He's trying desperately to keep the establishment on his side while running as an anti establishment candidate.

He's also trying to suggest that he is riding on the will of the people while trying to usurp the will of the voters.

Cruz is VERY desperate. He came in 3rd place in every state yesterday except pennsylvania, where he was ahead of Kasich by only 2%.
Out of 117 Delegates yesterday up for grabs, he walked away with only 3.
