Phoenix is always 10 degrees hotter than the rest of Arizona. Awesome city though.

Shit hole full of cheap retired people and zeros.

When summer comes and its 112 degrees, it sucks - locals say dry heat ain't so bad - it is still 112 outside.

Phoenix puts NoVa to shame. Better in every way possible.

I lived there in the 1980's.

This link to a local news channel pretty sums up my experience growing up there as a kid: https://youtu.be/F8P0dFVZI2s

Note: Evan Mecham hates black people so much, that he removed MLK Jr as an official Arizona state holiday. He also like to use the word "pickaninny" a lot.

Phoenix gets over 100 almost everyday during the summer, and it stays hot at night. It's not like that in LA or SD weather-wise. It's almost never above 100 in coastal SoCal cities.

Phoenix has L.A. style traffic, but none of the ocean breezes, it's all in a basin. Santa Ana winds would be welcomed there.

Scottsdale and Paradise Valley are really nice in the Fall and Spring and if you have a heated pool in the Winter. Other parts of town are barrio. Summers suck there unless you really like to sweat it out.

Phoenix is sprawled out over a huge area, it's like a gigantic suburb with a downtown area no bigger than Alexandria's downtown. Traffic geots bad but nowhere even close to here. It's also hot as fuck, expect 90+ degree weather from early April to the end of October. 100 degrees from late May to Sept.

It's nice, but it's largely strip malls, big roads, more strip malls, housing developments, suburbia. Imagine Centreville if it were the size of NoVA and DV and surrounded by desert and mountains.

Got off a plane there once at about 8 at night, and the heat coming off the ground felt like a breeze blowing my hair back. I'm reliably informed that most people keep oven mitts in their car because the steering wheels get so hot. Kept the air conditioning in my rental on full blast and it was like a small cone of coolness right in front of the vent that you could stick your hands into. Interesting visit but I don't see living there unless you're Hellboy.
