The girl is Jewish and she appears to be somewhere on the Baja peninsula, but it could be somewhere in the Med.

Baja, perhaps ... but I would say it could be Moorea in French Polynesia .. view from Moorea island toward Tahiti or visa versa ...

The mountains take a rolling dip .. if the pic below were wider

Looking at her various social media profiles, she seems to have disappeared some time in 2013.

I'll take the long odds- Catalina Island, viewed from Orange County.

DOubt I'm right, but has to be a huge payout if I am.

Wayyyy too far. That island is like 20-30 miles off the coast, you can't even see it from a tall building.

A couple of things to note. The mountains are significantly rounded off (yes, I know which ones) so they have been exposed to glacier activity at some point. There is some pretty significant haze. We aren't that far from the opposite shore since I can see breakers in the water.

Hawaii is out. No glacier activity.

California -- possible.

It is difficult to analyze the mountains carefully with that chick blocking the view

Since this photograph was taken from one of the upper floors of the U Suites hotel in Eilat, Israel, those are the Aqaba Mountains in the background.

I thought you could see it, but faintly. Maybe you need a clearer day?

Wild guess, wild man- that's all.

Interesting, never knew about the rounding of the tops.

Maybe because it's bullshit. As stated at least.

Glacial activity isn't why mountains are rounded vs more sharp. Primarily anyway. That's mostly an effect of age and weathering over a longer time (which may include glacial activity as one type) and/or the geology/composition of the formation. The standard examples being the difference between the Appalachian and Rocky Mountains. The Appalachian were at one time similar in form to the Rockies but they are much, much older. About 450-500 million years vs 45-50 million.

There are plenty of more sharp mountain ranges which have been subject to glacial activity and still are sharp. In some cases more sharp as a result since glaciers tend to scour the softer sedimentary components vs harder rock more easily.

There also are rounded mountains which have never seen any glaciers. The southern range of the Appalachians as an example which were never affected yet still are more rounded.

There also are younger volcanic formations which appear more rounded where the softer composition may have eroded more quickly or there has been an event like an associated volcano blowing off its top or a dome collapsing and then being softened in form by weathering. There are for example plenty of views of Hawaii where you'd see more rounded forms from a distance. Vegetation also comes into play as far as appearance at distance since heavy vegetation will mask more sharp features vs an exposed rocky surface.

On a macro scale it also has to do with the mode of formation, e.g., whether the result of direct volcanic building or secondary thrust folding but that's a subject for another day.

The mountain range would appear to be The Grand Tatas.

I think the "Miami" she's referring to is Miami Platja, a resort area on the Mediterranean in Catalonia, Spain. Was there many years ago, and I recall that it looked like that, though I never had THAT view! It's a nice, quiet place, mostly summer homes, not a lot of hotels, but that has probably changed.

The mountain range is called "Tetas Dulces" in the local dialect.

Probably taken in Eilat. Here is a similar view from the Yam Suf Hotel.
