Walmart produces more solar power than 38 states combined at 89 megawatts enough to power close to 23000 homes. Prices have dropped 60 percent in 5 years and continue to drop. The energy revolution is in full swing and upon us.

The US was once the leader in solar technology

Here's your solar 'revolution'...

In 2015, the United States generated about 4 trillion kilowatthours of electricity. About 67% of the electricity generated was from fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, and petroleum).

Major energy sources and percent share of total U.S. electricity generation in 2015:

Coal = 33%
Natural gas = 33%
Nuclear = 20%
Hydropower = 6%
Other renewables = 7%
Biomass = 1.6%
Geothermal = 0.4%
Solar = 0.6%
Wind = 4.7%
Petroleum = 1%
Other gases = <1%

It would be nice if we could mine the rare earth elements we need to make solar panels instead of buying our solar panels from China. Of course, someone is going to tell us that installing solar panels is "job creation". No reason to have anything other than a service industry.

A long journey starts with a single step.

That step was started 30 years ago and hasn't moved very far.

Republicans have fought long and hard to stall solar research
Their big oil masters don't want alternates

Guy has about a hundred on his roof next door, looks like shit, bats live there, mold and mildew rot the roof underneath, they crack and water gets in and fogs up the windows.

Don't be a fucking imbecile. The solar companies are sister companies of the oil companies.

Wrong. Funding for solar research has increased under every administration/Congress since. Solar's problem isn't 'big oil.' We don't use more than a tiny trivial amount of oil to generate electricity and that's mostly waste fractions. It's primary problem is cheap nat gas. Which is just little cheaper than cheap coal. Both of which are far more cost effective and able to serve at base load plant-scale levels much better than solar.

Problem is there's no DEMAND for solar. END OF ARGUMENT.

Obama has sold 100 million acres of the gulf of mexico for oil drilling. You are a chump. Look how he has devestated states like Pennsylvania by allowing fracking. Wait, he's not a Republican. Yes, you're an idiot and you hate America. Now go watch CNN to tell you what to think.
