Virginia Beach?

Looks nice,

All the oceanfront rooms are 250 a night. Is it worth the expense?

Risk your life and lose your sanity going up and down I-95 and I-64 through the hellish traffic jams for 10 hours each way so you can sweat your ass off with a bunch of in-bred morons and eat shit food at restaurants.

I own a house in Sandbridge, which is VA beach south. Rent is $5000 a week in summer. One block from beach. It's the price you pay for a safe area down there without niggers.

That was my first and last trip. Thugs everywhere. No thanks.

Virgina beach is a great place. I have been to nags head and topsail, the beach is nice but the tourist area is like a nursing home. Virgina beach has fun shit going on all day, music, arcades, people partying in bars. I have met some very nice and friendly people from all walks of life down there. If you go in early September the hotel rates are more like 200 a night.

VA Beach has been overrun by nog thugs, wiggers, and other street trash. It used to be a family atmosphere but now the only people you see after dark on the streets are trouble makers and criminals.

When was it ever a family atmosphere? Use to go there in the 80's and it was always a shithole. Mostly redneck mullet fatties IIRC

And the waves are better. And the water is more clear and warmer. Beach is cleaner. And there's a lot more area so not as packed. And just about everything else is better as far as a beach goes.

VA Beach is a great place to live if you have some money. Not a real great vacation beach destination. I've lived there, OC, Nags Head, Avon, and at various other beaches outside this area.

VA Beach is more of a year-round place and kind of neither here nor there for tourists. Doesn't have as much of the attractions like OC does for the knuckleheads who are looking for a beach boardwalk and that kind of thing. Sandbridge and the very North and South ends are just OK as beaches go. Being right at the mouth of the Bay and shallow offshore, the water's rarely nice and clear. They still get crowded in the Summer.

Outer Banks win easily on all counts as far as a beach goes. Also, the location without a big urban area nearby tends to filter out most of the worst people elements whether that's Guidos from NJ, greasy tattoo billboard bikers and urban negroes from Baltimore, or rednecks and blacks from Richmond and Hampton Roads who come for the day or weekend. Yeah, you get some good old boys from Rocky Mount and some wannabe gangstas from Elizabeth City who try to act up after a few beers but there's not enough of them to overwhelm the place like they do in AC, OC, and VA Beach at times. What you do get is all of those sweet young tanned Carolina girls. ; )

Richmond is not redneck. Most people from Central VA vacation in NC beaches anyway. They avoid VA Beach at all costs. NJ/NJ greasy tacky people are all over the East Coast beaches from Maine to Florida . No escaping them. The water temps in VA Beach are relatively the same as NC considering its like 12 miles from the NC border.

Plenty of rednecks around Richmond, Mechanicsville, and the surrounding area and they definitely do go to VA Beach. The Guidos from NY/NJ have an easy way there via the bridge tunnel. They head farther south too but generally not for the day/weekend which in both cases was more what I was talking about as far as AC and OC.

Water temps are almost always a little warmer in NC especially south of Hatteras and earlier and later in the year. The Gulf Stream turns off the coast right about at the Cape. South of that the water tends to be warmer, cleaner, completely different marine environment, fish are different, etc. vs nearer the mouth of the Bay. Mid-Summer doesn't make as much of a difference as water in the Bay and shallower water on the shelf warm up.

No, Richmond isn't redneck. Its very old money. Richmonders go to NC beaches just as easily as VA Beach because they are close enough. VA Beach is not a day trip for someone from NJ. It would take 5 hours or more at least then by that time it would be late afternoon. They dont go to VA Beach. They stay further up the Coast at Rehobeth or Atlantic City or even Ocean City. The temps are not that different. The Carolina coast is right on the edge of VA Beach.

Temps are warmer between Va Beach and Rehobeth, not much but 5 degrees makes a difference, and the Va Beach is easy to get in and out of. I stay at the Campground 2 miles south with all the visiting French Canadians, Its about as far as they can get in one day from Quebec. I take a electric only site and its 55 dollars a night stay in my pickup camper with a air conditioner rigged on the tail gate. A bit rough but its cheap, and I go at the spur of the moment when the weather is good. The camp has a free parking lot at the beach for campers and the Trolley bus comes there, Many just get on that with their umbrellas and chairs in the AM. Plus there are 4 pools at the camp and washers and lots of $$ eating kid stuff, video games ect. They do have live music very night or a DJ at the main pool and its a good time to relax a bit when coming back at night.

