Can you rent a car at dulles airport if you are not catching any flights?

I just wanted to rent an economy car for the weekend, checking the usual shopping sites (kayak, priceline, etc) the cheapest cars seem to be at dulles airport.
Just making sure I don't have to be actually traveling to get that price at the airport counter!
I don't own a car and use metro to commute usually, I will have company coming in from out of town and want to be able to drive them around to see things (NOT this weekend, in March!) and i notice they all have unlimited mileage so this is nice, I can take them to see some things in MD as well.

You're dumb. Airport rentals are the highest prices. Just go to your local Enterprise lot.
Then tell them it's an insurance replacement and get an even better price.

Myself like most Fairfax/Loudoun county people do the same exact thing when they need to rent a car. Dulles is always the cheapest in the area.

A friend of mine who was rather poor drove around an old beat up junker that he had paid off years ago. When he would get some hot date he would look for weekend special rentals at Dulles.
He once rented a brand new loaded convertible Mustang for something like $35 for the weekend. Unlimited mileage too.
If you watch you can get some crazy deals on some cools cars for cheap.

Strathmore is nice, and you can drive past the Mormon Tabernacle (sp)--or whatever they call it.
There is frequently a lot of traffic on the Cabin John Bridge, so check Google Maps for current traffic conditions. DO NOT under any circumstances go into P.G. County. You will be shot, robbed, and raped -- and possibly die.
Check with your credit card issuers, insurance company, and organizations you belong to for discounts on rental cars.

That's all terrible advice. Airport prices are often better because there is more competition....but there is an extra airport tax. If you find an airport location that is actually right outside the airport, you avoid it and get the best price but even then so, rates in and around dca are often the best in the area (I know you asked about Dulles). It's more about the timing...weekend and weekly airport rates are good, unless there is a big event people may be flying to. I wouldn't think they are good right now bc of the innaguration.

Yeah, I don't think a lot of the neighborhood places (especially Enterprise) always have unlimited miles. I once rented for 2 weeks at $58/week (not all that long ago) and got an upgrade to a brand new Chrysler that I took to California and back...7007 miles when I returned it (got it with 3 miles on it) for under $120.

Today, there are a huge number of rental companies in the world. Naturally, they cannot all be presented at the airports where your flight arrives. I recently decided to use the MSP AIRPORT BLACK CAR SERVICE and I was very pleased. The latest model vehicles are equipped with air conditioning, electronic door and window locks and are serviced by experienced mechanics.

Yes, of course you can rent a car at the airport, even if you don't make the plane. I've missed my flight a couple of times, rented a car and came home. I use this company https://lbtravel.co.uk/ their offices are in the UK and you can go to them if you are in the area
