Not the content, which was pretty tame, but the delivery. For someone who hates teleprompters, Trump sure was hugging that thing. It's bad enough he had to read his positions (written by someone else) off a teleprompter, but the delivery was totally wooden. Moreover, there was virtually no hint of Trump's personality in that speech. Trump's handlers are really doing him a disservice.

Trump needs to do the hard work of actually figuring out what he stands for and why. And he needs to be able to extemporaneously give a speech that's coherent, consistent, and engaging. If he can't, Hillary will kill him.

I was listening to CNN on XM and I didn't even realize it was Trump until it was over. Sounded like an alien. I think he should really consider not using a teleprompter.

I don't want a President who needs to read a teleprompter to figure out what he stands for. Trump didn't write that speech, although he apparently provided some edits - hence the inconsistency. We need a President who can think on his feet and effectively communicate with world leaders - and Trump can't do that.

Trump isn't going to have a teleprompter during his debates with Hillary. Like her or not, Hillary knows what she's talking about and can effectively articulate her positions. Trump is going to have to really up his game to compete.

People voted for Obama because he was intelligent, informed, educated, articulate, and had the temperament to be the President. Plus the thought of Sarah Palin anywhere near the White House was horrifying. The fact that Obama is black was secondary, although a definite factor in some communities.

Peoples viewpoints have changed significantly even in the short amount of time that Obama has been in office. Diversity (or whatever you want to call it) is the norm now, not the exception. Unfortunately, that has created a massive backlash from people who can't accept that - like you. Hence the rise of people like Trump and Cruz.

If Hillary had been nominated in the 70s, 80s, or 90s - that would have been a very big deal. But it's not a big deal now. The huge cultural and philosophical differences in the country are far more important now. I suspect more people will vote against Hillary because she's a woman than will vote for her because she's a woman.
