Remember Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and the Brian Setzer Orchestra? Remember the Gap ad and Heather Graham in "Swingers?" Remember when everyone was hyping the return of Swing? Remember when you saw that Swing CD at Best Buy, and bought Eminem instead?

Don't forget about Cherry Poppin' Daddies. I heard that Zoot Suit Riot song on Sirius the other day and immediately remembered that swing craze. I think it lasted about 3 months. Same for the Latin Invasion craze with Ricky Martin and all that other crap.

Like Limp Bizkit?
Slipknot has one, but you can barely tell in most songs. He gets overblown by the drummer and 2 other percussionists pounding away on kettle drums.

The "America!" cafe in Tysons used to host swing dancing on some weeknights in the mid-to-late '90s. Seemed pretty popular among the middle-school crowd.

Basically any of those nu-metal bands that were attempting to fuse metal/rock with hip-hop. Music that reminds you of the soundtrack to some "extreme sports" video game. Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock were main offenders.
The only band I'll give credit to here is Rage Against The Machine. They were great.

I'm trying to remember the band who opened for The Reverend Horton Heat at the 9:30 Club about 9 years ago... Nashville Pussy was one of the bands. Like them, too.
Now I'm with you on the who rap/ rock fusion. Limp Bizkit opened for Faith No More years ago, and I thought they were some kind of crappy local band who lucked out by getting to play with FNM. Fred Durst came out on stage with his finger in the air saying, "FUCK YOU!" over and over, and talking about how he was going to take a shit on stage. I was SO not impressed. I can't believe that idiot is rich now.
