Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
I'm a little skeptical. One fossil found by an amateur tying together millions of years of evolution all at once sounds more like wishful thinking than science fact.
This is a huge step in the right direction, if their findings are true. I'd want to see a couple similar finds before saying this is true.
I mean, science just said today that it's not bacteria that causes the shock effects in a komodo dragon's bite, but a potent venom from previously-undiscovered venom glands.

What I don't like about this discovery is that it was in a German collector's private collection for 20 years. This is the same M.O. that has occurred with several of these "missing link" stories that have been debunked over the years. Whether or not there is something to be concerned about, I'm sure critics will attack it from that perspective.
This is strange, I thought humans were the remnants of exiles brought to Earth by Xenu, the dictator of the Galactic Confederation some 75 million years ago...
At least thats what this self-help book says that I bought for $50.

If you can't move objects with your mind, you have to spend 5,000 pounds to take the course again? Hah!

As much as I'd like for this to be true, I am skeptical as well.
Whether you're an amateur archeologist or pro, you would know the period of rock you're searching in. Therefore, finding this fossil would have raised his or anyone elses eyebrows enough to want to get further clarification.
I am also skeptical. In fact I wouldn't be at all surprised if this were an elaborate hoax put on by the creationst crowd. Looks to me like a rat skeleton....but what do I know...

"the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish."

It seems like something that someone with money, like Scaife, would do.
