The screen name is not a reference to the Alhambra. Obviously the OP is referring to the Islamic factor behind this, not the actual aesthetics of the Alhambra.

Yes. We must destroy anything with an Arab or Muslim sounding name, regardless of where it is located....

I was going to point that out, but I'll let TheMeeper and WashingTone think they are open-minded cultured individuals for liking Islam.

Frankly, I wouldn't mind seeing The Luxor razed. I hate that casino. The only cool thing about it is the big spotlight at night.

Pyramids now reside in Arab and Muslim countries. If you want to get picky, the terms New York, Pentagon, September and the number 11 are not American, either.

As for Islam, it is not a matter of "liking" Islam. It is a matter of being tolerant of other peoples' beliefs and recognizing that the actions of a fringe group aren't the same as the actions or beliefs of 1 billion people.

I'll have to respond to you later. Right now I have to pray to the east and then I'm taking the wives to Tyson's Corner.

Aren't they beautiful?

Is it possible to think of anything more intelligent or cultured than bombing the Alhambra?

I think it is a shame that Vince gets away from his typical rant to post something nice and the thread still devolves into a shit fest.

What else did you see in Spain? My grandparents were from Aragon and I really feel I owe myself a trip there sometime. Alhambra would definitely be on my list of places to visit. I've heard some great stuff about Barcelona, too.

What is it with middle aged women and that song. It's like The Bridges of Madison County or something.

No I didnt...from the Google Earth search I did just a few seconds ago it certainly does look beautiful. SOme of the pictures there show a lot of flowing water...something I did not see much of in Spain. Most of my time was spent in the immediate area of Grenada.

What a stupid reply, you make no sense. Comparing a building (ie, the Pyramid) to a Terrorist attack, wow, what a winner you are.

Isn't Google Earth the greatest? It's really cool to be able to "visit" places, especially with the road view!

Ugh. I have never understood the fascination with that song. It's absolute TORTURE when drunk jackasses decide to sing it at karaoke.
