“ACORN officials said they had alerted authorities about the alleged illegal activity among some canvassers in Miami-Dade after finding ``numerous discrepancies'' on voter cards collected from the Homestead area.

“The arrests are ``further evidence we've been policing our own folks and report people attempting to commit voter registration fraud,'' said ACORN spokesman Brian Kettenring. ``This was really some individuals who were trying to defraud their employer.''

“Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernández Rundle praised ACORN.”

The individuals were charged with "voter registration fraud" which is completely different that "voter fraud". One is filling out an application using the name Lester Noodlemandorfer" and the other is actually going to the polls, claiming to to be Lester and then voting. A big difference in the crime and a bigger difference in the severity.

As far as I know, no one has made any credible accusation that anyone had any intention of voting using those registration cards.

Alas, for shock value, Drudge linked to the story using ACORN Voter Fraud and NOT ACORN Voter Registration Fraud which the headline of the story clearly alludes to.