What a bitch it is to plan reserve 6 months ahead of time , spend 250 a night and its raining or other shitty weather then spend loads of money eating out every night. I do like Il Gardino the Italian place and Mahi Mahi's when I can afford it. Watermans is Ok but all the joints are jammed. My favorite is Big Sams on Rudee Inlet very good food super breakfasts and happy hour and cheap clams, shrimp and wings but it too is jammed from 530 till about 9pm., the NY Pizza place is good and cheap .All in all 3 days there is enough for me . Beach time , rideing and fishing the ocean or bridge tunnels always a good time.

The boardwalk does not have the wilder night life that O.C has or as many spots to get good greasy cheap beach food. But there are many more places to go if you get out of the beach area. The City beach at Sandbridge is nice also, about 5 dollars a day.

Yeah, there are no rednecks around the Richmond area. Henrico County is almost like New York City. Very Cosmopolitan. lmao!

994570_10151754547427440_1392298077_n.jp

I didn't say that people from NJ went to VA Beach for the day idiot. I said they go to AC for the day or weekend. Just like people from Baltimore go to OC.

Yeah, I realize where VA and NC are. The post that I was responding to was about Hatteras which is not "right on the edge of VA." It's 100 miles south. As shown in the map and temp data, the influence of the Gulf Stream and deeper water near shore makes it completely different water than VA Beach.

You're clueless on all counts.

Well lookie here, we got ourselves a racist. No one said anything about blacks. He said thugs. You put the two together. Va Beach has thugs of all races.

I was at the Comfort suites oceanfront with my wife and kid for 5 nights in June. We had a blast and plan to do another 3 night trip before school starts. There were black folks, white folks, Asian folks and Hispanic folks and everybody got along just fine.
The drive through the HRBT is tough but it only pisses you off if you let it. Best thing to do is stop about 25 miles before you get to the HRBT and make sure everybody hits the can and gets snacks and drinks. On a good day you can make 4 miles per hour through there.

I went to Va Beach recently with my wife. Luckily, we stayed at the top end of the boardwalk at the Marriott, 37th st I beleive. It was nice and quiet and white up around there until you get to around 30th st.

We walked all the way down to like 15th and down around there, it's all black and hispanic. I'm talking about the 300 lb black moms with 5 kids all looking the same age. Mexican families the same. 300-400 lb moms with many kids and skinny-scrawny men with them. We walked past this black family descibed above, where we heard the mom yell to her 5-6 year old looking son and said: "GET YO MOTHAFUCKIN ASS BACK HERE!" The kid turned around and looked disappointed, but with a familyt like that he should get used to it. Pretty sad.

We sat at an outside bar on the first floor of a hotel and there were some fat white and brown kids up on the 8th or 9th floor throwing food down onto the boardwalk at people.

My wife loves going down there and bar-hopping along the boardwalk, which is fun, but there's no eye candy. So, everytime she mentions going back, I sigh.

CNN really gave a lot of coverage to the 50 niggers beating the white guy in Cincinnati and laughing about it.
I wonder if they would have covered the story if 50 white people beat and kicked one nigger, laughing the whole time?

VA Beach is warm enough to try off season. Hotel rates drop considerably.

I have been there as late as mid Novemeber and the water is still plenty warm. Or you could go in April or May before all the summer trafffic hits.

Anybody who goes to the east coast beaches this time of year is nuts. Everything costs double, sometimes triple normal price. The traffic and crowds are awful. Lots of out of control kids and fatsos. The sand is too hot to even walk on most of the day and now this year you have the added attraction of possibly be eaten by a shark.

Just for fun I looked at the Hilton Garden Inn website in Kitty Hawk NC. $369 for an ocean view (not ocean front) room in the middle of the week! That's criminal. Even the dumps in Nags Head, of which there are plenty, want $150-$175 a night right now.

Take the advice of others. Go in late Sept to late Oct. Temps in the mid 70's low 80's most days No kids. No crowds. Cheap rooms. And great fishing!
