Crazed Obama supporter bites off elderly man's finger

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – California authorities say a clash between opponents and supporters of health care reform ended with one man biting off another man's finger.

Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Frank O'Hanlon says about 100 people demonstrating in favor of health care reforms rallied Wednesday night on a street corner. One protester walked across the street to confront about 25 counter-demonstrators.

O'Hanlon says the man got into an argument and fist fight, during which he bit off the left pinky of a 65-year-old man who opposed health care reform.

A hospital spokeswoman says the man lost half the finger, but doctors reattached it and he was sent home the same night.

She says he had Medicare.

O'Hanlon says the attacker fled but authorities have a good description.

Maybe Vince was in California? I new the demokrats were crazy, but I didn't know they were primitive cannibals.

I expect there will be new Tooth Control bills introduced in Kongress now, there have now been more injuries with teeth as weapons than any open-carrying, legal gun owners, currently at zero.

Yeah - um hello?

So as I understand it, so far the only media reported violence has been a bunch of SEUI guys that busted the arm of a black protester, and another supporter of Obama biting the finger off a protester. Otherwise it was just some people that went to Townhalls and shouted at their representatives (who deserved it) for trying to ram more expensive changes down their throats.

Hmm, who is inciting violence again? Where is the clamor for all the folks in Congress pointing out that the protesters are wearing swastikas? Using the unassailable logic presented here in the past, these folks are responsible for this violence, and should lose their jobs - be run out of town on the next train, yada yada yada.

Unfortunately most on Social Security are forced into Medicare. If social security were abaolished then we'd have enough money for retirement and to buy insurance. Instead, we're forced into a ponzi scheme.

The true punchline is that you are too stupid to understand how the system works.

Every American aged 65 or older is eligible for Medicare. Those who receive Social Security benefits are automatically enrolled in Medicare. There is no way to opt out. Either you enroll in Medicare Part A, or you forfeit your Social Security benefits.

Get it, there is no FUCKING choice, nimrod.

Ummm, so you can either enroll or not enroll?

Yup, no choice there. Good point.

The point is the old people are 1) on a government-run program and 2) are screaming that they don't want their benefits or programs changed. So whether or not they are forced is irrelevant... they clearly are happy not changing anything about their GOVERNMENT-RUN health care membership. They should stfu and allow the country to try opening that up for anyone who wants to join it.

LOL, How does it feel to be the poster child for people who are too stupid to realize they are stupid?

If you choose not to enroll you forfeit Social Security. For many retirees, that is simply not an option or feasible. Please tell me you are not this dense.

You're argument that there is no choice is just dumb. It's like saying you don't have the choice to send your kid to private school because you've already paid taxes for public schools.

Gotta love the way he says there is no choice and then presumes to call someone dumb by immediately bolstering his argument with the phrase "if you choose".

Your counter argument (if one can even consider your rambling as such) is pathetic, stupid and just plain wrong. In fact, your argument is inverted. People don't always have a choice to send their kids to private school. Ever hear of school CHOICE?

If you need to supplement your retirement income with social security benefits, can you do so without enrolling in Medicare? The answer is no. Show me the choice if you are recieving social security.

You are changing the parameters of the question. Please stick to the question originally posed if you want worthwhile discussion. The question was do people 65+ have a choice whether or not to enroll in Medicare and the answer is a clear "yes." Please provide evidence that citizens 65+ are FORCED by their government to accept social security and Medicare or shut up and let us move on to argue with more reasonable people.

You are missing the point. You are not forced to accept either, but if you want/need one, you are forced to accept the other.

I guess now this guy wants to collect social security but then go out and buy his own private health insurance. I wonder how much that would cost when you're in your late 60's?

Let's get to the point. If the guy had private insurance, there's a good chance the finger would not have been re-attached. Medicare took care of it and it cost him little if anything.

From SS website.

HI 00801.002 Waiver of HI Entitlement by Monthly Beneficiary
A. INTRODUCTION
Some individuals entitled to monthly benefits have asked to waive their HI entitlement because of religious or philosophical reasons or because they prefer other health insurance.

B. POLICY
Individuals entitled to monthly benefits which confer eligibility for HI may not waive HI entitlement. The only way to avoid HI entitlement is through withdrawal of the monthly benefit application. Withdrawal requires repayment of all RSDI and HI benefit payments made.

If he did want private insurance, yes, it would be expensive. I suppose you do not understand the policy reasons behind medicare. You are probably unwilling to even research it as it may actually make you smarter. Keep popping back the talking points and sound bites.

We call these people the "under-informed". They have big mouths but small brains. I think we should take away their Medicare and give them some baloney about "personal responsibility" and "the government would just make you die" and then see how they like it.

Rice, confirmed reports that he threw the first punch in the confrontation that claimed part of his left pinky.

“When he got in my personal space, I popped him in the nose,” Rice said. “I felt like I had no choice other than to defend myself.”

Rice's trip to the emergency room was covered by Medicare, but unfortunately doctors were not able to reattach it. Doctor's informed him -- the finger, severed near the second knuckle, would not survive because it had been cut by a human bite.

So the asshole who got his finger bitten off "threw the first punch" in order to "defend himself." What? Was it a fucking pre-emptive strike? How do you defend yourself by throwing the first punch? And even at that, this Rice moron admitted that the guy bit into his finger in response to the fist being in his mouth.

I suppose if the guy he punched shot him instead you would defend that also. You never had someone get in your face, yelling at you, and you decided to take the first swing? I am pretty sure he didn't say "I punched him and my fist got stuck, so he bit my finger off".

I didn't say he said his fist got stuck. This is what Rice said. And, no, his description of the event does not rise to the level of self defense...

Fox News has talked to 65 year old William Rice, who describes in his words how the violence unfolded.

"He came at me, calling me an idiot, and whenever he came close within my range, I threw a punch. I threw a second punch and my fist ended up in his mouth. He bit my pinky finger off. I can't look into the man's heart or into his mind. My finger was in his mouth and when it came out I didn't have a finger, that's all I know," said Rice.

The only person involved in self defense was the guy who bit this asshole's finger off.

And, no, I have never thrown a punch at someone who was in my face yelling at me. That would be stupid.
