The Department of Energy gave Ford, Nissan, and Tesla Motors each a share of $8 Billion Dollars to configure some of their factories to be capable of producing electric cars. Tesla said production will start in 2011.

Won't your electric bill surpass what you pay at the pump? These cars will be charged from a unit at your house.

While its better for air pollution, what will happen to all those worn out batteries that are going to be thrown away? Those chemicals are extremely toxic.

What about car accidents? Those huge batteries will be leaking and spraying all over the place...will a HAZMAT team have to be called out everytime there is a crash?

Especially if you have Dominion Power. They'll ass rape you any chance they get.

You can recycle a lot of battery components - it's getting people to dispose of them properly that's the problem.

I'm not a battery expert, but I don't think lithion ion batteries have shit like sulfuric acid and lead in them like your typical car or generator batteries.

Not to mention the risk of electrocution. Fun.

I want a water powered hydrogen car. I hate replacing batteries. They always run out when you need it most.
