Is the administration of this site deleting threads?

Just saw a thread come and go. It was trolling of a public safety employee.

Is Fairfax underground changing?

If you are registered , there is a report abuse link. I (and I guess others) used it because the thread was stupid. Cary does what he wants, but Jesus, a person just died. Let's take a time out for awhile.

If you don't want threads deleted, set up your own damn forum and post whatever you wish. As the old saying goes, freedom of the press belongs to the person who owns the press.

Good! It's about time. The thread in question (I believe it's the one) wasn't just 'stupid', it was defamatory - more slut shaming. I figured that the original poster felt emboldened by Cary's statement that he would not release poster IPs unless ordered to by a court pursuant to a criminal investigation (correct me if I'm wrong). Let's not take a time out for 'awhile'. Let's take a time out forever from these sorts of threads. It degrades the forum. We don't need to swim with the sewer rats.

Did you post something Off-Topic? If so it was likely moved to the Off-Topic forum, as this thread will soon be. The Fairfax General forum is only for conversations especially relevant to Northern Virginia residents.

Did you post absolute garbage? If so then yes, it was probably deleted. I remove huge swaths of garbage every day, but never anything remotely legitimate unless it violates one of Fairfax Undergrounds rules which are:
- No Spam
- No Complete Garbage
- No Impersonation
- No Personal Attacks

Cary,

What do you consider a "personal attack"? This forum is full of personal attacks that aren't being removed.

Thanks!

Please register an account and report them. If you're logged in as a registered user you'll gain a "Report Abuse" button beneath each and every post. Fairfax Underground is only moderated based on abuse reports, which generally works well; but things certainly slip through the cracks, especially some egregious personal attacks that everyone assumes have already been reported when in fact they have not.

Sometimes censorship can be a good thing.
