H1N1 Coming This Fall? OMFG!

What's up with all this flu talk? Is it just media sensationalism or is it going to be a real epidemic?

All I know is I'll be finding out the hard way. There is no way in hell I'm going to get injected with this "vaccine" that they are rushing to develop just because the news is telling me I may get sick and die.

They can't seem to make up their mind about whether the swine flu is SUPER dangerous or not. First it is, then it isn't, now it is and thousands are going to die this fall... Another reason you can't trust the media.

Vitamin C, echinacea, Zinc, and the yogi tea "immunity booster". And at the first sign of symptoms, massive amounts of c zinc and echinacea.

And lots of water. During flu season, I like to think of my body as an irrigation system. If I keep the water flowing, no bad stuff can build up in the pipes.

Very good! I agree with this prevention method. Especially the water.

the best way to survive an outbreak is to wait and see if you get infected. if that happens, be sure to eat sleep and bathe, just like you would for any other form of the flu.

Yes, you're right. But since I don't fuck strange pussy, I'm not all that worried about it.

As far as the flu, I breathe strange air all the time. I have a chance of catching that shit. Gonorrhea, very little chance.

When my mother was in the hospital with pneumonia and all sorts of subsequent infections, one of the things they did was increase fluids, both IV and by feeding tube, and monitored the bag on her foley catheter. When the output slowed, they increased antibiotics, when the intake matched the output, they lowered the antibiotics.

Flushing works.

Not only that, the best thing to do is to NOT PANIC until it reaches a point where people are dying all around you.

Eat right, wash your hands anytime you come home or get back to the office, and before eating, take some vitamins and other supplements just to be safe, and don't worry.

If they start pulling dead bodies out of half the houses in your neighborhood, that's the time to panic.

I already told you. PANIC!

There are two choices when faced with uncertain events. Think and act logically, or PANIC.

Ok, so let's say my neighbors all start dying. Do I move? Do I go door to door asking what activities they participated in so I can avoid said activities? Do I stay cooped up in my house hoping it will blow over? Do I just eat a bullet? Do I start binging on dietary supplements?

That all depends on what you do when you panic.

Panic is a berserker moment. You are no longer thinking rationally.

Well, I would probably get out of dodge.

If shit really got bad, I think I'd drive to a part of the country that was sparsely populated, and I would hole myself up in some motel with all the food I needed to last a month or two.

I'd have a supply of hand sanitizers, and all sorts of multivitamins and extra C and zinc and echinacea and whatever other supplements that support immunity or help fight infections.

But if it was just a matter of getting sick, myself, and my own measures didn't work, I think I would see a doctor.

In VA alone, estimates run from 2300 to 9600 deaths from H1N1. Speaking to a health actuary the other day - he said it is going to be very very bad with 1/3 of the world population getting this flu.

He said the usual - wash your hands etc. He also said wear a mask if YOU have any symptoms to protect those around you. This would require an altruistic trait I am not sure the average FXU reader has.

But just wait. Panic, no... But extreme concern - definitely!

Even that doesn't sound so bad. 2,300 to 9,600 in Virginia, considering 36,000 die nationally each year from the common flu. Sure, the rate is higher, but it's still not a catastrophe of epic proportions.

Yeah, wearing a mask to prevent catching the flu is silly. The whole purpose of a mask is to prevent saliva and mucus of infected people to spread to non-infected people. In hospitals, isolation rooms have two options, positive pressure for those at risk of contracting an infection, blowing the air out of the room to keep germs from entering, and negative pressure for those at risk of spreading infection, blowing the air into the room to prevent the germs from leaving the room.

And yes, most people who get sick are not going to wear a mask. Not just FXU readers, but the general public is not going to bother with that. Vanity, apathy, ignorance. There are too many reasons that most people will just not wear one.
