you have working on this investigation at the time?”

Moffa again conferred with his counsel off the record.

“Okay,” he replied, back on the record. “So I legitimately do not know the total number of CHSs. That’s an operational side decision, but I also don’t want to imply to you that I don’t — I’m not aware of any CHSs, right. So that’s what we were just talking about. But I legitimately can’t tell you the overall number that are engaged. I just don’t know it.”

This is an interesting angle.

MARIA BARTIROMO: This is so extraordinary you can't write this, so LinkedIn, they reach you on LinkedIn, they give you a job working for the center for law practices, then you say you are going to quit you want to work for Trump, they say no wait, meet Mifsud in Rome, they send you on a paid trip to Rome, you meet this guy Mifsud who we find out is also tied to intel agencies across the world, Mueller talked to him, talked about him in the report as you a Russian spy, but in fact he is very connected to Italy, then others reach out from other countries: Australia, Britain, U.S. agents, all reaching out to you in the Summer of 2016. And then somebody gives you money on one of your trips, explain that, this is now, fast forward to 2017 when someone dropped $10,000 in cash in your lap, what happened?

PAPADOPOULOS: This element you just raised is probably going to actually provide evidence that I was part of an entrapment operation by Mueller's team, not even the politicized FBI under Comey.

Was ANYTHING in the Russia Collusion Hoax story real? ANYTHING?

In a key finding of the Mueller report, Ukrainian businessman Konstantin Kilimnik, who worked for Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, is tied to Russian intelligence.

But hundreds of pages of government documents — which special counsel Robert Mueller possessed since 2018 — describe Kilimnik as a “sensitive” intelligence source for the U.S. State Department who informed on Ukrainian and Russian matters.

Curious. Does anyone know who the NYT source(s) were on this story? This is February of 2017 and these supposedly in-the-know IC officials told the NYT that they "had seen no evidence of such cooperation." This being the case then why did the counter-intelligence investigation begin and why did the Mueller investigation begin? After all, no investigation has shown any provable clear-cut cooperation or collusion between Trump or Trump officials. Makes one think this was all political.

So this story quietly emerged and while not making news it is a legit BOMBSHELL.

It clearly shows that Democrat Party operatives (Hoyer’s aide Silverberg) and the Obama White House (ASS Nuland and DOS official Winer) played key roles in the production of the Steeler Dossier.

Nothing more really needs to be said. This is the definition of a scandal. Coordinated from the highest political levels and then pretending that it was the FBI that started and handled the investigation. This was a corrupt political operation directed by Obama.

Short summary: Another fake document (besides Steele Dossier) that the FBI knowingly used to get warrants for surveillance of Trump campaign personnel.

https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/449206-fbi-warned-early-and-often-that-manafort-file-might-be-fake-used-it-anyway

There’s just one problem: The FBI’s public reliance on the ledger came months after the feds were warned repeatedly that the document couldn’t be trusted and likely was a fake...Ukraine’s top anticorruption prosecutor, Nazar Kholodnytsky, told me he warned the U.S. State Department’s law enforcement liaison and multiple FBI agents in late summer 2016 that Ukrainian authorities who recovered the ledger believed it likely was a fraud.

...the FBI and Mueller’s office did not cite the actual ledger — which would require agents to discuss their assessment of the evidence — and instead cited media reports about it. The feds assisted on one of those stories as sources. For example, agents mentioned the ledger in an affidavit supporting a July 2017 search warrant for Manafort’s house, citing it as one of the reasons the FBI resurrected the criminal case against Manafort.

There are two glaring problems with that assertion. [only one cited here]

First, the agent failed to disclose that both FBI officials and Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, who later became Mueller’s deputy, met with those AP reporters one day before the story was published and assisted their reporting.

An FBI record of the April 11, 2017, meeting declared that the AP reporters "were advised that they appeared to have a good understanding of Manafort’s business dealings" in Ukraine.

So, essentially, the FBI cited a leak that the government had facilitated and then used it to support the black ledger evidence, even though it had been clearly warned about the document.

Rot at the FBI.

Another good story here:

But lest anyone be tempted to think Steele’s 2016 dossier is about to be mysteriously revived as credible, consider this: Over months of work, FBI agents painstakingly researched every claim Steele made about Trump’s possible collusion with Russia, and assembled their findings into a spreadsheet-like document.

The over-under isn’t flattering to Steele.

Multiple sources familiar with the FBI spreadsheet tell me the vast majority of Steele’s claims were deemed to be wrong, or could not be corroborated even with the most awesome tools available to the U.S. intelligence community. One source estimated the spreadsheet found upward of 90 percent of the dossier’s claims to be either wrong, nonverifiable or open-source intelligence found with a Google search.

In other words, it was mostly useless.

“The spreadsheet was a sea of blanks, meaning most claims couldn’t be corroborated, and those things that were found in classified intelligence suggested Steele’s intelligence was partly or totally inaccurate on several claims,” one source told me.

The FBI declined comment when asked about the spreadsheet.

… an audiotape containing professor Joseph Mifsud’s deposition has been given to both U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigators and to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“I can report absolutely that the Durham investigators have now obtained an audiotape deposition of Joseph Mifsud, where he describes his work, why he targeted George Papadopoulos, who directed him to do that, what directions he was given, and why he set that entire process of introducing Papadopoulos to Russia in motion in March of 2016, which is really the flashpoint the starting point of this whole Russia collusion narrative,” Solomon told Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

“I can also confirm that the Senate Judiciary Committee has also obtained the same deposition,” he said.

If Mifsud was an FBI asset sent to entrap Papadopoulos, then there are no real Russian agents anywhere in this entire Trump-Russia collusion story.

Obviously the intelligence agencies intercepted Russian connections and traced them back to Trump enterprises and to the Trump campaign. Once mentioned in intelligence intercepts, perhaps for years before the Trump campaign -- there is probable cause for further investigation under the law, and maybe if Trump were not President of the United States, arrest and prosecution.

I know you don't really believe this but I guess you have to say shit because politics. Facts are the evidence is the exact opposite. Everything indicates that the investigation into Trump was not a result of anything initiated at the lower levels of the FBI or CIA - field operations, surveillance, etc. All indications are that this whole operation was initiated and operated from the upper echelons - the management of the Deep State.

In any case, the Mueller Report did not mention anything at all about the ridiculous conspiracy theory you postulate. Nothing. Perhaps instead of stretching credulity with some inane spy movie plots it is more realistic to succumb to the reality that this was corrupt politicians spying on Trump. And others they wished to control.
