being that there are a ton of Virginia micro breweries, i wouldn't touch one unless i visited the factory and verified they were actually producting it (why would a WI firm selling beer need CA help to sell it in walmart? rediculous - not just rediculous , probably a lie )

Rockdale is popular in college towns, it tastes like bush light but you can only get it at walmart. You got to check the expiration date too because walmart is bad about rotating stock.

It's cheap crappy beer like Keystone or Natural Light. It's pretty weak and watery. Tastes like the water leftover after you've cooked corn in it. Not bad if it's ice cold, but not good either. I can't imagine making a trip to Walmart just to buy this beer.

Yeah! A buddy of mine goes to JMU and rockdale is consumed like wild down there. I brought 2 cases home with me and my boys love it. Walmart in Manasscrack has it but its like $11.50 a case, thats a dollar more than harrisonburg. Still ,, less that 12 bucks after tax for a case,, thats like 50 cents a beer! I will drink the hell out of that shit!!!!!

when i was college age, i went to massanutten during winter break to go "skiing". this was probably 1994 or 1995, at the grocery store in the area you could buy 12 packs of PBR for $2.50. this was before it became some hipster douche drink.

I would so try this, but for some reason as I have gotten older I simply cannot stomach past about 6 beers. Like, room in my stomach for them.
I get to #6 in about 2 hours, and am pissing like a racehorse but cannot put down another beer unless I wait another hour. So my buzz is getting good but it fades because I can''t put down another beer in enough time. Food, I can eat though. Odd. Maybe because I lost a lot of weight since college too.
It's ok, I just drink whiskey now. Solves that volume problem. Still get drunk. Life is good.

I can drink 10 rockdales, but i like drink Margarita cocktail. How strong i mixed cocktail or drink? Depending on the recipe cocktail, i can have two "standard" alcohol drinks in one mixed drink or cocktail. Taste is very watery, very light. Light hops, light adjuncts, medium metallic. old Milwalkee is just a label on a can, was made by a large german brewer (likely who emmigrated to usa for the purpose in the 1800s - ie, Kraft)

Just tried it for the first time ever. I've tried a large number of beers over the past four decades. This one really isn't all bad. I'd say it is a bit watery but it is 108F outside and isn't getting any cooler. You can drink these during the heat of the day and not slow down.
There isn't any nasty aftertaste so while I wouldn't say it is the best it is certainly worth every penny if you are finding it on a good deal.
By the way, a lot of really good beers are made in Wisconsin. They have some excellent breweries that don't ship much further than their region. This is a good one.
One last point, I tried it at one of the local discount stores. I won't make you sick with how little I paid, but I am going back to pick up a large number of cases and it was quite a lot less than the price at Walmart.
