The War Against Terror to end in 6-12 months?

With Iraq and Afghanistan in checkmate, and Iran about to be overthrown into a western-friendly county, it might be possible for Obama to end TWAT in his fist year of his first term. If he can work in a two state solution in his fist term (and this goal is within reach now) for Israel/Palestine, Obama might end up being the most successful wartime president of all time, pacifying a volatile region of the world with minimum casualties. If this happens, watch Obama stop blaming Bush for everything and try to soak the glory up and propel him to a landslide second term. Peace is near, my friends. YES WE CAN! Keep your eyes open...this is terribly exciting

FYI - Obama already ended GWAT, its the Overseas Contingency Operation now, he bows to Saudi heads of state, and closed Guantanimo relasing the prisoners to Wisconsin and Guam.

He might "successfully" end them during his term with praise from many nations, but ending them without victory will encourage those who hate America for generations to come and convince them they can achive the ultimate victory they seek (retaking all lands that were ever, ever under muslin control, and sharia law). Remember that the Afghanis think since they beat the Russians they can easily beat the "soft " Americans who don't have the stomach to do what it takes to win.
Thinking long-term, do we really want to roll over and call it quits?

were not really rolling over and calling it quits. But as of today we are in a position of power. Iran is imploding for the better-ness of america, which will help shape the rest of the region. Obama is doing A okay in my books.

Let me cut the suspense and tell you how this is going to play out:
1) Iran's 'revolution' will quickly be quashed in the next week or so. Everyone will go home and sulk. Without any civilian weapons and the military's apparent reluctance for a coup, there's not much hope of anything changing after the blood is washed from the streets.
2) As we get closer to pulling out of Iraq, things are going to go downhill, very quickly. The violence will get ramped up. You're already starting to see this. The price of oil will begin responding to this instability by skyrocketing. The US will be unable to leave Iraq in its current state. Obama will back down from his promised troop draw down.

It will be a perpetual game of whack-a-mole. It is indeed, a horrendous predicament for a president to find himself in.
