I'm not sure if I like it here at Virginia Tech...

I'm a freshman at Tech this year. Honestly, I'm not sure if I like it at all. Parties are terrible (the only way to get into parties is to have 5 bucks and a 3:1 girl to guy ratio - what?), the girls here have unbelievable standards and are bitches, the cold is starting to really suck, and it's just overall depressing here. Every weekend is the same, we just smoke weed or drink in the dorms. I feel like I'm not even getting a good education, I worked harder in highschool and I'm taking 17 credits as a freshman engineer with some sophomore classes.

Maybe it's just me and I'd be equally depressed anywhere else. But I feel like I made a mistake turning down Wake Forest and GWU for this school, plus those schools were actually cheaper than tech with how much money they gave me. Will it get better? I don't know what to do.

Go to Old Dominion if you want a warmer VA school. The parties are incredible, the babes are all from VA Beach and smoking hot. On the weekends you can drive 15 minutes VA Beach or 45 minutes to the Outer Banks and party.

Just focus on your grades so you can get in to a good graduate program. You have all of your 20s to chase tail. I checked out Tech but it had that cult-like vibe like Ped-State. No thanks. You can always transfer. I recommend a university near a large population center (such as Mason) because then you will be near to people who are working and will also have them in your graduate classes. Don't get distracted by partying.

You just sound like a whiny loser. GMU sounds like a perfect fit for you.

I told you you would have been better off at Wake Forest. Now stop wasting time worrying about girls and parties and get those grades back up, Mister!

You're a freshman. Everyone else is already in a clique and it's your job to find where you fit in.

Virginia Tech is for wannabes. The only thing good about VT is you can't see it from here. I enjoy VT decals on SUV's, it warns you of the losers inside.
Who the fuck would name a football team for castrated turkeys?
