Some of the 60s sitcoms have held up over time, namely Get Smart which is still the funniest show ever to be on network television.

Another classic is Hogan's Heroes. The entire premise of making a comedy out of Nazis, the Gestapo, and concentration camps is side splitting on its own and the dialogue is truly brilliant. F Troop also has its moments that still work for me.

Going back even further, the Dick vanDyke show may be the best sitcom in history.

Best old series has to be "The Rifleman" it just had a great chemistry between the father and son. Johnny Crawford phizzed out later on but he has to be one of the best child actors ever. The advise from father to son was always outstanding, not corny like "leave it to Beaver" although Hugh Beaumont was up there as a TV dad.

The Brady Bunch was unintentionally good sometimes. The Monkees blew. Petticoat Junction had a very few good moments in the early years, mainly when Edgar Buchanan was on screen.

Agree that Get Smart was funny. Green Acres was frequently weirdly hilarious.

In later years, I thought the Bob Newhart Show was great (not "Newhart").

Watched Get Smart, Laugh In, Baseball games, and shows like Hee Haw where they would have live performances of guys like Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Merle Travis and other pickers of the day. Hardly Ever missed Ed Sullivan and Walt Disney on Sunday evenings. During the week we didn't watch much TV, we were always out running around the neighborhood raising hell.

I remember the old serials on Walt Disney, stuff like the "Hardy Boys Mystery", and the one with the Summer Camp which stared Tim Considine and Harry Carey Jr. "Gold Doubloons and pieces of eight; handed down to Applegate, From Buccaneers who fought for years, for Gold Doubloons and pieces of eight"

Combat! was a great show. Very well done for the time.

Addams Family was good. Not as big on The Munsters myself but they did have the cool cars.

Get Smart and Green Acres both so stupid they were good. Dragnet kind in the same way but not intentionally so.

Rocky and Bullwinkle and Johnny Quest for cartoons.

I loved outer limits, remember the episode where those little ant things landed on earth. Rocky and Bullwinkle were good, also the Fractured Theatre potion and Mr Peabody.

Mama's Family was super great, I can watch those espisodes over and over again. A real dysfunctional family, Ken Berry was superb. It is one of those shows you can get addicted to. I wish it would never have been cancelled but continued forever.

Addams Family was good. I loved when Gomez would open his safe and pull out a lit cigar. Then he'd pull out money, and act like it was nothing: "What do you need, one hundred thousand, two hundred thousand, three hundred thousand......

The name of the show was "The FBI - In Color", if you remember. I was too young to know that Lost in Space was idiotic, so I liked it. What I remember about Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was that the flying sub always crashed.

That was kind of a strange show. Not sure that I ever really figured the plots as a kid but they always had some kind of cool almost steampunk-like inventions/gadgets going on which made it worth watching.

Anybody remember a late 70s/early 80s show called "Project Bluebook"? It was re-enactments of UFO and alien encounters collected by the govt (Air Force, I think). It was really weird and cheesy, but creepy. It used to scare the shit out of me when I was a kid.

It's actually called Project U.F.O. and you can watch episodes online. Awful acting and bad special FX, even for 1978. It's kind of fun to watch, like really bad True-TV channel crap.

The first episode is "The Washington DC Incident":

I remember when my parents told me that we were moving to Virginia. My only reference at the time was the TV show "The Virginian." (Yeah, I know now that it wasn't even set in Virginia but as a little kid I wasn't sweating details like that.) I was so disappointed when we got here. I was expecting to be riding horses around our ranch and chasing outlaws. End up in a crappy duplex in Del Ray. lol

"Pugsly died just last year. Wednesday (Lisa Loring had a very sad life and became a heroin addict). I thought Mortisha was a real beauty. Caroline Jones."

Uncle Fester (Jackie Coogan) had been a big time child actor whose money had been spent by his parents by the time he was an adult. "Coogan's law" was created to protect other children.
Carolyn Jones was a terrific actress who had been in many great movies. She could be a beauty or a plain Jane.

John Astin (Gomez) is something of a local boy. He was born in Baltimore and grew up in the Maryland suburbs of DC. His father was a Director of the National Bureau of Standards (now NIST).

He graduated from Johns Hopkins, where he teaches drama and acting today.

Nah, they're boring. The best TV shows have to be Keeping Up with the Kardashians, anything broadcast on Fox News and MSNBC, Jersey Shore/any reality show, and every rapper's TV show (as well as the great Justin Bieber).

How did the Petticoat Junction girls manage to put on their petticoat in that water tank? June Lockhart was a MILTF. Uncle Joe used to steal the girl's panties and sniff them. There was a episode where Billy Joes husband was serenading Granny from "Beverly Hillbillies" which was pretty far fetched. Eva Gabor was a MILF. Surprised the brunette daughter did not hit the 'Big Time" she was a real looker. Trivia" The young Red head daughter was the girl in the car that shoots Tim Roth in the gut in the movie "Reservoir Dogs

I'm pretty sure they owned Hadji outright. You could do that in India in the 60s. Apparently.

>How did the Petticoat Junction girls manage to put on their petticoat in that water tank?

Why did no one call them on swimming in the town's water supply? And do you really think you could, in a modern sitcom, name the town 'Hooterville'?

If she was talking in your ear, you'd be hard as $10 jawbreaker.

She fucked it all up with cosmetic surgery and marrying Phil Donahue, but she is a truly beautiful dark woman, great teeth and eyes. Lebanese and Sicilian.

Barbara Eden was awesome. Never caught the Samantha thing as much, but she was hot.

I saw BE in an old Andy Griffith a while back, I would have chewed up her panties.

Liz Montgomery was hot & she played dual roles on Bewitched. Her daughter was involved in the production of Mad Men.
