I'm sure he likes to kick back a few drinks every now and then being a proper southern man that he is, but I'm wondering if his drinking gets out of control when he's having a night out on the town bar hopping in Richmond.

Being a socialite of his stature he must have people always offering him designer drugs and the most expensive booze at the most upscale clubs, bars and restaurants.

I hope Meade doesn't let his celebrity status get to his head. Drugs and alcohol have been the undoing of many great musical talents.

No. He comes from a whole legendary line of moonshiners though. The Skeltons were legendary for making the best corn whiskey this side of the Mason/Dixon line. That's where their wealth came from, used to call them the "Kennedys of the South". I still think Meade will take a touch now and then. He uses "Whiskey Jars" to collect his tips at Hottenannies. His cellar is chock full of two notable things: his moldy records and old Mason/Ball jars.

I think he's more of a sweet tea guy as that's what he likes to sing about. Probably wouldn't turn down a shot of Firefly if he was offered one though.

He must do something, perhaps a little weed now and then? I don't think he is a drunk, at least it has not spoiled his looks, you can usually sport a drunk, they look like willy Nelson or Glen Campbell.

And then again it hasn't affected the fame of many. Look at the Rolling Stones, look at Steve Tyler, look at Dick Van Dyke, look at cher. Meade is in control of his short comings like these folks.

It was spontaneous. Usually Meade will rehearse the coming show weeks in the past, so it comes across a little staged. This show had none of that. they say true talent is the ability to react spontaneously, and that only develops after years and years of live audience gigs. well done young maestro
