Islamic terrorists who target innocents for political and ideological reasons are called terrorists. Which is what they are.
Black criminal thugs who target or otherwise hurt innocents as a result of criminal activities are called thugs. Which is what they are.
Deranged white boys who shoot people for a variety of bizarre reasons which make sense only to them mostly related to them being "off" in some way are called mentally ill. Which is what they are.
Islamic terrorists who target innocents for political and ideological reasons are called terrorists. Which is what they are.

Sure they can. None are mutually exclusive. Just far more common in their own stereotypical, most frequent case and a matter of what's driving what. He can be a nut case who had bizarre ideological reasons to justify his actions. As an Islamic terrorist can be primarily motivated by ideology and also be a 'crazy' motherfucker for burning some dude in a cage. You can tell by looking at the kid, just like Holmes and Lanza, that he's not all there regardless what he may cite as motivation.

It'll be hard for Gerry's feeble liberal mind to get this but most of the time:
Terrorists are generally Muslim trash who attack and kill innocent people. And their skin is dark.
Thugs are blacks or Hispanics who not only kill, but generally have a history of committing other crimes as well - rape, robbery, etc. that's why it's called "thug life".
White people who mass murder aren't Muslim trash and generally don't have a history of commiting other crimes.
Terrorists are generally Muslim trash who attack and kill innocent people. And their skin is dark.

We're talking about cases in the United States and absolutely no effort to address potential mental illness when it comes to Muslims.
But when you have a white terrorist not only is the first issue that is addressed is that it is simply another case of mental instability but that's also the narrative adopted irrespective of blatant facts. Blatant facts such as racist tendencies, promotion of past aparthied states, telling those he murdered before he killed them that I must do this because your kind rapes our women and are taking over my country.
That's the painfully obvious double standard before us.

I think this is because he didn't kill any Trayvons or Mike Browns. He killed elderly folk going to church. It's almost as bad as killing innocent preschoolers. There's nothing to celebrate or defend. He didn't rid the world of a problem, he just created more.
