Virginia went blue for Obama, then the way people talk on here is kinda shocking. This is not the Virginia that I grew up in certainly. We used to be Republican and Conservative and had family values.

Rednecks are all over the United States. There are more rednecks in Upstate NY than I have ever seen in the South. Well, almost. The term is overused and misused.

I dont mind Virginia getting a tad more liberal- but a little is enough! We have gone to Karl Marxism as of late, and its very scary. I believe moderation is key.

I am a Conservative Republican, but we need liberals for balance. But this is beyond liberalism, its socialism , pure and simple.

Judging from the idiot that the Democrats are running for governor it doesn't appear that Va will be all that blue for all that long.

I'd say Virginia is probably on its way to liberatarianism if i had to guess. A move from conservative social values to a more liberal social system, while staying fiscally conservative. Or atleast i hope so.

I became a conservative by being around liberals and I became a libertarian by being around conservatives. You realize that there’s something distinctly in common between the two groups, the left and the right; the worst part of each of them is the moralizing. On the left, you have people who want to dictate your behavior under the guise of tolerance. Unless you disagree with them. Then the tolerance goes out the window. Which kind of negates the whole idea of tolerance. That’s the politically correct moralizing. Then when you become a conservative, the other kind of moralizing comes from religion. But if you remove both of those from the equation, what you’re left with is libertarianism.
