The picture shows percentage paid in annual federal taxes. You have stated that the rich don't pay their fair share. A second quintile earner pays 5.7% of their income towards federal taxes. Whereas the top one tenth of one percent pays 30.8%.

Percentage of income means nothing because an uneducated mcdonalds worker doesn't deserve to make more. You act as though everyone should be paid the same despite the hard work, risk, having started a company and worked 16-18 hours per day to get the business off the ground, and taking on all the risk of employing people.

I'm actually in favor of a staggered flat income tax. Everyone, including the less affluent, should pay taxes.

$1-$9,999 = 1% tax
10,000-19,999 = 3%
20,000-49,999 = 10%
50,000-99,999 = 15%
100,000-499,999 = 20%
500,000+ = 25%

This way, the super rich pay (some of which pay nothing). And the 47% who pay nothing also pay.

Everyone needs to invest in this country. We have too many takers.
