Is Jessa Duggar's baby on the way? TLC's cameras will be rolling when Jessa and Ben Seewald's baby comes into the world, with the network planning to share footage of the birth in a special that airs later this year. Viewers can expect to see Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar make an appearance on the special, along with other family members who are expected to be present for Baby Seewald's arrival.
Jessa is due on November 1, and there are hints on social media that baby may be arriving sooner, with several family members posting on Instagram that they are headed to see Jessa and Ben. On Saturday, Jessa was to appear at the Southern Women's Show in Jacksonville, Florida, but just days before her scheduled appearance, the event noted that she would be "unable to attend" due to "unforeseen circumstances."
Jessa revealed early in her pregnancy that she plans to give birth at home in Springdale, the very home that Josh and Anna Duggar welcomed three of their four children. TLC will be filming at least two specials that will star Jill, Jessa and their husbands just three months after the network canceled 19 Kids and Counting due to Josh Duggar's sexual abuse scandal.
After the long-running show was canceled, Jim Bob told People that he was "heartbroken" that they pulled the show and made it clear that he and Michelle wanted to get back on TV to "spread their message."
Whether they will get to preach about their lifestyle on Jessa and Jill's show is unknown, but there is no doubt they will try. Recent photos posted on the family's official Facebook page last month show Jim Bob and Michelle right in the midst Jill and Derek's recent going away party while TLC's cameras were taping for the special. Expect them to be front and center when Jessa's baby arrives, too.
An insider tells People that Jim Bob initially said "no" to the network's idea to have a Jill and Jessa spinoff, but he apparently changed his mind. Perhaps he thinks that his daughter's specials will be well-received by viewers that he will have a chance to convince TLC to bring him back on a show where he has a starring role.
"He absolutely wanted to be back on TV and was never thrilled about the show suddenly shifting focus."
However, with hundreds of advertisers refusing to place ads on the girls' specials, Jim Bob is going to have a tough time convincing the network that 19 Kids and Counting should make a comeback.
Meanwhile, the Jessa Duggar Seewald baby waiting game continues. The couple has not revealed the gender of the baby, but in a recent post on the Duggar family blog, they revealed that they have been calling the baby "Quincy."
"Ben and I were talking about a letter theme for our kids and Ben suggested, 'Why don't we go with the letter 'Q'?' Of course that was a joke, but from that point, Ben started calling our little one Quincy, and the nickname just sorta stuck."
Baby Seewald, or "Quincy," is due on the couple's first wedding anniversary and two days before Jessa's 23rd birthday.
